2.Vice President inspects indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant being built at Kochi Shipyard

Vice President . M. Venkaiah Naidu said Cochin Shipyard are being constructed in the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant observed. Senior officials from the shipyard and the Indian Navy briefed the Vice President about the features of INS Vikrant. About 23 thousand crore rupees have been spent on this ship. It has a maximum speed of 28 knots per hour and has the capability to carry thirty fighter jets and helicopters. The ship is likely to be handed over to the Indian Navy in August this year.

3.Jammu and Kashmir will be the first Union Territory to have a District Level Good Governance Index

Dr. Jitendra Singh , Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office has said that Jammu and Kashmir will be the first Union Territory where the Good Governance Index will be prepared at the district level . He said that the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances is working with the Jammu and Kashmir administration in this regard. Dr. Singh said that Good Governance Index would be prepared in all the twenty districts of the state, which would lead to administrative reforms in them. This index will help in disposal of files and other matters in the offices within stipulated time and will increase transparency, accountability and public participation.

4.V.S. Pathania takes over as Director General of Coast Guard

China has set a five-year roadmap to achieve its goal of becoming a global robotics innovation hub by 2025 .has announced. China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revealed that operating income from the country’s robotics industry is expected to grow by about 20% per year between 2021 and 2025. From 2016 to 2020, the sector expanded at an average growth rate of 15%. Operating income crossed 100 billion yuan ($15.69 billion) for the first time last year. To achieve its goal of becoming a worldwide robotics innovation center by 2025, China has proposed a strategy focusing on improving essential components such as servo motors and control panels. According to the 2021 World Robot Report, South Korea, Singapore and Japan were the top three most automated countries in the Asia-Pacific.

6.Road named after PM Narendra Modi in Sikkim

The road connecting Somgo Lake and Nathula Border in Sikkim with the capital Gangtok has been named after PM Narendra Modi . This newly constructed road has been officially inaugurated by Governor Ganga Prasad . The old route connecting Nathula border with Gangtok is named after the country’s first PM Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The road, about 19.51 km long, has been operational for passengers for a year, but now it has been officially inaugurated by the governor.

7.Supply of 50 Ton Bollard Pull Tug “Balraj” by M/s Hindustan Shipyard Limited to Naval Dockyard Visakhapatnam

Free trade agreement. India and the US are not members of RCEP. The 15-member s group accounts for 30% of the world’s population and 30% of the global GDP. Thus, it is the largest trade bloc in history. The goals of RCEP are to:

  1. Lower tariffs, open up trade in services and boost investment to help emerging economies progress with developed economies.
  2. Helping reduce cost and time for companies.

India did not join the RCEP, raising concerns that the deal would open it up to Chinese goods, and thus increase the trade balance with China.
