    1. Union Minority Affairs Minister Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi :-

    Union Minority Affairs Minister Mr. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said that the government has started a campaign at war level to provide basic amenities to ensure the educational empowerment of girls having minority communities in 308 districts across the country. While addressing the National Conference of Principal Secretaries / In-Charge Secretaries looking at Minority Affairs in the States / Union Territories, Shri Naqvi said that the Central Government should keep the girls of minority community empowerment and development of employment oriented skills in them.

     

    1. State Governments have to play an important role in the quick implementation of education projects / schemes in aspiring districts: Shri Prakash Javadekar :-

    Union Human Resource Development Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar today urged all the states to meet the goals of equality, accessibility and excellence, in accordance with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, in the 117 aspiring districts, along with the quality of education as well as education. To improve the infrastructure related to the infrastructure, under ‘RUSA’ and ‘Total Education’

    Addressing the Education Ministers and Secretaries of the States through video conferencing from the Union Education Minister, the special emphasis was placed on the fact that States have to play an important role in the quick implementation of special schemes in these aspiring districts.

    1. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met Bahraini Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman al Khalifa and discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations :-

    External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met with Bahrain’s Shah Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Prime Minister Khaleda Bin Salman Al Khalifa and discussed ways of strengthening bilateral relations.

    Smt. Swaraj reached Manama on a two-day trip. They chaired the second Joint Commission meeting with Bahrain Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmad Al Khalifa.

    Foreign Ministry spokesman Ravi Kumar said in a tweet that in a meeting with Mrs Swaraj and Bahrain’s Shah Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, discussions were on to increase cooperation in science and technology, renewable energy and other areas.

     

    1. France defeated Croatia 4-2 in the title of the FIFA Football World Cup; England captain Harry Kane awarded the Golden Boot :-

    France has won the Football World Cup title for the second time. In the final of the Russian capital Moscow, he beat Croatiais 4-2 in the final. Croatia, with a population of only 40 million, proved their worth and broke the big teams’ tire, but in the final, they did not have one in front of France’s shout. If Croatia did not make a suicide goal in the 18th minute, then the story of the final was something else.

    Croatia’s suicide goal gave France an edge, which then went on strengthening it. France made a 4-1 lead in the 65th minute and ensured possession over the title.

    Croatia scored their second goal in the 69th minute but after this, their players could not distinguish France’s strong defense. Croatia’s team certainly did not win the title, but its players, like a winner, would proudly head back home. Croatia captain Luca Modarich was awarded the Golden Ball for his best performance in the World Cup.

     

    1. Letter to PM Modi on Rahul Gandhi’s Women’s Reservation Bill :-

    Even before the monsoon session begins, the Congress has started attacking the BJP. Congress President Rahul Gandhi has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media demanding the introduction of a women reservation bill in the monsoon session of Parliament. Rahul has said that the Congress is ready to support women reservation bill without any condition. The monsoon session of Parliament will last from 18 July to 10 August.

    The BJP is preparing to bring three divorce bills in the monsoon session. It is said that this is a reversal of the Congress on the BJP’s three divorced bills. Rahul Gandhi wrote in the letter that women should get 33 per cent reservation in Parliament and Legislative Assemblies under the Women’s Reservation Bill. He said that UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi also wrote a letter to the government last year.

     

    1. Rajnath Singh co-chairs the 6th meeting of India-Bangladesh Home Minister level talks :-

    The Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh co-chaired the 6th meeting of the Home Minister level talks with his Bangladesh counterpart, Mr. Asaduzzaman Khan in Dhaka. During the meeting, all security related matters of interest including counter-terrorism, capacity building and increased cooperation between security agencies, border management, countering illegal activities like fake currency, drug and human trafficking, consular issues etc. were discussed.

    The two Ministers also witnessed the signing of the Revised Travel Arrangement 2018 (RTA 2018) amending the earlier RTA 2013 for further liberalizing the visa regime between the two countries, including enhanced duration for employment and student visas.

     

    1. MCA constituted Committee to review the offences under the Companies Act, 2013 :-

    The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has constituted a 10 Member Committee, headed by the Secretary of Ministry of Corporate Affairs, for review of the penal provisions in the Companies Act, 2013. The MCA seeks to review offences under the Companies Act, 2013 as some of the offences may be required to be decriminalised and handled in an in-house mechanism, where a penalty could be levied in instances of default. This would also allow the trial courts to pay more attention on offences of serious nature.

     

    1. India becomes Vice Chair of the Asia Pacific Region of World Customs Organisation :-

    India has become the Vice-Chair (Regional Head) of the Asia Pacific Region of World Customs Organisation (WCO) for a period of two years, from July, 2018 to June, 2020. The WCO has divided its Membership into six Regions. Each of the six Regions is represented by a regionally elected Vice-Chairperson to the WCO Council. Being the Vice Chair of AP Region of WCO will enable India to take on leadership role. WCO represents 182 Customs administrations across the globe that collectively process approximately 98% of world trade.

     

    10. India must bowl disciplined against England :-

    India lost their second one-day match at Lords, taking a little bit of trouble. India bowled a lot of runs in the last ten overs on the less helpful pitch for the bowlers and from here the match got slipped away.
