    It is in the context of an article published on July 8, 2018 in an English daily newspaper based in Delhi, in which some incomplete figures have been given regarding the Prime Minister’s Accommodation Scheme (Urban). The correct data are the following:

    Within three years of the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), 51 lakh residential units have been sanctioned against the demand of crore houses. This is a major leap in comparison to the previous housing scheme in which only 12.4 lakh households have been approved within nine years of implementation.

    Out of 51 lakh approved houses, 28 lakh houses have been completed and they are in various stages of fulfillment. Apart from this, more than 8 lakh households have already been prepared and already have been started by the beneficiaries in about 8 lakh households.

     

    2.Union Human Resources Development Prakash Javadekar will inaugurate the 17th World Sanskrit Conference in Vancouver, Vancouver  :-

    Central Human Resource Development Shri Prakash Javadekar will inaugurate the 17th World Sanskrit Conference to be held in Vancouver, Vancouver from July 9 to July 13, 2018.

    Over 500 scholars and delegates from over 40 countries will participate in this conference and exchange their knowledge by presenting research papers on various topics. A special panel will be discussed on more than a dozen subjects such as research on gynegya astrology, research on gynegyaism, women’s education in history and Vedic literature, Sanskrit Buddhism Manusmriti, furthermore from the yoga math, the place for Sankhidya’s Samkhya, presenting Bhagwat Puran commentators. .

    During the five-day conference, more than 500 research papers are expected to be presented on various topics. The purpose of this conference is to promote, preserve, and practice Sanskrit language by people around the world. World Sanskrit Conference is organized once in three years in different countries around the world and it has been organized three times in India.

     

    3.Britain launches new visa, Indian scientists-scholars will benefit :-

    The UK government has launched a new visa for scientists and scholars on Saturday to push ahead the research sector in the country. Under this new visa, researchers , scientists and scholars who came out of the European Union will be given a UK visa for two years.

    Many other countries including India can take advantage of this new visa. Launching the new visa, Immigration Minister Caroline Knox said that new visa will help international researchers to work in the UK and take training.

    The Immigration Minister said , ” Our visa plan should be such that it attracts international researchers every year and we get the benefit of their talents. We believe science plays an important role in our economy and society. ” He said that Britain will always invites scientists around the world. Let us know that the new visa policy will be conducted by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) , which covers seven research councils across the country.

     

    4.Kasturirangan Samiti constituted to draft new education policy was extended till 31st August this year :-

    The Central Human Resource Development Ministry constituted to draft a new education. Kasturirangan committee has extended its term till August 31 this year. A senior official of the ministry said that the committee requested the extension of the term to finalize the education policy. The decision to increase the tenure has been done for the third time. Originally, the committee had to give its report in 2017.

    In the absence of Shri Kasturirangan, there are eight members, including Mathematician Manjul Bhargava. The Kasturirangan Samiti will also consider the report of the Committee constituted under the chairmanship of former Cabinet Secretary TSR Subramanian by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. Subramanian Committee submitted its report to the government in May 2016. This report suggested ways to make the education sector strong. This area belongs to more than 300 million students. The government had decided that further advice should be made and Subramanyan Committee’s report should be used as useful tips for future draft but it should not be considered as the final draft. Kasturirangan Samiti was constituted following this.

     

    1. 750 MW Rewa Solar Power Project started in Madhya Pradesh :-

    750 MW Rewa Solar Power Project started working in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday. This is the country’s first project which will provide solar power to the Delhi Metro under interstate supply. Rewa Solar Power is India’s first and only project that has received funding from Clean Technology Fund.

    Rewa Solar Power Plant is one of the world’s largest single sector solar power plants. From the commencement of this project, during the total time of this plant, Madhya Pradesh Electricity Department will save Rs. 4,600 crore and the Delhi Metro will save Rs. 1400 crores. According to a release issued by Madhya Pradesh Energy Development Corporation Limited, Rewa Solar Power Project will stop emission of 15 million four lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide every year. This will help us to make our environment even better.

     

    6.For the first time a Hindu woman will contest the assembly elections in Sindh province of Pakistan :-

    For the first time in Sindh province of Pakistan, a Hindu female provincial assembly is contesting the minority community. In the elections to be held on July 25, 31-year-old Sunita Parmar will contest from the Tharparkar district as an Independent candidate for the Sindh Assembly.

     

    7.Mukesh Ambani appointed Chairman and Chairman of RIL for five years :-

    Shareholders of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) have stamped the appointment for Mukesh Ambani’s tenure as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) for the next five years. The company said that in the 41st Annual General Meeting held in Mumbai on Thursday , shareholders have approved the proposal for re-appointment of Ambani for five years from April 19 next year . The company said in the information given to the stock exchanges that 98.5 % of shareholders participating in the voting for the proposal, in favor of making Ambani again , while 1.48 % voted in the opposition.

    Offer according to Ambani in terms of annual salary 4.17 crore , allowances and other items 59 will lakh. The company said that they would also be entitled to bonuses in the company’s annual net profit position. Apart from this , the company will also bear expenses of their travel , accommodation and other items from business objectives . During the journey, they will be able to take the spouse and associate with them and their expenditure will also be borne by the company.

     

    8.Nearly two lakh farmers in Haryana are under the purview of Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme :-

    So far, nearly two lakh farmers have come under the purview of the Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme in Haryana. Under this scheme, farmers are compensated  not only on crop loss but also on lower yield due to natural calamities . This is the first time that farmers are being compensated on low yield. With the Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme of our correspondent Ashwani Kumar from Chandigarh, farmers have received great relief from the farmers. Since the start of the scheme in 2016, more than two lakh twenty thousand farmers of the state have taken advantage of the scheme. Anil Kumar, farmer of Bibipur village, Shahabad of Ambala district, said that this scheme is very beneficial.

    9.Sensex climbs 245 points across 35900, open near Nifty 10850 :-

    The Indian stock market is open with a rise in Monday’s session. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) ‘s index Sensex has climbed 245 points to 35931 and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) index Nifty is trading 59 points higher at the level of 10831. The fastest Bajaj Auto is in Tata Steel’s shares. Bajaj Auto’s counter surged by 1.66 per cent to 3073 and Yes Bank was trading at the level of 358 with the increase of 1.82 per cent. Mid-cap on the National Stock Exchange is 0.62 per cent and Smallcap 0.90 per cent.

     

    10.India won the first Twenty20 series in England, Rohit’s glorious century in the captaincy of Virat :-

    The last match of the three T20 matches between India and England was played in Bristol. In this match, the Indian team won the T20 Series by defeating England’s team by 7 wickets on Rohit Sharma’s unbeaten century. In this match, Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, the England team scored 198 runs in 9 overs in the 20 overs. India won the target of 199 runs to win the team India 3 wickets in 18.4 overs. In the captaincy of Virat, the Indian team won the T20 series for the first time in England.
