President Draupadi Murmu calls upon Prime Minister TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to re-emphasize the country ‘s mission to eradicate TB by 2025Virtually launched. Speaking on the occasion, the President said that it is the duty of all citizens to give high priority to the Prime Minister’s TB-free India campaign and to make this campaign a mass movement, as TB is the cause of maximum death of all other infectious diseases in our country. He said that India’s population is a little less than 20 percent of the world’s population but more than 25 percent of the total TB patients in the world. This is a matter of concern. He said that most of the people suffering from TB disease belong to the poor section of the society. According to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, all countries have set a target of TB elimination by 2030, but the Government of India has set a target of TB elimination by the year 2025 and efforts are being made at every level to fulfill this resolution. On this occasion, President Murmu launched Nikshay 2.0.Initiative was also launched. Nikshay is a web-portal which is a platform for donors willing to provide various types of support to TB patients under treatment. The Nikshay Mitra initiative is based on the vision of mobilizing community support to end TB disease.

UN Secretary -General Antonio Guterres has appointed Austria ‘s Volker Turk as UN High Commissioner for Human Rights . His appointment has been made after the approval of the United Nations General Assembly. He is currently serving as the Under-Secretary-General in the United Nations Office to assist in global policy making. Prior to this, he was the Assistant High Commissioner at the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in Geneva. Mr. Volker Turk was instrumental in the preparation of the historic World Convention on Refugees.

According to the Human Development Report 2021-22 , India’s rank in this list of 191 countries in the Human Development Index (HDI) has come down from 130 in the year 2020 to 132 in the year 2022 , which is a global increase in HDI scores in the wake of the Kovid-19 pandemic. corresponding to the decline. This Human Development Report is published by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The HDI is a composite index that measures average achievement in human development taking into account four indicators:
- life expectancy at birth (Sustainable Development Goal 3),
- expected years of schooling (Sustainable Development Goal 4.3),
- average years of schooling (Sustainable Development Goal 4.4),
- Gross National Income (GNI) (Sustainable Development Goal 8.5).
90% of countries have reported a reduction in their Human Development Index value in 2020 or 2021, reversing progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. A major contributor to the decline of the Human Development Index is the global decline in life expectancy, which has declined from 72.8 years in 2019 to 71.4 years in 2021. India’s HDI value in 2021 was 0.633, lower than the world average of 0.732. In the year 2020 also, India registered a decline in its HDI value (0.642) as compared to the pre-Covid level of the year 2019 (0.645). The situation of India’s neighboring countries is slightly better than India in this UNDP report. Sri Lanka (73rd), China (79th), Bhutan (127th) and Bangladesh (129th) are above India in this list. The situation in Pakistan (161st), Nepal (143rd) and Myanmar (149th) is not good. Switzerland has been ranked first in the report. Then Norway, then Iceland,

6.Finance Ministry cracks down on illegal loan apps, directs RBI to prepare whitelist
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman chaired a meeting held to discuss various issues related to illegal loan apps outside the regular banking system . During the meeting, Smt. Sitaraman noted the growing cases of illegal loan apps offering loans at exorbitantly high interest rates to vulnerable and low-income groups and collection practices involving intimidation, criminal intimidation . He also drew attention to money laundering, tax evasion, data secrecy and the possibility of unregulated payment aggregators, pseudo-companies carrying out such acts. The ministry said that after detailed deliberations on the legal, procedural and technical aspects of the issue, it has been decided that the Reserve Bank of India will whitelist all legal apps.Will prepare The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology will ensure that only these whitelisted apps are made available on the App Store. Along with this, RBI will also ensure that the registration of payment aggregators is completed within a time limit and after that no unregistered payment aggregators are allowed to function. All ministries and agencies will take all possible action to stop the operation of such illegal loan apps.

The Finance Minister had said in the Union Budget for 2022-23 that the RBI would bring in a digital equivalent of the rupee in the current financial year. He said that India has an excellent, affordable and fast domestic payment system, but despite this, the cost of cross-border payments is still high.

In the first phase, it will be constructed at a cost of Rs 25 crore, in which hospital block, hostel, staff quarters etc. will be available in the campus in future.

Indian boxer Birju Shah passed away at the age of 48 in Jamshedpur , Jharkhand . Won bronze medals for India in the 1994 Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. Birju Shah was born in the year 1974. He was the first Indian boxer to win a medal at the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. At the age of 19, Birju Shah made India and India proud by winning the 1993 Asian Junior Championships in Bangkok, Thailand. He had won a bronze medal in the light flyweight (45-48 kg) category. He won hundreds of medals in various competitions including Bronze Medal in Common Wealth, Bronze Medal in 1994, Bronze Medal in Asian Championship in 1993.
