1. Pushkar Singh Dhami takes oath as Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, PM Narendra Modi congratulates
- Pushkar Singh Dhami took oath as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand . Governor Baby Rani Maurya administered him the oath of office and secrecy. Shri Pushkar will be the eleventh Chief Minister of the state . Eleven other ministers also took oath along with Shri Dhami. Shri Dhami will succeed Tirath Singh Rawat . 2. Education Minister Nishank will virtually launch the National Initiative – Nipun Bharat Abhiyan
- Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will virtually launch Nipun Bharat Abhiyan , a national initiative for proficiency in reading comprehension and calculation . A short video about Nipun Bharat, praise songs and implementation guidelines will also be released during the event. Senior officials of the School Education Department and heads of institutions of all states and union territories will participate in this program. The launch of Nipun Bharat Abhiyan is a significant effort of the Department of School Education and Literacy, as part of the various activities being undertaken to implement the National Education Policy 2020 . The objective of this campaign is to enable all children to achieve basic literacy and proficiency in calculations. 3. Two more central drug laboratories set up in the country for testing of Kovid vaccine
- The government has set up two more central drug laboratories to test the Kovid vaccine . At present there is a Central Pharmaceutical Laboratory in Kasauli in the country . It is used for testing and certification of drugs and vaccines for humans . In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and to rapidly ramp up production of COVID vaccines, the government has decided to set up additional laboratories. 4. Mariyappan Thangavelu selected as flag bearer for Tokyo Paralympic Games
- Top Para high-jumper Mariyappan Thngavelu ( Mariyappan Thangavelu ) on August 24 , starting from Tokyo Paralympic the flag of the Indian team was named. 5. ISRO approves implementation of satellite TV classes
- The Indian Space Research Organization ( ISRO ) has given its approval to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education to provide technical support for satellite TV classrooms across India to bridge the learning gap created due to the COVID lockdown . ISRO scientists appear before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education on July 2, 2021 and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) and DoordarshanMade a detailed presentation about the proposed satellite TV orbit for the students before the ISRO officials. ISRO scientists also emphasized that, ISRO is ready to provide satellite rights to the states to start satellite TV classes. Satellite TV classrooms will be used for broadcasting school-based educational programmes. Under this programme, students can avail in cluster classrooms and the issue of smartphone and data connectivity can be solved especially in rural areas.
