1.Rural Development ministry in UP organises open, under camera session for transfer of officers :-

In its unique endeavour to promote transparency in the working of government, rural development ministry in Uttar Pradesh organised an open and under camera session for transfer of its officers.Department has asked officers about their choice for posting online and an open session was held in Secretariat in state capital Lucknow in all officers in presence of media. The transfers were then done online.On the basis of the performance, letters were given to 21 village development officers. Rural development minister of state Dr Mahendra Singh told AIR that this step will improve transparency in the government.

2.Go Tribal campaign to be launched in New Delhi:-

The government will launch the Go Tribal Campaign in New Delhi to promote the use of tribal handicrafts and natural products.Tribal Affairs Ministry said TRIFED has organized this event to institutionalize collaborations and partnerships with different organizations to promote tribal products.The Ministry said, during the event, Tribes India and Amazon Global Marketing will launch TRIBES India products globally through Amazon platform.With this collaboration, tribal products will be available in the US and will help establish an export market with tribal products.The collection of Madua, Jowaer, Bazra, Red Rice, Honey, Lac products, Spices, Coffee, Tea and Handmade Soaps produced by Tribals in various parts of the country will also be showcased.

3.G-20 summit begins in Osaka:-

G20 Summit begins in Osaka, Japan. The theme of the summit is Human-centred future society.Several state heads including Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in the two-day summit.19 countries, the European Union and several special invitees are participating at the Osaka Summit which will see discussions on Global Economy- Trade & Investment, Innovation in Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence, Addressing Inequalities, Realizing an Inclusive & Sustainable World and Climate Change Energy and Environment in four different sessions.Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a trilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump and Japanese premier Shinzo Abe in Osaka ahead of the formal opening of the G-20 Summit.In a tweet, the Prime Minister informed that during the Japan-America-India trilateral meeting, Modi highlighted the importance India attaches to the grouping.Later, briefing media after the meet, Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale said ‘JAI’ (Japan, America and India) meeting was fruitful and the three leaders discussed issues related to Indo-Pacific region and trade.The Foreign secretary said, the Prime Minister’s meeting with the US President was productive. He said, issues related to Iran and trade & defence relations, were discussed. He said, Mr Trump expressed hope that oil prices will remain stable. Mr. Gokhale informed that the two leaders also discussed 5G technology.
Mr Modi, in his second trilateral summit today, will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin.The impetus for the current G20 summit was the global financial meltdown in 2008 when the leaders gathered to discuss how to prevent a similar crisis from happening again.
One of the most urgent tasks facing the G-20 members is to regain confidence in the multilateral trading system, given the fact that trade tensions have started to weigh heavily on the prospects of growth.
With nearly a year and half to go before the 2020 G-20 summit in Saudi Arabia, Osaka summit is expected to set the tone for next year’s discussions.

4.58 Railway stations of NE Frontier Railway provided with free Wi-Fi services:-

As many as 58 railway stations of North East Frontier Railway have been provided with free Wi-Fi services for the passenger.
Free Wi-Fi services to passengers are being provided under ‘RailWire’ brand- the retail Broadband initiative of RailTel. In the last month alone, the total user logins were 2.35 crore in1600 stations across India.Inspired by the vision of Digital India, Indian Railways and RailTel created a plan to transform stations into digital inclusion platform by providing fast free public Wi-Fi at stations.

5.PM Modi to meet with leaders of major partner:-

countries of G20Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with the leaders of other major partner countries and discuss important issues of bilateral and global importance.
The Prime Minister will meet Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, President of South Korea Moon Jae-In and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Prime Minister of Thailand General Prayut Chan o Cha, his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and President of Korea Mr Moon Jae-in.Mr Modi will also hold meetings with President of the World Bank Group David Malpass and Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres.

6.Indigenously developed nuclear-capable missile Prithvi-II test fired successfully:-India successfully test-fired indigenously developed nuclear-capable missile Prithvi-II as part of a user trial by the Army from a test range off the Odisha coast.The trial of the surface-to-surface missile, which has a strike range of 350 km, was carried out from a mobile launcher from Launch Complex-III of the Integrated Test Range, ITR at Chandipur.The missile is capable of carrying 500 to 1000 kg of warheads and is powered by liquid propulsion twin engines.Prithvi-II was also successfully test-fired on 21st February, last year from the ITR at Chandipur.

