1.Joint military exercise between India and Sri Lanka to be held from October 4

The eighth edition of ‘ Mitra Shakti ‘, a joint military exercise between India and Sri Lanka , will be held from October 4 to 15. One hundred and twenty armed personnel of the Indian Army will participate in this military exercise along with the battalion of the Sri Lanka Army. The Defense Ministry has said that the objective of the military exercise is to promote closer ties between the armies of the two countries, interoperability progress and sharing of best practices for counter-terrorism and counter-terrorist operations. During this, tactical level exercises will be conducted at the sub-unit level in an international counter-terrorism environment. The military exercise will help in further strengthening the ties between the two South Asian countries. It will act as a catalyst in enhancing synergy and cooperation at the ground level between the two armies.

2.India becomes first country in the world to commercially produce nano urea: Mansukh Mandaviya

Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya has said that India has become the first country in the world to commercially produce Nano Urea . IFFCO , a leading cooperative organization that introduced Nano Urea in the country, successfully conducted a successful trial of spraying Nano Urea through a drone. The test was conducted yesterday in Bhavnagar, Gujarat in the presence of Shri Mandaviya. Shri Mandaviya informed that liquid nano urea will bring economic savings to the farmers, increase productivity and reduce India’s dependence on urea imports.

On the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in Leh in the Union Territory of Ladakh , the world’s largest tricolor made of Khadi weighing more than one thousand kilograms , two hundred 25 feet long and one hundred and 50 feet wide, was unfurled. This hand-woven tricolor has been prepared by Khadi Diors and Printers based in Mumbai, affiliated to the Khadi Village and Industries Commission .

8.Unique Identification Authority of India opens 55 new Aadhaar Seva Kendras across the country to improve Aadhaar enrollment and data

Unique Identification Authority of India-UIDAI has opened 55 Aadhaar Seva Kendras under 166 Stand-alone Aadhaar Enrollment and Updation Centers scheme in 122 cities across the country. These centers are in addition to the nearly 52,000 Aadhaar enrollment centers run by banks, post offices and state governments. These centers will be open on all days of the week. So far, more than 70 lakh people including differently-abled persons have availed this service from these centres. These centers will remain open from 9 am to 5.30 pm. Aadhaar enrollment is free. A nominal fee of Rs 50 for demographic update and Rs 100 for biometric update with demographic update will have to be paid.
