1.Meeting of Deputy Election Commissioner with Political Parties and Officials regarding preparations for Karnataka assembly elections :-

In connection with the preparations for the forthcoming assembly elections in Karnataka, Election Commission officials led by Election Commissioner Umesh Sinha held meetings with state government officials and representatives of political parties in Bangalore on Tuesday. Chief Secretary Ratan Prabha, Director General of Police Nilamani Raju and Chief Electoral Officer Sanjeev Kumar were present in the meeting. Officers of Election Commission, through video conferencing, also spoke about the preparations of the districts along with the Deputy Commissioners and the Superintendents of Police.

 

2.Madras High Court dismisses petition demanding cancellation of TTV Dinakaran’s by-election :-

In Tamil Nadu, the Madras High Court, T.V., the rebel leader of All India Anna DMK Party. In the assembly by-election of Dinakaran, R.K. The city has rejected the petition seeking the cancellation of the victory over the seat. The PIL alleged that the funds were distributed on a large scale to win the election.

 

3.Tamilnadu Government will give bonus to C and D category employees :-

The Tamil Nadu government has announced bonuses for employees of C and D category after the upcoming Pongal festival. State Finance Department has said in its order that these employees should be given bonus equal to one month’s salary, but the maximum bonus for the bonus will be three thousand rupees. Employees of semi-government organizations will be given a bonus of one thousand rupees.

 

4.In the northern parts of the country, cold and cold :-

The cold wave has increased in the northern parts of the country. Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh are in the grip of the cold and dense fog of Kadak. Twenty-two trains were canceled due to fog and changes were made in eight hours. 45 trains coming in the northern parts of the country were delayed. In Delhi, the minimum temperature was four degrees two degrees Celsius, which is three degrees below normal.

According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature in Srinagar reached zero to six degrees two degrees Celsius which is the minimum temperature of this season.

On the other hand, the southern part of Nepal is most affected by lowland cold and dense fog. Two more people have died in the cold.

 

5.Indians welcome welcome to Trump administration decision :-

Indians settled in the US welcomed the decision not to end the facility of extension of the H-1B visa of the Trump Administration. This decision was expected to lead to talent migration. In the USA, it could also damage the business. American Indian-American Raja Krishnamurthy has said that he welcomes this decision of US citizenship and transit service.

The US administration had made it clear on Tuesday that there is no proposal to order H-1B visa holders to leave the country.

 

6.South Korea’s President says they will not leave the Korean peninsula free of nuclear weapons :-

South Korea’s President Moon Jaane says that making the Korean Peninsula free from nuclear weapons is a goal that can not be left. But he also said that he does not want immediate integration of North and South Korea.

He said that our aim is to ensure that both Korea jointly decide that this peninsula is to make a nuclear free zone. Moon said this at a press conference held on New Year.

 

7.The sensitivity index of the Bombay Stock Exchange reached 34 thousand 565 :-

The BSE Sensex index rose 122 points to open at the highest level of 34 thousand 565. In the last four sessions, it has increased six and a half times. In the Nifty index of fifty stocks, there has been an increase of more than 1800 points and it reached ten thousand 655.

The Rupee Rupee in the Interbank Foreign Exchange Market today was 22 paise stronger than the dollar. A dollar 63 rupees 98 paise was spoken.

 

8.Supreme Court orders JAL to provide information about residential projects :-

The Supreme Court has asked Real Estate Company Jaiprakash Associates Limited (JAL) to furnish information about residential projects being run by them across the country. The court again on Wednesday directed that JAL’s directors will not transfer their personal assets.

A bench headed by Chief Justice Deepak Mishra also directed Justice Mitra Pawan Agarwal to make a portal to pay attention to complaints from JAL to buy house.

 

9.The Union Cabinet has approved the automatic approval of 100 per cent foreign direct investment in single brand retail :-

The Union Cabinet has revised the FDI policy. This will facilitate direct foreign investment and business turnover in the country and increase in income and employment.

Government approval in single brand retail business will no longer be necessary. The government has approved 100 per cent foreign investment in it automatically. Currently 49 percent foreign direct investment was allowed. More investment was required from the government.

 

10.India will showcase its vast business opportunities and path performance reforms in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland: Suresh Prabhu :-

Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu has said that India will showcase its vast business opportunities and path-breaking reforms in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. He said that it includes improvements made for foreign direct investment, which led to the investment of $ 100 billion in India in the last three and a half years.

Meeting of the World Economic Forum will be held from January 23 to 26. The creation of shared future in the divided world is the subject of this year’s meeting. Mr. Prabhu said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the meeting and share his views with top business leaders of the world.

 

11.Railway introduces new online vendor registration system :-

Railways have introduced a new online vendor registration system to make systems, processes and digital transparency. This new system is prepared by the research branch of the Ministry of Railways, the research design and standard organization after a comprehensive review.
