President  Draupadi Murmu   presented the 69th National Film Awards  in  New Delhi today  . President Murmu   honored  eminent actress Waheeda Rehman  with  the Dadasaheb Phalke Award . Nikhil Mahajan  was   given the National Award for Best Director  for  the Marathi film Godavari .  Allu Arjun was given   the Best Actor Award for the film Pushpa . Alia Bhatt was  jointly   awarded  the Best Actress award for Gangubai Kathiawadi  and  Kriti Sanon for Mimi . R. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,  directed by  Madhavan  , was awarded  the Best Feature Film  . Pallavi Joshi was awarded the National Award  for Best Supporting Actress for The Kashmir Files and  Pankaj Tripathi  was awarded the National Award for Best Supporting Actor for Mimi. The film  R.R.R  was given the Best Popular Film Overall Entertainment and The Kashmir Files  directed by   Vivek Agnihotri  was given the Nargis Dutt Award for the Best Film on National Integration. Ek Tha Gaon,  directed by  Srishti Lakhera,  was awarded the Best Non-Feature Film.  Shreya Goshal got  the Best Female Playback Singer award for the song Mayava-Chayava from the film Iravan Nizhal and  Kaal Bhairav  ​​got the Best Male Playback Singer award for the song Komuram Bheemdu from the film R.R.R.

2 PM launches marine projects worth Rs 23,000 crore

The Prime Minister   also unveiled the Amrit Kaal Vision 2047  as a roadmap for  the Indian Blue Ocean Economy .  In line with this forward-looking plan, the Prime Minister launched projects worth more than Rs 23 thousand crores on the occasion of the inauguration of the summit. He dedicated many of these projects to the nation and inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various projects. This summit will provide an excellent platform to attract investment in the maritime sector of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi   inaugurated the third edition of the Global Maritime India Summit 2023 through video conferencing. This summit   will continue till October 19 at MMRDA grounds in Mumbai . This biggest event has  been organized  by the Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways .

3 PM reviews progress of Gaganyaan mission; Called on scientists to aim to build an Indian space station by 2035 and send astronauts to the Moon by 2040

Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  has directed that India  should now set new and ambitious targets including setting up  an Indian space station by 2035  and  sending the first Indian to the Moon by 2040 . To realize this vision, the Department of Space should develop a roadmap for Moon exploration. This will include a series of Chandrayaan missions, development of next generation launch vehicles, construction of a new launch pad and establishment of human-centric laboratories and related technologies. Mr Modi chaired a high-level meeting to assess the progress of India’s Gaganyaan mission and chart the future of India’s space exploration efforts. The first demonstration flight of the Crew Escape System Test Vehicle is scheduled for the 21st of this month. The meeting evaluated the readiness of the mission and confirmed its launch in 2025.

4 PM Modi’s new Garba song Maadi released

 Garba song ‘Madi’ written by Prime Minister Narendra Modi   has been released  on the first day of  Navratri . This song has been shared on the social media platforms of PM Narendra Modi. Divya Kumar  has given his voice to this song  . Whereas,  Meet Brothers  have composed this song. This song   is in Gujarati language . ‘Maadi’ is the second song that PM Modi has written for Navratri this year. Recently he revealed that   he has written another song named Garbo .

5 Supreme Court refuses to legalize gay marriage

The Supreme Court  has   refused to amend the Special Marriage Act  to legalize  gay marriage . The court has also refused to remove Section 4 of the law to allow same-sex couples to marry under the law. A five-judge bench headed by Chief Justice  DY Chandrachud  agreed with the central government’s argument that the amendment to the law could affect other laws. Other members of the bench included Justice SK Kaul, Justice Ravindra Bhatt, Justice Hima Kohli and Justice PS Narasimha. The bench unanimously decided not to amend the Act to allow gay marriage in the country. The court has advised the Central Government to constitute a high-level committee under the chairmanship of the Cabinet Secretary to look into the concerns of same-sex couples including ration cards, pension, gratuity and inheritance.

