1.This year, 1,75,025 pilgrims from India will go to Hajj :-
Union Minority Affairs Minister Mr. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that for the first time since Independence this year, 1,75,025 Muslim pilgrims from India will go to Hajj and that too without any subsidy. Mr. Naqvi was addressing a training camp organized for Haj ‘Khadim Ul Hujaz’ in Haj House, Mumbai.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the government has managed to increase the Haj quota of India for the second consecutive year and for the first time since independence this year, 1,75,025 pilgrims from India will go to Hajj 2018.
2.Naval Chief Admiral Sunil Lamba to attend Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) -2018 on Tehran, Iran :-
The sixth edition of the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IOS) and Conclave of Chiefs is being hosted by Iran in Tehran from 23 to 25 April 2018. The Naval Chief is leading a four-member Indian delegation to this ceremony.
The concept of IONS was done by the Indian Navy in 2008. Regularly important maritime peers between naval navies of the coastal countries of this forum of the Indian Ocean region, through which a common understanding can develop for the future, strengthening mutual cooperation through providing an open and inclusive forum for discussion.
3.Modi government’s stupendous achievements, accounts for more than 31 crore accounts, deposits amounting to 80000 crore :-
The Prime Minister’s Jan Dhan Yojana, the important government of the Modi government, has achieved great success. The number of its account holders increased to 31.45 crores on April 11, 2018, while deposits amounted to more than 80 thousand crores. This information has been given in official data.
Under the scheme known as ‘Janhanan’, bank accounts have been opened for the first time in the larger part of the country’s population. This scheme, launched in August 2014, is unique in the world. These facilities are available with the public – banking, savings, deposits, transactions, loans, insurance and pension. The World Bank has appreciated the continuous growth since March 2017, according to the data released by the Finance Ministry, in the deposit amount of Janhana Yojana, continuous increase has been happening since March 2017.
4.Wang Yi will be China’s new special representative for border talks with India :-
China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi will be the new Special Representative for the China border talks. Wang has replaced his senior colleague Yang Zhichi, who has now become a Politburo member of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Tell us that the appointment of 64-year-old Wang 64 was confirmed on Sunday when External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj congratulated her on appointing special representatives for Indo-China border talks. Wang made bilateral talks with Sushma.
5.On the order of the Supreme Court, the Pakistani government removed security of many leaders including Nawaz Sharif :-
By taking an unexpected step, the Pakistan administration has withdrawn police protection given to several leaders including former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. This move has been taken up by the Chief Justice of Pakistan Supreme Court Mian Shakib Nisar, on April 19, the verdict given. The verdict was ordered to remove the safety of those influential people within 24 hours, which is not entitled to it. The Chief Justice also directed the police chiefs of Punjab, Balochistan, Sindh and Islamabad to file an affidavit in the hearing on April 23.
6.Rajasthan Royals win on home ground, Mumbai beat by 3 wickets :-
Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians were face-to-face in the 21st match of the IPL 2018 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. In the highly contested match, Rajasthan finally won by 3 wickets on their home ground. In this match, Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. Earlier, batting first, Mumbai scored 167 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Rajasthan had to score 168 runs to win and they achieved this target with 3 wickets remaining in 19.4 overs.
7.Ordinance of death sentence for those who have been abused after the President’s approval, Ordinance for seizing properties of criminals leaving the country :-
President Ramnath Kovind has approved the Criminal Law Amendment Ordinance 2018. Ordinance has been implemented after the President’s approval. This Ordinance has been amended in the Indian Penal Code, Indian Evidence Act, Criminal Procedure Code and Child Sexual Offenses Protection Act.
In the ordinance, in the matter of rape with girls below sixteen years, the minimum sentence has been increased from ten years to twenty years. It can also be extended to life imprisonment. Now all cases of misbehavior should be examined and completed within two months. Besides, provision has also been made to not give advance bail to the accused of gangrape or gang rape with a girl under the age of sixteen years. Recently, this step was taken in view of the alleged rape and murder of minor girls in Kathua of Jammu and Kashmir, Unnao in Uttar Pradesh and Surat district of Gujarat.
The President has also implemented the Fugitive Economic Offenses Ordinance 2018. Under this, there is a provision for seizing properties of fugitive economic criminals. Banks and other financial institutions will be helped to recover debt from fugitive criminals.
8.Reserve Bank of India, K.Y.C. to open a bank account. Modified Guidelines :-
Reserve Bank of India has changed the guidelines of KYC to know its customer. The Reserve Bank has said that in June last year, the parameters have been revised following the decision of the government to change the Prevention of Money Laundering Rules.In the circular issued in Mumbai, the Reserve Bank of India has made it mandatory to link the base with bank accounts.
However, the mandatory requirement of Aadhar card will depend on the final decision of the Supreme Court. Up to now, important documents of KYC have to be submitted officially as a proof of home address, permanent accounting issued by the income tax department i.e. PAN card and passport size photographs. But now, according to the revised procedure, the need for submitting Aadhaar number, PAN number or Form number -60 will be required. Residents of Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya have been exempted from this. In their case, if they can not prove the proof of application for the base or the base, then it is sufficient to get a certified copy of the valid document and photo.
9.Vijay Goel inaugurated Central Project Monitoring Unit for e-legislation project :-
Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Vijay Goel inaugurated the new office of Central Project Monitoring Unit for the e-legislation project of the government in Parliament House Annexe .
This was done as a part of the sanitation of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs fortnight. The e-legislation project is part of the government’s comprehensive Digital India program, which can significantly reduce the use of paper and contribute to cleanliness and the environment.
10.Cabinet approves publication of fugitive economic offender ordinance :-

The Union Cabinet has approved the release of the fugitive economic offenders ordinance, 2018 , which gives the government the right to seize their home assets as a financial criminal of such people by a relevant court.
To declare a person as a fugitive economic offender, under the Ordinance Money Laundering Act, 2002, the Ordinance has a provision of ‘Special Court’.