7.Three Astronauts Landed After Spending More Than Six Months Aboard The International Space Station (ISS):-

Oleg Kononenko with the Russian space agency Roscosmos, Anne McClain of NASA and Canadian Space Agency astronaut David Saint-Jacques landed aboard Russia’s Soyuz MS-11 spacecraft on June 24. The landed after spending more than six months aboard the International Space Station (ISS). Astronauts Anne McClain of the United States and David Saint-Jacques of Canada had completed their maiden flights. The expedition commander Oleg Kononenko of Russia has ended his fourth space mission. All three spent 204 days in space. Soyuz MS-11 was the 57th Russian Soyuz spacecraft to fly to the International Space Station. It traveled a total of 86.4 million miles (139 million kilometers) over the course of 3,264 orbits of Earth. The crew members participated in space walks, performed a lot of experiments and performed a good amount of repair work.

8.MALAYALAM FILM ‘VEYILMARANGAL’ WON AN AWARD AT SHANGHAI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL:-

At the 22nd Shanghai International Film Festival, Director Bijukumar Damodaran received the Outstanding Artistic Achievement Award for the film, Veyil Marangal (Trees under the Sun).This is for the first Indian film to win a major award at the festival. The film is one among the 3,964 entries submitted from 112 countries in the prestigious Golden Goblet Award competition. The jury chairperson at the Fest was the Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan.

9.US Supreme Court blocks census citizenship question for now:-

EPA The US Supreme Court has blocked the Trump administration from adding a question on citizenship to the 2020 census for the time being.Chief Justice John Roberts joined the court’s liberal justices, saying the administration did not provide adequate justification for the question.
However, the decision left open the possibility that the Trump administration could still seek to make new justifications.
Trump, who is in Japan for the G20 summit, said on Twitter that government lawyers would now try to have the 2020 census delayed.In a separate ruling, the top court’s conservative majority refused to rule against electoral redistricting practices, known as gerrymandering, that tend to favour the party in power.Held only once every 10 years, the census is instrumental in apportioning some 675 billion US dollars in federal funding to states and cities, and also determines the number of seats allocated to each state in the House of Representatives.The American Civil Liberties Union hailed the decision as a victory for immigrants and communities of color across America.

10.Virat Kohli becomes fastest batsman to score 20,000 runs:-

India captain Virat Kohli today became the fastest batsman to reach 20,000 international runs, eclipsing batting greats Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara. Kohli reached the milestone in only his 417th international innings. Prior to today’s match, Kohli was 37 runs short of the milestone and reached the feat with a single off in the 25th over of the India innings.
Kohli, thus, became the 12th batsman and third Indian after Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid to reach 20,000 international runs.
11.ICC World Cup: India crushes WI by 125 runs:-

In the ICC Cricket World Cup, India crushed West Indies by 125 runs at Manchester last night to inch one step closer to the semi-finals.Riding on skipper Virat Kohli’s 72 and MS Dhoni’s unbeaten 56, India posted 268 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs. KL Rahul also contributed 48 while Hardik Pandya scored 46.In reply, the West Indies were all out at 143  runs in 34.2 overs following impressive spell by Indian bowlers. Mohammed Shami has struck four wickets while Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal took two wickets each.
Kohli, who was adjudged man Of the match, also became the fastest batsman to reach 20 thousand international runs.India now got the second spot with 11 points from six matches while West Indies with 3 points from 7 matches are out of the semi-finals race.South Africa will play Sri Lanka at Chester-le-Street. The match is slated to begin at 3 p.m. Indian Time.

 12.India signs USD 400M loan agreement with World Bank to eliminate TB:-

India has signed a loan agreement worth 400 million dollar with the World Bank to help treat and eliminate Tuberculosis from the country.In India, around five lakh people died every year due to Tuberculosis.Finance Ministry said the World Bank supported program will cover nine States and it will support the government’s National Strategic Plan to end TB in India by 2025.The Program will provide financial incentives to private sector care providers for reporting cases of TB and ensuring that their patients complete the treatment regimen.The Ministry said it will also provide Direct Benefit Transfers to patients for acquiring the critical nutrition needed during treatment.The Program will also strengthen the detection, treatment and monitoring of Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis and will track progress in the detection of additional drug resistance.
