1.ISRO launches radar imaging satellite in May, launch of defense satellites in July-August:-

India is planning to send radar imaging satellite RISAT 2 BR1 to space in the space of May 2019 through its Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket. This information was given on Tuesday by sources.Officials of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said on condition of anonymity that RISAT 2 BR1 is likely to be released through PSLV rocket on May 22. The rocket carrying RISAT2BR1 has been named as PSLV-C46 according to ISRO’s numbering system and will be launched from the country’s first rocket port launch pad made in Sriharikota. After the launch of RISAT 2Br1, ISRO will send a cartography satellite Katotes-3. India will launch some more defense satellites in July or August with its new Rocket Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV).

2.Defense Ministry gets contract for anti-submarine final, navy gets strength:-

For the past few years, India has been engaged in strengthening its army on every front. After the Pulwama attack in the fellow country and February, India took several steps to further strengthen its three armies, Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense also intervened on the new Anti-Submariner contract for the Indian Navy. Explain that the Ministry has joined hands with Cochin Shipyard Limited for this. In this deal, 6,311 crore rupees were signed for 8 anti-submarine shello water crafts.

According to the information, the Navy needed anti-submarine shello watercraft for a long time, where the Ministry of Defense has now worked to strengthen the army. Let the Ministry of Defense open the contract with GRSE and the contract for 8 anti-submarines on Monday. This means that soon there will be 16 warships in the Indian Navy camp

Recently, the Indian Navy launched a guided missile destroyer vessel ‘Imphal’ in the Mazgaon Dock Shipbuilders. It was designed and manufactured in the country itself. This is the third vessel under ‘Project 15 Bravo’. Earlier in 2015, ‘Visakhapatnam’ and ‘Murmagova’ were launched in 2016. The three ships will be part of the navy from 2021.

According to the tradition of the navy, the head of naval chief Admiral Sunil Lamba and the head of the Naval Wives Welfare Association, prior to the launch, broke coconut on a portion of the vessel. On this occasion, Admiral Lamba said, “With the coordination of MDL, Indian Navy, DRDO, OFB, BEL and other public enterprises and private industry, the level of power has been maintained to achieve the strategic objectives of the country.”Admiral Lamba congratulated the entire team involved in the shipbuilding and said that by designing such a vessel, the Directorate General of Naval Design is contributing to the realization of the Navy’s dream of becoming a ‘buyer’ from ‘buyer’. He said, “The Indian Navy is fully committed and honored for the fact that all our warships and submarines are being made on the order today in the country.”

3.Defence Ministry-PSU to build 8 anti-submarine shallow watercrafts:-

Kolkata-based defence shipyard Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers signed an Rs. 6,311-crore contract with the Defence Ministry to build eight anti-submarine warfare shallow watercraft for the Indian Navy.The first vessel is to be delivered within 42 months from the contract, that is by October 2022.The ASWSWCs are equipped with sophisticated sonar, with an algorithm that differentiates the signals reflected off the enemy submarine from those bouncing off the sea bed.These vessels will also have the ability to sprint fast for short bursts.

 4.Wipro Consumer Care acquires Splash Corporation:-

Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting (WCCL) has acquired the Philippines-based personal care maker Splash Corporation.

WCCL is the consumer care business of software provider Wipro Ltd.Splash Corporation is among the top five local companies in the Philippines, where it gets 85% of its annual revenue of around $80 million.The transaction is expected to strengthen the consumer care portfolio in personal care apart from completing its South East Asian footprint.

5.Gujarat celebrates its foundation day:-

is the 60th Foundation Day of Gujarat. Every year, the day is celebrated in different districts by launching various welfare schemes. However, there is no official celebration this year due to the model code of conduct.  that the state of Gujarat came into existence on 1st May 1960 after bifurcation of erstwhile Mumbai state.

6.Benjamin Netanyahu sworn-in as Israel’s PM:-

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was among the 120 newly-elected members who were sworn-into country’s new Parliament on Tuesday, three weeks after his victory in national election. Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony in Jerusalem, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin delivered a message of national unity to the 120 members of Parliament. He called upon the new members to fight for their common home where secular, religious, ultra-Orthodox, Jews and Arabs can find themselves equal. Mr Netanyahu will seek to form a governing coalition in the days ahead. His Likud party won 35 seats in the election, the same as his main opponent from the centrist Blue and White alliance, led by former military chief Benny Gantz.Support from smaller right-wing parties allied to Likud led to a majority of 65 parliament members supporting Benjamin Netanyahu to continue on as Premier. But Mr Netanyahu also faces the prospect of becoming the first sitting Prime Minister to be indicted. The attorney general has announced he intends to indict him for bribery, fraud and breach of trust pending a hearing. He is not required to resign if indicted, only if convicted with all appeals exhausted

7.Indian para-athletes clinch medals at Asian Road para-cycling championships:-

Indian para-athletes came up with brilliant performance to secure a silver and two bronze medals at the Asian Road para-cycling championships at Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Divij Shah clinched silver while Asian Para Games bronze medallist Gurlal Singh and Hand cyclist Sudhakar Marathe claimed bronze.

 8.Claire Polosak to be the first female umpire in men’s ODI:-

Australia’s Claire Polosak made history by becoming the first female umpire to stand in a men’s one-day international.

She officiated in the final of the World Cricket League Division 2 between hosts Namibia and Oman.Polosak has already stood in 15 women’s ODIs, the first one in November 2016 between Australia and South Africa.She has also umpired the semi-final of the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2018 between England and India and four matches at the 2017 Women’s World Cup.
