1. GC Murmu selected as external auditor by the Intergovernmental Organization for the abolition of chemical weapons
The country’s Comptroller and Auditor General GC Murmu has been elected as an external auditor by the prestigious Intergovernmental Organization for the Elimination of Chemical Weapons . The Foreign Ministry has reported that the member countries of the Chemical Weapons Prohibition Organization-OPCW have elected Mr. Murmu as an external auditor for a 3-year term starting in 2021 . Mr. Murmu was appointed through the election process at the organization’s conference in which India received tremendous support. The Ministry of External Affairs has said that India’s selection for this post is a symbol of its reputation at the international level. India has also been elected a member of the Executive Council of the organization as the representative of Asia for another two years.
2. Indian Navy sends submarine rescue vessel to assist in search and rescue of missing Indonesian submarine
The Indian Navy has sent a deep-sea rescue vessel – DSRV – to assist the Indonesian Navy in the search and rescue efforts of Indonesia ‘s missing submarine KRI Nanggala . The Indian Navy received a warning from the International Submarine Rescue Liaison Office about the disappearance of Indonesia’s submarine. It is reported that this submarine was practicing 25 km to the north of Bali with 53 members of the crew . India is one of the few countries in the world that have the capability to search and rescue a bad submarine through DSRV. Under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between India and Indonesia, the navies of the two countries have a strong partnership with operational cooperation between the navies.
3. Succeeded to create oxygen from the carbon dioxide present in the atmosphere of Mars
US space agency NASA ‘s Mars Orbiter Success has succeeded in creating oxygen from the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere of Mars . America’s Mars mission was successful in flying mini helicopters. This is followed by a second successful demonstration of technology by creating oxygen. Oxygen gas production in the Rover vehicle – Moxi- Yani Mars Oxygen in Situ Resource Utilization ExperimentDone in a small unit named. It contains 5 grams of oxygen, which is enough for a person to breathe for about 10 minutes in Mars. NASA plans to increase its mission to Mars in the future, instead of taking oxygen from the Earth, it will have to build a larger size Moxi unit to produce this gas there. There is an abundance of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere of Mars. It is estimated that 10 grams of oxygen can be produced per hour.
4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting to review the supply and availability of oxygen
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directed the officials to ensure the supply of oxygen to various states in a smooth and smooth manner. Shri Modi reviewed the availability of oxygen used in the treatment of patients across the country at a high level meeting and also discussed ways to enhance it. He also emphasized the need to decide the responsibility of the local administration in case of any disturbance in the supply. He instructed the Ministries to explore various ways to increase production and supply of oxygen.
5. Fifth shipment of Rafale planes reached India
The fifth consignment of Rafale planes reached India. These aircraft completed a flight of about eight thousand kilometers, for which the Air Force of France and United Arab Emirates provided air refueling facilities. In a tweet, the Indian Air Force thanked the Air Force of both countries for this cooperation. 6. Islamic scholar Maulana Waheeduddin Khan dies
Eminent Islamic scholar Maulana Waheeduddin Khan has passed away. He was 96 years old. President Ramnath Kovind has expressed grief over the demise of Maulana Wahiduddin Khan, a well-known Islamic scholar. Mr. Kovind said in a tweet that Maulana Wahiduddin, honored with Padma Vibhushan, did important work for peace, harmony and reforms in the society. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has deeply mourned the demise of Maulana Waheeduddin Khan.
7. ISRO will support eight joint research projects of IIT-Delhi-based Space Technology Cell
Recently, the Indian Space Research Organization (Indian Space Research Organisation) has announced that it IIT- Delhi -based space technology cell of (Space Technology Cell) eight joint research projects will support. ISRO has its own response program(RESPOND Program) has supported these projects. ISRO started the Respond program (research sponsored) in the 1970s, with the aim of encouraging academics to participate and contribute to various space research activities. 8. New Global Maritime Initiative Blue Nature Alliance
A new global maritime initiative has been launched in the next five years to ensure conservation of important aquatic areas and oceans . ‘ Blue Nature AllianceThis initiative called ‘has been launched in collaboration with various philanthropic organizations, national governments, local communities, indigenous people, scientists and academics. The ‘Blue Nature Alliance’ initially under its conservation work comprises three sea areas spread over an area of 4.8 million square kilometers (1.9 million sq mi), namely Fiji’s Lau Seascape, Antarctica will cover Tristan da Cunha Island in the Southern Ocean and Southern Atlantic Ocean. The primary objective of this initiative is to work closely with the local communities most affected by climate change, and as such this initiative can be helpful in marine conservation as well as increase ecosystem resilience. Oceans on more than two-thirds of the Earth’s surface affect human life significantly and are particularly important for the livelihood of communities living in coastal or small island areas. Despite this, oceans around the world are facing severe stress.
9. Shiv Subramaniam Raman SIDBI Chairman and Managing Director
Recently Shiva Subramaniam Raman Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI)Has taken over as the Chairman and Managing Director. According to the official information released in this regard, Subramaniam Raman has been appointed for the total year term. Prior to this appointment, Subramaniam Raman was serving as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of National e-Governance Services Limited (NeSL). Subramaniam Raman, who hails from Tamil Nadu, is a 1991 batch Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS) officer. Apart from this, he has also served as the Principal Accountant General of Jharkhand for the year 2015-2016. On the other hand, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) was established on 2 April 1990 as a premier financial institution for promotion, financing and development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector under an Act of Parliament.
10. Israel: Google and AWS selected for Nimbus Project
The Israeli government has chosen Google and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide cloud services for its military and public sector units . The project is to be implemented in four phases and is named as “Nimbus” project. The Nimbus project will be implemented at an estimated cost of US $ 1 billion. It will establish cloud sites in Israel. These sites will keep information within Israeli borders under strict security guidelines. The four phases of this project are as follows:
