1.Defense Ministry approves opening of Border Roads Organization cafes on 75 border roads

The Defense Ministry has approved the opening of Border Roads Organization cafes on 75 border roads in twelve states and union territories . Its objective is to provide basic facilities to tourists and to provide employment to the local people besides promoting economic activities. The ministry has said that these cafes will be known as BRO cafes . In this scheme, these cafes will be set up under private and public partnership. These will be constructed and operated as per the guidelines of the Border Roads Organisation. Facilities like parking, restaurant, rest room and first aid will be available here.

2.Prime Minister will be on a three-day visit to Germany and the United Arab Emirates from June 26

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a three-day visit to Germany and the United Arab Emirates from 26th of this month . He will attend the summit of the Group of Seven countries in Schloss Elmau , Germany on 26th and 27th . Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Britain, America and the European Union in the G-7Are included. He is expected to share his views on issues such as environment, energy, climate, food security, health, and democracy during the summit. Other countries like Argentina, Indonesia, Senegal and South Africa have also been invited to this conference. During the summit, Mr. Modi will also meet with leaders of some countries. After attending the summit, Prime Minister Modi will visit the United Arab Emirates on 28th to express his condolences on the passing away of former President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He will also congratulate the new President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on his election as the President.

3.100% electrification of Konkan Railway network

4.External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on a four-day visit to Rwanda from today to attend the Summit of Commonwealth Heads of Government

Indian Space Research Organization – ISRO successfully launched the communication satellite G-SAT 24 from the Ariane Launch Center in Kourou , French Guiana in the early hours. ISRO has built GSAT-24 for NewSpace India Limited – NSIL . GSAT-24 is a 24 Ku band communication satellite weighing four thousand one hundred and eighty kilograms, which will meet the requirements of DTH app across India. This is the first demand driven communication satellite mission of NewSpace India Limited after the reforms in the space sector. NSIL is a Government of India company under the Department of Space which has leased out the entire satellite capability to Tata Play .

9.US bans imports from China’s Xinjiang region

12.Indian Coast Guard inducts newly upgraded Light Helicopter Squadron 840 CG

17.Antibiotic overuse causes typhoid fever to become drug resistant

The bacteria that cause typhoid fever are becoming more resistant to widely used antibiotics , according to the study published in The Lancet Microbe Journal . Typhoid fever kills 11 million people and causes over 100,000 deaths per year. South Asia accounts for 70% of the global disease burden. Typhoid fever is a life-threatening infection caused by the bacterium Salmonella enterica serovar typhi (commonly known as Salmonella typhi) that is transmitted only by humans. No other animal carriers have yet been found.

18.Indians’ money in Swiss banks exceeds Rs 30 lakh crore in 2021
