- Climate Equity Monitor website launched on global climate policy
Welcoming the launch of ” Climate Equity Monitor” website on global climate policy , Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupendra Yadav said in a tweet, that Climate Equity Monitor is the most vulnerable to climate change with a data and evidence-based approach. Will encourage vigorous discussion on this important issue with a focus on impact and involve experts from all countries. The Climate Equity Monitor provides an online dashboard for acknowledging the disproportionate impacts of climate change, disparity in emissions, worldwide energy and resource consumption, and current climate policies of many countries at an international level. The website was conceptualized and developed by independent researchers from India – MS Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) ,Chennai in the Climate Change Group and the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) in Bangalore in natural sciences and engineering department has with other independent researchers. The MSSRF team is headed by Senior Fellow on Climate Change and NIAS team Prof. T. Jayaraman and Associate Professor Dr. Tejal Kanitkar. The objective of the Climate Equity Monitor is to protect against environmental hazards with the benefits of the environment for all and the shared concerns but on the basis of the different capacities and responsibilities of different countries (CBDR-RC) under the UNFCCC (Developed Countries) Appendix-I To supervise the work of the parties. The practices and policies of non-Appendix-I parties (developing countries) will also be drawn up for comparison.
- Law to report the impact of climate change: New Zealand

- Karnataka tops the State Energy Efficiency Index (SEEI) 2020
Karnataka has topped the State Energy Efficiency Index 2020 ( SEEI ), scoring 70 out of 100 on the strength of several initiatives to improve energy efficiency in the state. Rajasthan second and Haryanais in third place. Last year i.e. in SEEI 2019 ranking, Rajasthan was on top. The State Energy Efficiency Index (SEEI) 2020 was released under the Ministry of Power. The State Energy Efficiency Index is released by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and the Alliance for an Energy-Efficient Economy (AEEE). The SEE index evaluates states into four categories of aspirant with a score below 30, contenders with a score between 30-50, achievers with a score of 50-60, and frontrunners with a score above 60. Is. SEEI 2020 assesses the performance of 36 states and union territories in Energy Efficiency (EE) using 68 qualitative, quantitative and outcome-based indicators, for a maximum score of 100 across six sectors.
- Uttarakhand: Country’s first aromatic garden opened in Lalkuan
The country’s first Surabhi Vatika (Aromatic Garden) has been prepared at the Forest Research Center of Lalkuan in Haldwani , Nainital district of Uttarakhand . 140 aromatic species have been planted in this garden prepared in an area of three acres . This garden has been prepared in three years. It was jointly inaugurated by Beena Rao, director of Maharashtra’s One Touch Agricultural Association and Chief Conservator of Forests Sanjeev Chaturvedi. Aromatic species from different states of the country have been brought here and planted here. This is the first Surbhi Vatika in the country. Its formation will help in increasing the conservation, research, awareness of the species. Apart from this, it will prove to be helpful in the works related to livelihood. The Vatika has been prepared in nine parts.
- Project 15B’s first warship Y12704 (Visakhapatnam) handed over to the Indian Navy
The first warship of Project 15B, Y12704 (Visakhapatnam) was handed over to the Indian Navy on 28 October 2021. Mazagon Docks Limited (MDL) is building guided missile destroyer warships under Project 15B. The contract for four ships of Project 15B was signed on 28 January 2011. These are known as Visakhapatnam class The project is a follow-up to the Kolkata category (Project 15A) initiated in the last decade . The ship has been designed by the Directorate of Naval Design , an in-house design body of the Indian Navy and built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, Mumbai.has done it. These four ships have been named after the major cities of the four corners of the country, which are- Visakhapatnam, Mormugao, Imphal and Surat . The 163 m long warship has a full load displacement of 7400 tonnes and a maximum speed of 30 knots. The total indigenous content of the project is about 75%.
- Indo-US exercise 2021 concludes
The 17th edition of the joint military training” Yudh Abhyas 2021 ” between the Indian and US armies concluded on October 29, 2021 at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, Alaska . The objective of this 14-day exercise was to familiarize the two armies about each other’s operational procedures, combat exercises and inter-operability among other things. The Indian contingent consisted of 350 personnel from an infantry battalion group from the Madras Regiment, while the American contingent consisted of 300 soldiers from the 1st Squadron (Airborne) of the 40th Cavalry Regiment. This exercise will help the armies of both the countries to conduct joint operations at battalion level in mountainous areas with cold climatic conditions .
- US approves Pfizer-BioNtech’s COVID vaccine for children aged 5 to 11
The US Food and Drug Administration has approved Pfizer-BioNtech ‘s COVID vaccine for children between the ages of 5 and 11 . This will be the first corona vaccine given to children in America. The government has taken this decision after consultation with a high level medical committee. After this decision by the Food and Drug Administration, the vaccine is likely to be available to 28 million American children in this age group. Most of these children are now going to school amid the corona epidemic. The administration has approved a 10 microgram dose of Pfizer’s drug to young children. Pfizer and BioNTech said their vaccine was up to 90.7% effective against the coronavirus in clinical trials in children ages 5 to 11.
- Andhra Pradesh cabinet decides to request Center to conduct caste based census
The Andhra Pradesh cabinet has decided to request the Center to conduct a caste-based census to mention the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the 2021 National Census . The cabinet authorized the State Backward Classes Minister Venugopal Krishna to move a request motion in the upcoming assembly session for the caste census of OBCs. Recently, on October 8, the Telangana government also passed a similar resolution in the state assembly. The Andhra Pradesh cabinet has also approved the formation of a separate department for the welfare of the economically weaker sections. This department has been created for the purpose of implementing welfare schemes for the poor people of upper caste.
- KV Kamath appointed as Chairman of NaBFID
Government of India has V Kamath, the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development ( National Bank For Financing Infrastructure And Development – NaBFID appointed as chairman). He is a renowned banker in India and the first head of the New Development Bank (NDB) . NaBFID is a newly established development financial institution (DFI) in India. - South Korea inaugurates world’s largest hydrogen fuel cell power plant
South Korea held the trade, industry and energy ministry Incheon (Incheon) and Seo-Gu (Seo-gu) in Korea Southern Power of Shinincian Bitdrim ‘headquarters Shinincian Bitdrim Fuel Cell Power Plant ( Shinincheon Bitdream Fuel Cell Power Plant ) ” has been completed and inaugurated. The power plant is operated by South Korea’s independent power generation company, POSCO Energy , and Doosan Fuel Cell . It has a capacity of 78 MW built in four phases since 2017. The cost of the project was approximately 340 billion won ($292 million).

- CBSE started Veer Gatha Project in schools
CBSE has started the Veer Gatha project in schools to raise awareness about gallantry awards . Schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have been asked to prepare projects and engage in activities based on gallantry award winners. The objective of the Veer Gatha project is to raise awareness among school students about the valiant acts and sacrifices of gallantry award winners.
