2.Kalapani’s ‘Mount Harriet’ in Andaman and Nicobar Islands to be renamed as Mount Manipur

3.China launches astronaut crew on 6-month mission

China launched a three-man crew for a 6-month mission aboard the Shenzhou-13 spacecraft to its space station “ Tianhe Module ” on October 16, 2021 . The Shenzhou-13 spacecraft is carrying three astronauts. It was launched by Long March-2F rocket . Crew activities include: three spacewalks to install equipment for the expansion of the station, assessing living conditions in the module, conducting experiments in space medicine and other areas. Chinese astronauts Zhai Zhigang , Wang Yaping and Ye GuangfuThe core module under construction at the space station arrived in Tianhe. They will be there for six months to complete the construction of Tianhe. This is the longest manned mission to space in the history of China.

China has recently pledged $233 million to a new fund called “Kunming Biodiversity Fund” for the conservation of biodiversity in developing countries. The decision was taken during a major United Nations conservation summit, although major donors disagreed. China wants to play a leading role at the international level on biodiversity conservation. China has plants in the Chinese city of Kunming, with representatives from about 195 countries, Organized a summit on the protection of animals and ecosystems. The summit seeks to establish a new agreement setting goals for 2030 and 2050. Countries are also debating a proposal called the “30 by 30 Agenda” in this conference. This agenda will seek to achieve 30% of the land and oceans of the Earth’s protected status by 2030. The issue of funding for the Kunming Biodiversity Fund will be raised at talks in Geneva in January 2022. China’s commitment falls short of the UK’s $4 billion commitment to conservation projects around the world.

8.India to launch 1000 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) as a pilot project

The Central Government has given its approval to invite Expression of Interest for setting up a pilot 1000 MW Battery Energy Storage System ( BESS ) project . This pilot project is a joint effort of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the Ministry of Power . Both the ministries are working on this to provide a road map for setting up energy storage systems in India. The Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) will be set up to support the ambitious goal of achieving the 450 GW renewable energy target by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy by 2030.

9.The country’s first heli hub will be built in Haryana’s Gurugram

The Haryana government has decided to set up the country’s first heli hub in Gurugram . In no time, now helicopters will not only be able to fly from here, but they will also be able to take advantage of the facilities from parking to repair and refueling. The center has also agreed to this plan of the state government and in this regard the center has asked the state government to send a proposal of land for this. From this heli hub, helicopters will be able to fly to Gurugram city and other states outside the city as per their capacity. For information, let us tell you that a total of five heli hubs are proposed across the country. In Gurugram heli hub, the state government will charge only one per cent VAT instead of 21 per cent VAT on helicopter fuel when it takes off from here.
