The Indian Navy has designed an Oxygen Recycling System, or ORS , to mitigate the current oxygen crisis . The Naval Southern Command’s diving school has designed such a system concept and design to overcome the current oxygen shortage. It is designed to increase the capacity of existing medical oxygen cylinders by two to four times . This information has been revealed using the fact that only a small percentage of oxygen taken from the nose by a patient is inhaled by the lungs. And the rest is precipitated with carbon-dioxide. The Defense Ministry said in a statement that according to the current guidelines, the system is being rolled out for clinical trials, which is expected to be completed rapidly. After this, mass production in the country will start independently. It states that all the components used in ORS are indigenous and are well present in the country. The total cost of the ORS prototype has been kept at Rs 10 thousand, while the savings of Rs 3 thousand per day have been considered due to the recycling of oxygen.
