1.TRAI recommends using mobile and internet during air travel :-

People who travel in the country are going to get a big relief. Soon they can get the benefits of mobile and internet service during air travel. Telecom Regulatory Authority TRAI has recommended it on Friday. This service will be available on both satellite and terrestrial networks. In his recommendation on ‘In-Flight Connectivity’ (IFC), TRAI said that the Authority for IFC in the Indian airspace is recommending for Internet and Air Communications (MCA) in the air. In fact, the Department of Telecom had asked for opinion regarding the introduction of voice, data and video services from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on August 10, 2017. The benefits of this service are domestic, The aircraft that passes through the international and Indian territories. TRAI said that if there is no harmful interference, there should be flexibility for IFC service providers in the use of technology and frequencies in the aviation cabin for mobile services, which are in line with international standards. At the same time, in its recommendation, TRAI has recommended the benefit of this service to the extent of 3,000 meters in the Indian border area.

 

2.India’s highest foreign investment from Mauritius – RBI report :-

Which country would be the most foreign investment in a big economy like India? Recent reports from the Reserve Bank indicate that India is the country’s largest source of FDI. Mauritius is the country. This is followed by America and Britain. The country like Mauritius is stunned to be No. 1 in the case of investment in India, because Tax Haven Mauritius is also considered the route to whitewash India’s black money through hawala. This information has been given in the 2016-17 FDI report released by the Reserve Bank of India on Friday. According to the report, Singapore and Japan are fourth and fifth in terms of investment in India. Mauritius accounts for 21.8 percent of the total foreign investment made in India.

This information has been given in the RBI’s report on foreign liability and property of Indian direct investment companies. Of the 18,667 companies involved in the calculation made by the Reserve Bank, 17,020 companies have been included in the FINANCIAL FINANCES of March 2017, or their direct investment status abroad. According to this, “96 percent of companies are unlisted companies according to the status of March 2017 from the Janawari companies for this report of the Reserve Bank. Most of these companies received FDI directly. Instead of listed companies, there is a lot of FDI in non-listed companies.

 

3.India, Australia and Pakistan reached the quarter-finals of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup :-

4.President inaugurates the dynamic lighting system of the President’s Front :-

President Shri Ramnath Kovind inaugurated the dynamic lighting system of the front part of Rashtrapati Bhawan in the presence of Shri Hardeep Singh Puri and other dignitaries in the Union Minister of State (Urban) and Urban Affairs (Independent Charge) (January 19, 2018).

The dynamic lighting of the front part of the Rashtrapati Bhavan has been done to outline its beauty. To make the Rashtrapati Bhavan a spectacular total, 628 light fittings have been set up.

 

5.In the fourth round of Smart City Challenge, the name of Silvassa in the list of winning cities is top, Erode, Diu, Biharsharif, Itanagar and Kavaratti in this period, selection of Bareilly, Moradabad and Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh, till date 99 smart cities select :-

Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs (Independent Charge) Mr. Hardeep S. Puri has announced the names of the winners of the fourth round of National Smart City Challenge. Addressing a press conference here today, the Minister informed that the name of the city of Dadar and Nagar Haveli in the list of the winners of this phase of competition is named after the name of Silvassa. The other winners are the following cities:

Erode, Tamilnadu

Diu, Daman and Diu

Bihar Sharif, Bihar

Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh

Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh

Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh

6.MEITY launches Cyber Secure India to strengthen cyber security  :-

Considering the need to strengthen the cyber security system in India and according to the vision of ‘Digital India’ of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) organized a National e-Governance Division (NEGD) And announced the Cyber-Secure India Initiative in collaboration with the industry. Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology and Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge) Shri K.J. Mr. Alfonz, Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Mr. Ajay Prakash Sahni, Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice, Mr. Suresh Chandra, Mr. Sanjeev Gupta, President and CEO, Digital India Corporation, Mr. Anant Maheshwari, President of Microsoft India, Nasom nominated President Ms. Debjani Ghosh.

 

7.Shri Arun Jaitley, Union Minister of Central Finance and Corporate Affairs, launched the National CSR Data Portal and Corporate Data Portal in Delhi :-

Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Shri Arun Jaitley today launched the National CSR Data Portal and Corporate Data Portal in New Delhi. On this occasion, the Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and Law and Justice, Shri P.P. Chaudhary was also present.

Shri Arun Jaitley said that this initiative is an important step towards ensuring greater accountability and transparency in the corporate world of India . He said that by ensuring access to the general public on these portals, the Government will pave the way for high-level compliance and simultaneously providing CSR activities to institutionalized form, it will also strengthen them or consolidate them.
