1 PM inaugurates 3rd Khelo India University Games in Lucknow

Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  inaugurated   the third Games India University Games  in  Lucknow . The grand opening ceremony of the third Games India University Games   was held at the Babu Banarsi Das Sports Complex . Minister of State for Sports Nishith Pramanik  and Chief Minister of the state  Yogi Adityanath  were also present on the occasion  . These competitions are being organized in Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Gautam Buddha Nagar. Four thousand seven hundred and fifty athletes from more than two hundred universities are participating in it. The closing ceremony will be held in Varanasi on June 3. The Prime Minister will also be present in this. The mascot of these games   has been named  Jeetu, which is the twelve-horned state animal  of  Uttar Pradesh. represents.

Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  flagged off  the Vande Bharat Express train from Dehradun to Delhi  through   video conference  .  This is the first Vande Bharat train for Uttarakhand . 3 G-20, the second meeting of the Anti-Corruption Working Group begins in Uttarakhand

The secondthree-day G-20 meeting  of  the Anti-Corruption Working Group  in  Uttarakhand  began at Narendra Nagar in Tehri district . In this three-day meeting, the representatives of the member countries will discuss the issue of international anti-corruption mechanism. Elaborate arrangements have been made to showcase the culture of Uttarakhand to the foreign delegates of G-20. During the meeting, the representatives of the member countries will see the rural environment of the mountains and   visit  the model Aavani village of Narendra Nagar. Development work has been done at a cost of about Rs 10 crore in Avani village, located about 14 km from Rishikesh . This village has been developed as a model village in the traditional style of Uttarakhand.

4 Kerala declared full e-governance state

Kerala  Chief Minister  Pinarayi Vijayan  has declared the state as  a full e-governance state  . This   is a major step towards achieving 100% digital literacy . Mr Vijayan said that strengthening e-governance in the state is part of using advanced technology to deliver government services to the people and the government aims to bridge the digital divide in the society. The government has   created a single window service delivery system called  e-Sevanam which  integrates more than eight hundred government services online.

5 Iran successfully test-fires ballistic missile with a range of about 2,000 kilometers

Iran  today successfully tested a ballistic missile  with a range of   about  two thousand kilometers . This missile   is capable of carrying one thousand five hundred kilograms of warheads. It has   been named Khyber . Iran claims that its weapons can reach the bases of Israel and America. Iran has said it will continue to develop its defense missile program despite protests from the US and European countries.

6 ADB and the Government of India signed a $141.12 million loan agreement for the development of an industrial corridor in Andhra Pradesh

The Asian Development Bank (ADB)  and  the Government of India  signed a loan agreement of $141.12 million  on 23.05.2023  . The agreement   has been signed to support the development of high-quality internal infrastructure such as roads, water supply plants and power distribution systems in three industrial areas  in  Andhra Pradesh . The loan will be given as the second tranche of a $500 million multi-tranche financing facility (MFF) under the program approved by ADB in 2016. With this loan facility, infrastructure facilities will be developed in three industrial clusters under Visakhapatnam and Srikalahasti-Chittoor region sanction of the state.

Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj  Shri Giriraj Singh  launched  Samarth Abhiyan ‘  to promote digital transactions  in  50000 Gram Panchayats  under  Amrit Mahotsav  in  Lucknow . Ministry of Rural Development is running “Samarth Abhiyan to promote digital transactions in 50,000 Gram Panchayats” which started from 1st February, 2023 and will continue till 15th August, 2023 under the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. The emphasis is on promoting digital transactions in rural areas, with a special focus on women.

8 Arunachal Pradesh government with the help of NITI Aayog to set up Institute for Transforming Arunachal (ITA) for the development of the state

The Arunachal Pradesh government  will set up  the Institute for Transforming Arunachal Pradesh (ITA)  with the help of  NITI Aayog  to take the state’s development to the next level. Chief Minister Pema Khandu  gave this information in a social media post. They held a meeting to discuss the setting up of ITA in Itanagar. Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein was also present in it. Shri Khandu said that the Institute for Transforming Arunachal Pradesh would be instrumental in the transformation of the state, would help various departments to take forward development activities and bring forward their own capabilities. He said that this institute would help in developing an eco-system to enhance knowledge.

9 Senior Indian Police Service officer Praveen Sood takes over as Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation

Senior Indian Police Service  officer  Praveen Sood  took   over as the Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation – CBI . Mr Sood, a 1986 batch officer, was earlier the Director General of Police in Karnataka. Shri Sood has held various important positions during his tenure of about 37 years. He has investigated high-profile cases. He worked to strengthen crime and criminal surveillance network in Karnataka. Shri Sood has been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2011 and the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2002.