6 Shri Dharmendra Pradhan launches IndiaSkills 2023-24

Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship,  Shri Dharmendra Pradhan  launched  IndiaSkills 2023-24 and felicitated the WorldSkills 2022 winners  at an event held at   Kaushal Bhawan,  New Delhi . India   has secured 11th position in the global competition, which is its best ranking so far. A short video showcasing the journey of WorldSkills 2022 was also shown at the event. The World Skills Competition is the world’s largest skills competition, held once every two years. It is run by WorldSkills International, which has 86 member countries. These competitions provide both a benchmark for high performance and an objective way to assess business excellence. The duration of the competition is 4 days, 16 to 22 hours. The WorldSkills Competition 2022 was held from September to November 2022 across Europe, North America and East Asia, featuring over 1,000 competitors from 58 countries across 61 skills. The competition was hosted by 15 countries in more than 20 cities. India participated in 50 skills and finished 11th at the WSC 2022 with 2 silver medals, 3 bronze medals and 13 medals for excellence, its best ever ranking in the World Skills Competition.

7 UN-approved Multinational Security Mission in Haiti

Recently,  the United Nations Security Council (UNSC)  approved  a Kenya  -led  Multinational Security Mission (MSS)  to establish security in Haiti  , protect critical infrastructure, and control rising violence. Haiti is facing increasing gang violence, causing chaos and unrest throughout the country. A group of gangs known as the “G9 and Family” have disrupted the main fuel port and capital city of Port-au-Prince, sparking a nationwide crisis. This resulted in the killing of approximately 2,800 people across the country between October 2022 and June 2023. Many human rights groups have reported an increase in sexual violence and crimes against women. Additionally, widespread looting and burning of homes has led to the displacement of thousands of people, with approximately 200,000 people forced to flee their homes. According to estimates, about half the population is in need of humanitarian assistance. The Prime Minister of Haiti contacted the international community calling for special armed forces to combat the gangs and their supporters.

8 Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar unveiled the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Ho Chi Minh city of Vietnam

External Affairs Minister  Dr. S. Jaishankar  said that  Mahatma Gandhi  is a source of inspiration for diplomacy in a world surrounded by conflict and violence. He said that the United Nations has acknowledged Mahatma Gandhi’s contribution towards truth, non-violence and people’s freedom   by declaring his birthday as the International Day of Non-Violence . At the unveiling ceremony of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue   in  Ho Chi Minh city of Vietnam,  Dr. Jaishankar said that his thoughts are a very powerful inspiration for human dignity, social values, spirituality, environment, sustainability, cleanliness and many other areas.

9 Jaishankar unveils Rabindranath Tagore statue in Vietnam

Foreign Minister  Dr. S. Jaishankar  unveiled the statue of Rabindranath Tagore  in  Bac Ninh  ,   Vietnam  . During this, Jaishankar said that I am happy to know that the works of Rabindranath Tagore are widely recognized in Vietnam, read and appreciated throughout the country. Even included in Vietnamese textbooks.

10. Parshottam Rupala inaugurated the international conference, the aim is to improve fisheries management in the Indo-Pacific region.

Union Fisheries Minister  Parshottam Rupala  has said that there has been a lot of development in fisheries and its related industries in India.  India’s fish exports have increased by more than 17.4 million tonnes in the last nine years, he said at the International Food and Agriculture Organization conference  in   Mahabalipuram  near Chennai . He said that  India  has become the second largest fish producing country in the world . Shri Rupala   extended an open invitation for the first Global Fisheries Conference  to be held in  Gujarat on 21st and 22nd November  this   year on the occasion of  World Fisheries Day . Representatives of 18 countries including America, Japan, Italy, China, France, Ireland, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh are participating in this conference.

11 Pradhan Mantri Agricultural Irrigation Scheme–Department of Land Resources and National Remote Sensing Center signed an MoU

Department of Land Resources and National Remote Sensing Center  signed   an MoU in New Delhi  for monitoring the second phase of  Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana – Water Shed Development Component . Its objective  is to establish ecological balance through the use and conservation of natural resources like soil and water  .  This MoU was signed in the presence of Ajay Tirkey, Secretary, Department of Earth Resources   and  Somnath , Secretary, Department of Space. Shri Somnath said that this will help in better utilization of barren land and ground water recharging.

