  • The Center has recognized a total of 236 training institutes across the country for training Khelo India athletes under the Khelo India scheme . In a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur informed that the Khelo India initiative envisages support to National, Regional and State Sports Training Centers. He said, under this scheme, 360 Khelo India Centers and 24 Khelo India State Centers of Excellence have been notified. He informed that under the state level Khelo India Center scheme, his ministry has decided to set up one thousand Khelo India Centers across the country.
