1.PM to visit Vaccine facilities in three cities on November 28:- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit vaccine facilities in three cities to personally review the vaccine development and manufacturing process on November 28, 2020.He will visit the Serum Institute of India in Pune, Zydus Biotech Park in Ahmedabad and Bharat Biotech in Hyderabad.The SII has partnered with pharma giant AstraZeneca and Oxford University for its COVID-19 vaccine. The interim data of the phase 3 trials suggest that the vaccine is highly effective, especially among older people. PM Modi’s visit will be followed by the visit of ambassadors and high commissioners of various countries at the Serum Institute of India on December 4 to oversee the production and distribution plan of the Covid-19 vaccine.
2. Japanese spacecraft carrying asteroid soil samples to reach Earth on December 6:-Japan’s spacecraft carrying soil samples from the Ryugu asteroid will reach the Earth by December 6. The spacecraft is currently nearing the planet after a year-long journey home from the asteroid located about 300 million kilometers away. The spacecraft is carrying asteroid soil samples and data that could provide clues to the origins of the solar system. It is expected to drop a capsule containing the precious samples in southern Australia on December 6.Scientists at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency expect the samples contain valuable data unaffected by space radiation and other environmental factors.
3. Belgium tops FIFA’s final rankings for 2020, France second, Brazil 3rd:- Belgium has been ranked at the top in the final rankings list for 2020, released by FIFA on November 27, 2020.France is placed second, while Brazil is on third place, England on fourth place and Portugal in fifth place. Spain has been ranked sixth, followed by Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico and Italy. Croatia is ranked 11 and Germany is ranked 13th in the rankings list.

4.UNDP, Invest India launch SDG Investor Map for India:- UNDP and Invest India have jointly launched the SDG Investor Map for India, which has identified 18 Investment Opportunities Areas in six critical SDG enabling sectors, that can help India push its Sustainable Development efforts. According to Invest India CEO & MD Deepak Bagla, India occupies a key role in determining the success of the SDGs globally and the ‘SDG Investor Map for India’ will be an instrumental stride in India’s development trajectory. Shoko Noda, UNDP India Resident Representative said that the SDG Investor Map comes at a critical time for India, as the financing gap for the SDGs in India has only widened further with the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic.

5.Indian pharma firm to manufacture Russia’s Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine:- A pharmaceutical company in India, Hetero will be manufacturing over 100 million doses of Russia’s Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine per year. The decision has been taken under the terms of the deal unveiled on November 2 7, 2020, between Hetero and RDIF Sovereign Wealth Fund of Russia. According to a joint statement on the Twitter account of Sputnik V, the move will be another step in RDIF’s efforts of scaling up the international manufacturing of its flagship vaccine. Hetero will begin the production of Sputnik V in India at the start of 2021.The phase II-III clinical trials of Sputnik V have been underway in India. Even though Russian authorities had given regulatory approval to Sputnik V in August 2020, trials in Russia that are designed to assess its safety and efficacy are also ongoing.

6 .Ayodhya Airport to be renamed Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram Airport:- Uttar Pradesh Cabinet  has  approved the proposal to change the name of Ayodhya Airport to Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram Airport, Ayodhya,  Uttar Pradesh  . After being assed by the state assembly, the  proposal for the same  will be sent to the Ministry of Civil Aviation .Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath announced on the eve of Deepawali in November 2018 that Deepakotsav would have both international and domestic terminals in Ayodhya and could possibly be one of the largest airports in UP.

7.Lieutenant General Harpal Singh becomes the new Engineer-in-Chief of the Indian Army:- Lieutenant General Harpal Singh has appointed the new  engineer-in-chief  of the Indian Army . He is currently the Director General of Border Roads Organization  and will take charge for his new appointment on 1 December.  Alumni Lieutenant General Harpal Singh of National Defense Academy,  Khadakwasla was appointed to the Corps of Engineers on 24 December 1982. He later took over the command of the Border Roads, Task Force in the Jammu and Kashmir Valley. He has also been Chief Engineer (Navy) in Bhutan, Mumbai, and Chief Engineer of Project Dantak (BRO) at Chief Engineer Headquarters Eastern Command.
