1.United Nations 15 powerful member countries to increase pressure on Pakistan: USA :-

The United States has asked the United Nations Security Council to take steps to put pressure on Pakistan to change its behavior. US Ambassador Nikki Haley said this after the visit to Afghanistan. He said that the Afghan government has asked 15 powerful member states of the United Nations to increase pressure on Pakistan.

Pakistan is accused of supporting the Taliban and various terrorist groups in Afghanistan.

 

2.India conducted long distance ballistic missile Agni -5 of the Surface-Surface surface from indigenous technology made from Orissa coast :-

India tested the long distance ballistic missile Agni -5 from surface to surface from Orissa coast on Thursday. The country’s state-of-the-art Agni-5 missile has been constructed by Defense Research and Development Organization. It was left at 9.25 am in the morning. The Agni-5 trajectory of three stages powered by solid fuel can kill five thousand kilometers.

 

3.The Supreme Court lifted the ban on the performance of the film Padamavat :-

The Supreme Court has approved the release of controversial film Padmavat on 25th of this month across the country. A bench headed by Chief Justice Deepak Mishra has stayed the order of the Rajasthan and Gujarat governments to ban the performance of this film. The court has told other states not to stop the film’s performance. The Supreme Court has ordered states to maintain law and order.

The filmmaker had challenged the order of the State Governments in the Supreme Court to stop the protest.

 

4.Government has decided to constitute the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center and the Cyber Police For Monitoring the Cyber World :-

Government has decided to constitute the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center and the Cyber Police For Monitoring the Cyber World. This decision has been taken following the growing incidents of putting obscene content on the Internet. These two organizations will work under the newly formed Cyber and Information Security Division of the Home Ministry.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh reviewed this division on Wednesday . They instructed to create effective mechanisms and to block websites that violate Indian laws, especially pornographic pornography.

 

5.Solar Power Fund: $ 35 Million for Solar Projects K. Lion :-

Minister of Power and New and Renewable Energy K. Singh has announced to create a solar energy fund of $ 350 million for solar projects. In a two-day conference of the International Solar Coalition in Abu Dhabi, Shri Singh said that India is a country implementing the fastest renewable energy program in the world.

 

6.Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley discussed the pre budget of the states and Union Territories with the Finance Minister :-

The meeting of commodity and service tax has been started under the chairmanship of Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. There will be discussions about bringing real estate, registration fee of property and expansion of petroleum products into the new system.

 

7.In the first half and a half months of the current financial year, the increase in direct tax collections by 18.7% :-

In the first half and a half months of the current financial year in the country, the direct tax collection has increased by 18 decimal seven percent compared to the previous year. By 15th January, the amount of direct tax collection was recorded six lakh Nasr thousand crores. The budget was estimated to fetch Rs 9 lakh 80 thousand crore in the direct tax collections in FY2017-18. So far, 70 decimal three percent of the amount of direct tax has been collected.

 

8.Investors of the National Pension Scheme will be able to withdraw their 25 percent of their immediate requirements :-

The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority has given permission to purchase a house, to take care of critical illness and to withdraw partial amount from the National Pension Fund for higher education of children and marriage. According to the circular of the Authority, the people who have deposited the money for three years under National Pension System will be able to withdraw 25 percent of the special expenses. During the entire period, this amount can be withdrawn only three times.

Except for ancestral property, the employee will not be allowed to withdraw the amount on his own or joint name by having a house or flat. The amount can be extracted for the treatment of serious diseases such as cancer, kidney failure, paralysis, cardiac surgery.

 

9.Garbanenia Mughurujah out of second round of Australian Open championship :-

In tennis, world number three player Garbinia Mughurjaa is out in the second round of the Australian Open championship. Muguruaja of Wimbledon champion Spain last year defeated world’s 88th player, Sue Wei Hesche of Chinese Taipei 7-6, 6-4 in consecutive sets.

Meanwhile, in the men’s doubles match today, India started their campaign with victory. Leander Paes and Purav Raja, Rohan Bopanna of India and Edouard Roger Veselin of France and Divij Sharan of India and Rajiv Ram of America have reached the second round with victory.

Six-time champion Novak Djokovic has reached the third round.

 

10.Virat Kohli was selected as the Cricketer of the Year in the ICC annual awards :-

Indian captain Virat Kohli was today chosen to be the cricketer of the year in the annual ICC Awards announced in Dubai. Prior to this, Kohli also won the award in 2012. This is the second consecutive time when an Indian cricketer has won this award. The award was given to spinner Ravichandran Ashwin last year. Kohli has also got the top honors for the ODI player

 

11.Eighteen children were selected for National Bravery Awards 2017 :-

Eighteen children have been selected for National Bravery Awards 2017. Among them are seven girls. Three will be given gallantry award posthumously. The prestigious India Award will be given to 16 year old Kumari Nazia, Uttar Pradesh. Gita Chopra award will be given posthumously to Ms. Netravati M. Chauhan.

For the Sanjay Chopra award, 16 year old Karanbir Singh of Punjab has been elected. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give prizes to these brave children on 24th January.
