Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the India International Convention and Exposure Center (IICC) in Dwarka, New Delhi today.

The Prime Minister said on this occasion that this center will show our consciousness towards India’s economic progress, rich cultural heritage and environmental protection. He said that it is a part of the government’s vision which values world-class infrastructure and business accessibility.

The Prime Minister reminded how the Central Government has started a series of projects for the development of the country. In this context, he discussed the longest tunnel, the longest gas pipeline, the largest unit making a mobile phone, and electricity in each family. He said that this is an example of the skill, shape and speed of all new India.

 

  1. Staff Selection Commission will recruit various posts in Group-B and Group-C –

Government of India Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Group-B (Non-Gazetted) / group has advertised for 130 categories of different positions in which , in terms of which will be filled 1136 vacancies in various departments / organizations. There are 299 vacancies in 36 categories of posts in the northern region of the Commission. Field wise details of all positions / vacancies and detailed notice / advertisement can be seen on www.ssc.nic.in as well as on the website of SSC’s Regional Offices in all Regional Offices.

Any applicant can apply for multiple positions in more than one area. Candidates will be selected on the basis of written examination, which will be in the form of computer based examination.

 

  1. More than 6.17 percent more tourists from the US than in the year 2017 –

The Ministry of Tourism has clarified that the number of tourists coming to the US from the US in the year 2017 has registered a positive growth of 6.17% compared to the year 2016. Since the year 2010, the arrival of foreign tourists from the US has never been reported in India.

However, a report from the US-based National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO) showed that the number of tourists visiting India from the US in the year 2017 has decreased by 7 percent compared to the year 2016. It has been reported in the report that in the year 2016 and 2017, there were 11 , 95 , 000 and 11 , 11 , 000 tourists arriving in India from the US respectively . According to the report released by NTTO, the number of passengers is based on the advanced travel information system of the US Department of Homeland Security, under which it is necessary for all airlines to enter the passenger data electronically for incoming and outgoing flights from the US. So it is clear that the source of data in this report is only the airline. In cases where there is no operation of direct flights between the US and India, about them it is final or transit destination of the passengers is not known whether these flights, is recorded as in India. Also, is not entered in this report depart from occurring rather than airports International Czech Post. So, it seems that the complete information about the number of passengers going abroad from the US is not in this report.

 

  1. Environment Ministry organized ‘Cleanliness Service’ –

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change today organized a ‘ Sanitary Self Service ‘ program in the premises of the Ministry of New Delhi.

On this occasion, Special Secretary and Director General (Forest) Shri Shanti Das, in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate, said that children have a very important role in cleanliness drive. He said that the Ministry has started its efforts to make all the protected areas (PAs) spread all over the country for making plastic free and clean. He emphasized more than the number needed to reduce the number of plastic plantations and single-use , in order to be able to clean the environment itself.

Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri A.K. Mehta said that ‘ cleanliness ‘ is actually linked to people’s good life and health very closely. He underlined that cleanliness is an integral part of Indian culture and tradition. He said that the ‘ Green Good Deeds ‘ campaign launched by Dr Harshwardhan includes 10 smallest activities for environmental protection. He said that schools should also be linked to this campaign.

Thanks to Anganwadi worker, honorarium and increase in allowances received from Prime Minister Modi – More than 100 Anganwadi workers from all over the country met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thanked them for their honorarium and increase in perks. During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized that it is necessary to give them nutritious food for the physical development of the children. Anganwadi workers can make important contributions in this. Referring to the program Nutrition Month being run in this direction, he said that this campaign should not stop. He said that the nutritious food items given for the children should be used appropriately. The Prime Minister said that Anganwadi workers can also contribute significantly in creating awareness about good habits in children as children listen carefully to their point of view.   1. Vishnu Khare, Vice President of Delhi Hindi Academy and Senior Journalist – Vishnu Khare, a well-known poet, journalist and Vice-President of Hindi Academy, died at GB Pant Hospital in Delhi. He was admitted to the hospital last week due to brain hemorrhage. He was kept in the ICU for two days. His funeral will be done on corporation Bodh Ghat. The 78-year-old had lived alone in a rented room in Hindustan Apartment in Mayur Vihar, Delhi. Vishnu Khare was born in Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh in 1940. After doing MA from English, he started his career as a Hindi journalist. He is an editor in many Hindi Hindi newspapers. Vishnu Khare was awarded the Night of the White Rose, Hindi Academy Award, Raghuveer Sahay Samman, Maithilisharan Gupt Samman, etc.

PM to lay foundation stone for India International Convention and Expo Centre – The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, will lay the foundation stone for India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC) at Dwarka, New Delhi, on September 20, 2018. Located in Sector 25, Dwarka, the Centre would be a world-class state-of-the-art Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre, with facilities like financial, hospitality and retail services. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.25,700 crores. The project is implemented by India International Convention & Exhibition Centre Limited, a 100% Government owned company under Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

 

  1. Exercise Aviaindra-18 Commences at Lipetsk (Russia) – Exercise Aviaindra is an Air Force level exercise between India and the Russian Federation. First Aviaindra was conducted in 2014 and has been planned as a bi-annual exercise. Exercise Aviaindra 18 is being conducted at Lipetsk, Russia from 17 Sep to 28 Sep 18 and will be conducted in Jodhpur, India from 10 Dec to 22 Dec 18. The Indian contingent for Ex Aviaindra departed for Russia on 15 Sep 18.

Team India take a big blow, out of the heartiest Pandya tournament – Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been out of the current Asia Cup due to injury in the waist and Deepak Chahar can be included in the team. BCCI sources confirmed that Chahar arrived here on Thursday. In the group match against Pakistan, Pandya was taken out of the field on Stretcher after injury, and it was feared that she would not be able to play in the tournament.This incident happened in the 18th over of Pakistan’s innings when the all-rounder was throwing his fifth over. After throwing the fifth ball, Pandya grabbed his waist and lay down on the field with a lot of pain. The Pandya could not get up after this and they were taken out of the field on the Stretcher. After this he was taken for medical examination. Later, the BCCI tweeted that Pandya had a back injury.

 

  1. ITU South Asia Office and Technology Innovation Centre to be established in New Delhi – The ITU South Asia Area Office and Technology Innovation Centre will be established in New Delhi. This was announced by Mr. Houlin Zhao, Secretary General (SG) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), during the 4th BRICS Communications Ministers Meeting held in Durban, South Africa recently. ITU is a United Nations specialized agency for Information and Communication Technologies, with membership of 193 countries and nearly 800 private sector entities and academic institutions.
