The Government of Mauritius has named one of its major metro stations ‘ Mahatma Gandhi ‘ as a token of gratitude for India’s support for the Metro Express project .‘ has been announced. On this occasion the Heads of State of both the countries also laid the foundation stone of Civil Service College and 8 MW Solar PV Farm Project in Mauritius. Simultaneously, the governments of both the countries have signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding Indian grants-in-aid for the implementation of small development projects. The governments also signed an agreement between Export-Import Bank of India (EXIM) and SBM (Mauritius) Infrastructure Development Company Limited for a $190 million line of credit for the ongoing Metro Express project and other infrastructure projects. Significantly, India has for a long time seen Mauritius only in the context of Diaspora of Indian origin, whose number is more in this country. However, in the last few years, India has started giving strategic importance to this island country present in the western Indian Ocean.

7.Plastic park to be constructed in Mangaluru

The central government has recently approved the setting up of a plastic park at Ganjimat in Mangaluru, Karnataka . This park will be built for Rs 62.77 crore. It is to be built in the land of Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) . Out of the total estimated cost of Rs 62.77 crore, the central government 50 % i.e. Rs 31.38 crorewill share. The remaining 50% amount will be borne by KIADB. To implement this project, KIADB will create a special purpose vehicle within its ambit. This park will generate hundreds of jobs for the local youth. A poly propylene unit will be installed in this park. This unit will provide raw material to the polymer and plastic units inside the park. Also, the park will help reduce the transportation cost. This is because 32 companies will be set up within the park. It also includes entrepreneurs from other districts. This park will include admin building, export building, warehouse facility etc.

12.AIIMS conducts study on children suffering from COVID-19