12 This year, ‘Ayurveda Day’ will be organized on the theme of ‘Ayurveda for One Health’.

This year  Ayurveda Day  will be celebrated internationally in about 100 countries across the world. Celebration of ‘Ayurveda Day’ on the theme of ‘Ayurveda for One Health’ will be a global event and to make it successful, the Ministry of AYUSH will get the support of all the ministries of the country . The Ministry of AYUSH   today called a meeting of various ministries for the successful organization of ‘Ayurveda Day’ to be celebrated on the occasion of Dhanvantari Jayanti  on  11 November 2023 .

13 Defense Ministry signs contract with Mazagon Dock & Shipbuilders Limited, Mumbai for construction of first Indian Coast Guard training ship

The Defense Ministry  signed  an agreement with  Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), Mumbai   at a cost of  Rs 310 crore  under the Procurement (Indian-IDDM) category in   New Delhi  on October 17, 2023 for the construction of a training ship  for  the Indian Coast Guard (ICG).  Signed the contract for. It is the first dedicated training platform with integrated helicopter capabilities, which will provide basic maritime training to 70 Coast Guard and other international trainee officers to groom these budding sailors for the multi-dimensional maritime aspects of Coast Guard life.

14 Shri Dharmendra Pradhan launches web portal ‘Apna Chandrayaan’ with activity-based support material on Mission Chandrayaan-3

Union Minister of Education & Skill Development & Entrepreneurship  , Shri Dharmendra Pradhan  today launched   the web portal ‘ Apna Chandrayaan ‘ in  New Delhi which  provides activity-based support materials such as quizzes, puzzles etc. for school students on Mission Chandrayaan-3. It has been developed by NCERT under the aegis of Department of School Education and Literacy (DOSEL), Ministry of Education. He also released 10 special modules on Chandrayaan-3, which comprehensively talk about its various aspects – including scientific, technological and social aspects as well as the emotional journey and team spirit of the scientists involved in this mission. 15 MeitY Secretary inaugurates Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Lab at NIELIT Gorakhpur

Secretary , Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology  (MeitY),  Shri S.  Krishnan  (IAS)  inaugurated the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Lab  at  NIELIT, Gorakhpur  during  the 26th All India Directors’ Meeting  of  NIELIT  on  16 October 2023 . The state-of-the-art RPA laboratory has been constructed under the Future Skill Prime project funded by MeitY, which aims to skill the manpower in the emerging technology of RPA. This is the first laboratory of its kind in Uttar Pradesh under the Future Skill Prime project, which has been set up to bridge the gap between industry and education.

16 1023 Fast Track Special Courts (FTSC) to be set up to ensure the safety and security of women and girls

17 Asian Development Bank invests $181 million to improve peri-urban areas of Ahmedabad

18 RBI imposes fine of ₹1 crore on Union Bank

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI)  has imposed penalty on  public sector  Union Bank of IndiaRBL Bank  and  Bajaj Finance Ltd for non-compliance of directions. RBI has imposed a penalty of Rs 1 crore on Union Bank of India. RBI has imposed this penalty under the provisions of Section 47A (1) (c) read with Section 46 (4) (i) and 51(1) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.

19 Kerala inaugurates its first 3D-printed building

The state’s first 3D-printed building  was inaugurated  in   Thiruvananthapuram , Kerala  . The 380 sq ft building has been built on the Kerala State Manufacturing Center (KESNIC) campus in PTP Nagar. Which was inaugurated by Revenue Minister K Rajan. State Manufacturing Center (KESNIC) is located at PTP Nagar, Thiruvananthapuram. This building has been built in the premises of Kerala State Manufacturing Centre. This building has been named ‘Amaze-28’. The area of ​​this building is 380 square feet. The building has been constructed by Chennai-based startup Tvasta. 3D printing is called additive manufacturing. In this technique, layer-by-layer manufacturing is done using computer generated designs.

20 Jharkhand first state to take steps to ensure minimum wage for  workers

Online delivery boys including Swiggy-Zomato, Ola-Uber  working in various districts of  Jharkhand will  also soon   be brought under the ambit of minimum wage . The Labor Department of Jharkhand Government has started initiatives in this direction. Jharkhand  will be the first state in the country where preparations are being made to bring even the employees working on contract or commission under the ambit of minimum wages. Till now this system is not available in any state of the country.