10 Efforts to resolve Assam and Meghalaya border dispute

Recently,  in the Chief Minister’s level meeting  between  Assam and Meghalaya  , a significant step was taken towards resolving the  long-standing  border dispute between the two states. Assam and Meghalaya  884 kms.  Sharing  a long border , the meeting  was the “start” of the resolution process for the remaining six disputed areas . They have been engaged in discussions since July 2021 to settle the disputes and last  March 2022 they signed a memorandum of understanding to address six of the twelve disputed areas, The six areas where the dispute remains are Langpeh, Borduar, Nongwah-Mawatamur, Deshdoomaria, Block I and Block II and Siyar-Khanduli. Apart from this, it was decided in the meeting to start visiting the disputed areas by the three panels constituted earlier by both the states. These developments signal a renewed commitment to resolve border issues and promote peace and stability in the region.

The achievement of migrant workers   in  Malayalam examination  highlights the success of the Changathi project  under  the Kerala Literacy Mission . Designed to address the exclusion faced by migrant workers in society, the program aims to teach them to read and write in Malayalam and Hindi. Recognizing the importance of socio-cultural integration, the Literacy Mission seeks to equip migrant workers with the necessary skills to understand the nuances of their state. The program was first launched on August 15, 2017 in Perumbavoor, Kerala. Migrant workers are being empowered through initiatives like Changathi. It is breaking down barriers and promoting greater inclusivity in society.

13 UGC launches ‘NEP SAARTHI’ to involve students in implementing NEP2020

University Grants Commission (UGC)  has launched  ‘ NEP SAARTHI’  to involve students in the implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. (Student Ambassadors for Academic Reform in Transforming Higher Education in India)’. Under this, about 300 such students will be selected from higher educational institutions across the country, who will go around the higher educational institutions to inform the students about the changes under the policy and the benefits they will get from it. They will act as brand ambassadors to take forward the NEP across the country. According to UGC Chairman Professor M Jagadesh Kumar, universities and higher educational institutions across the country have sought the names of three students each under NEP Sarathi. Thereafter three hundred meritorious students out of them will be selected for NEP Sarathi. These students can be studying any subject of the institute. Enrollment for this will start from May 2023 itself, while its last date will be till June 2023.

14 Dr Jitendra Singh approves 181 new members of the Indian Institute of Public Administration

Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions  Dr. Jitendra Singh  approves  181 new members  of  Indian Institute of Public Administration-IIPA Gave. These include 56 professors, associate professors and assistant professors. Shri Singh is also the National President of IIPA. Chairing the 322nd meeting of the Executive Council of IIPA, Dr Singh informed that it was decided to open the membership of IIPA, reserved for retired officers, to serving officers in November 2021. He informed that more than 700 members have been enrolled for this so far. Mr Singh said applications have also come from the Defense Services and from the educational and business sectors. Earlier, Dr Singh inaugurated the Kendriya Bhandar at the IIPA campus, which houses a variety of ready-to-eat food items and a “Karmayogi Gate”.

The government   presents the prestigious Prime Minister’s National Child Award every year to honor children of exceptional merit in the fields of bravery, sports, social service, environment, science and technology and others. The President presents these awards at a special function in January every year. The award carries a cash prize of Rs one lakh, a medal and a certificate. Anyone who is an Indian citizen and resides in India and is not more than 18 years of age can apply for this award.

16 Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department of Chandigarh got Scotch Silver Award for 2023

The Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department  of   Chandigarh  has  received the SKOCH Silver Award for 2023 . This award has been given to this department for e-governance in computerized medical records of cattle treatment by the department. This is the first project of its kind in the country. Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Secretary Vinod P Kavle said that this web-based application software caters to the veterinary department of five government veterinary hospitals and nine animal husbandry sub-centres in Chandigarh. The main objective of this application is to provide facility to the animal parents to register their animals online for services like treatment, vaccination and artificial insemination.

17 Green Hydrogen Summit inaugurated in Mumbai

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways  Nitin Gadkari  inaugurated   the Green Hydrogen Summit  in  Mumbai . He said that  alternative fuels like Bio-CNG and Green Hydrogen  are not only helping in reducing pollution but also reducing the cost of fuels. He said that India’s capacity for green hydrogen is five million metric tonnes per annum. He said that it is the responsibility of all the concerned parties to make fuel available to the people at an affordable rate and to make them aware of their utility. Shri Gadkari said that green hydrogen will not be profitable if the price is high. He asked the concerned parties to pay attention to keeping its price low.

18 Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of National Forensic Science University campus in Guwahati

19 Ministry of Minority Affairs will help in the development of Unani system of medicine

The Ministry of Minority Affairs will collaborate  with the Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM)  and  the National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM)  under  the Ministry of AYUSH  to promote and develop Unani System of Medicine  in  Bengaluru. The Ministry of Minority Affairs has  released a grant of Rs 45.34 crore  under  the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK). has been approved. With the help of this scheme Unani medical facilities will be improved at places like Hyderabad, Chennai, Lucknow, Silchar and Bengaluru. Grants have been sanctioned for setting up various facilities for Unani Medicine at Hyderabad, Chennai, Lucknow, Silchar and Bengaluru. A total amount of Rs 35.52 crore has been approved to the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) and Rs 9.81 crore to the National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM), Bengaluru.
