The annual naval maritime exercise between the Indian Navy and the Republic of Singapore Navy begins in the southern parts of the South China Sea. This exercise SIMBEX, organized in two phases , will continue till 24th of this month. The harbor phase includes business discussions, cross-deck visits, subject matter expert exchanges and activities related to sporting fixtures and the sea phase includes exercises for air-defense cannon firing, anti-submarine and other maritime operations. Ships Ranvijay, Kavaratti and Sindhukesari and long range maritime patrol aircraft P81 are participating in this exercise. SIMBEX is the longest naval exercise conducted by the Indian Navy with any other country.
4. Government institutes national awards in the field of science, technology and innovation to be known as National Science Awards
The government has instituted new national awards in the field of science, technology and innovation . These will be called National Science Awards . This award will be given to scientists, technologists and inventors for their notable contributions in various fields of science, technology and innovation . There will be four categories under the award – Vigyan Ratna, Vigyan Shri, Vigyan Yuva-Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar and Vigyan Team. Nominations for these awards will be invited every year between January 14 and National Science Day, February 28 . These awards will be announced on National Technology Day on May 11 . Award distribution ceremony every year National Space Day will be organized on 23rd August. National Science Awards will be given in 13 fields . These are – Physics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Sciences, Earth Sciences, Medicine, Engineering Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Technology and Innovation, Atomic Energy, Space Science and Technology.
5 Health Ministry reduced the qualifying percentile for NEET PG counseling to zero in all categories this year
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has reduced the cut-off percentage of postgraduate courses (Medical/Dental) for NEET PG counseling 2023 . Now the qualifying percentile has been reduced to ‘zero’ in all categories. This was announced in a notification issued by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC). Candidates who appeared for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate NEET PG 2023 will now be eligible to participate in the counseling process. Medical candidates can check the notice on the official website mcc.nic.in.

India has temporarily banned visa services in Canada, including e -Visa . External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that this decision has been taken due to incitement of violence and no action by the Canadian administration and disrupting the working environment for the Indian High Commission and Consulate in Canada. He said that Canadian citizens living in any third country will not be able to apply for Indian visa. However, persons holding valid visa or other documents can come to India. On a question regarding Canadian diplomats in India, Mr. Bagchi said that India has said that both the countries will have equal number of diplomats, hence the number of diplomats will be reduced from the Canadian side.

Mr Chaudhary said the AI chatbot will help in providing scheme information as well as resolving complaints. The AI chatbot acts as a comprehensive guide for the beneficiaries. This is the first AI chatbot integrated with any major scheme of the Central Government . It is called E K Step Foundation and Bhashini. Developed in collaboration with. Currently the chatbot is available in English, Hindi, Bengali, Oriya and Tamil languages. Soon it will be available in all 22 languages of the country.

The portal and app provide a comprehensive collection of yield estimates including GCES scheme and plot details on village-by-village basis, especially where experimental trials are conducted for harvest, crop weight immediately after harvest and then crop drought. 23 Promotion of rubber cultivation in North-East India
