1 BJP’s Bhajan Lal Sharma will be the new Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Diya Kumari and Premchand Bairwa were made Deputy Chief Ministers.

Bhajanlal Sharma   will be the new Chief Minister  of  Rajasthan . He was unanimously elected the leader of the BJP Legislative Party in the meeting held at Jaipur BJP Headquarters. Union Defense Minister  Rajnath Singh  and  Vinod Tawde  and  Saroj Pandey  were present in the meeting as observers. Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje  proposed Mr Sharma’s name, which was supported by everyone including senior MLAs Kirori Lal Meena, Madan Dilawar. Mr. Sharma is originally   from  Bharatpur and  has been elected MLA from Sanganer assembly constituency for the first time.  Shri Sharma was working as State General Secretary for a long time  . Before this he has worked on various posts in the party. Apart from Mr Sharma,  Diya Kumari  and  Prem Chand Bairwa  have   been selected as  Deputy Chief Ministers . Mrs. Diya Kumari is MLA from Vidyadhar Nagar of Jaipur  while  Mr. Bairwa  is  MLA from Dudu .  Elected MLA from  Ajmer NorthVasudev Devnani,  , will be the Assembly Speaker.

2 National Mission for Clean Ganga launches Global River Cities Alliance at UN Climate Change Conference in Dubai

The Global River Cities Alliance (GRCA  )   , led by  the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG)  under  the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India,   was launched at the COP-28 held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates  . In this  India, Egypt, the Netherlands, Denmark, Ghana, Australia, Bhutan, Cambodia, Japan and the riverside city of The Hague (Den Haag) from the Netherlands, Adelaide from Australia and Szolnok from Hungary and international financing agencies the World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and knowledge management institute like KPMG  had formed a partnership. Under this, in 2021, the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) along with NMCG formed the existing River Cities Alliance (RCA), whose reach is being expanded extensively.

In a recent survey conducted by  US-based consultancy firm ‘ Morning Consult ‘, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi  has   topped as the world’s most popular leader  with an  impressive approval rating of 76% . This remarkable achievement puts him more than 10 percentage points ahead of the next leader in the ranking. It is noteworthy that United States President Joe Biden is ranked seventh on the list with an approval rating of 40%, which is his highest approval rating since March. The data is based on a survey of 22 global leaders.

5 PM inaugurates Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) summit

Prime Minister  Shri Narendra Modi  inaugurated   the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit  at  Bharat Mandapam  in  New Delhi . GPAI   is a multi-stakeholder initiative with 29 member countries that aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice on AI by supporting cutting-edge research and practical activities on AI-related priorities. 6 Central Government approved financial assistance of Rs 338 crore to Gujarat and more than Rs 634 crore to Himachal Pradesh from National Disaster Relief Fund.

The Center   has approved financial assistance of more than Rs 338 crore  for  Gujarat . Recently   the state suffered huge losses due to Biparjoy cyclone . The Home Ministry has   also provided funds from the National Disaster Response Fund for  Himachal Pradesh  affected by  cloud burst, floods and landslides. also approved additional financial assistance of Rs 634 crore 

7 Indian Army contingent reached Hanoi for joint military exercise VINBAX-2023

VINBAX  is an annual training program   held alternately in  India and Vietnam . The exercise aims to foster cooperative partnership, promote inter-operability and share best practices between the two sides under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter on Peacekeeping Operations. Exercise VINBAX-2023 will be conducted as a command post exercise cum field training exercise, with a focus on the deployment and employment of an engineer company and a medical team.  A contingent of 45 personnel of the Indian Armed Forces has reached Hanoi (Vietnam) to participate in the fourth edition of the joint military exercise ‘VINBAX’ (VINBAX-2023). In Hanoi, Vietnam  till 21st December  began in 2018 and the first edition was held in Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh).

9 Indian Army organizes ‘Honor Run – Indian Army Veterans Half Marathon’

Indian Army  organized  Honor Run – Indian Army Veterans Half Marathon ‘ race  in Delhi on 10 December 2023  to commemorate the historic military victory in  the Kargil War . This program ‘ Honor Run’ was organized under the themeOn this occasion, people coming from diverse population of the country and participating in the ‘Honor Run’ paid tribute to the brave soldiers of India and highlighted the capability, strength and energy of our nation. The event was flagged off by Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pandey at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi in the presence of several military officers, ex-servicemen and civilian dignitaries. The ‘Honor Run’ race was organized under four categories. The 21.1 kilometer race in the first category was aptly named Kargil Run. The other three categories included the first 10 kilometer race, named the Tiger Hill Run; The second was a 05 kilometer race, named Tololing Run; And this was followed by the last 3 kilometer race, which was named Batalik Run.

Data released from the National Statistics Office has shown a growth of 10.4 percent in manufacturing sector and 13.1 percent growth in mining production in October this year.

Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board  issues  notice to Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited over Ennore Creek oil spill  incident.   issued instructions toWater in Ennore Creek and surrounding areas became polluted due to oil spillage. Here the leaked oil mixed with flood water and accumulated in the nearby houses. Subsequently a team of Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board officials visited these areas and identified the causes of the oil spill. The Pollution Control Board reported that the oil spill occurred from CPCL premises and reached Ennore Creek via the Buckingham Canal. It has also been said in this report that CPCL has inadequate arrangements for drainage of flood water. The Board has asked CPCL to identify key locations in Buckingham Canal, Ennore Creek and adjacent areas where the spilled oil has accumulated with water. The Board has asked CPCL to take necessary preventive measures on war footing to deal with this problem. The Board has asked CPCL to ensure that there is no leakage of any kind in all the pipelines carrying raw materials and products and oil storage tanks.

13 Home Minister Amit Shah introduced three new bills in the Lok Sabha to replace British-era criminal bills.

The government has withdrawn three bills that  replaced   the British-era criminal bill  and introduced three new bills in the Lok Sabha incorporating changes suggested by the Parliamentary Standing Committee. These new bills are –  Indian Justice (Second) Code 2023, Indian Civil Defense (Second) Code 2023 and Indian Evidence (Second) Bill 2023. These will replace the Indian Penal Code 1860, the Criminal Procedure Act 1898 and the Indian Evidence Act 1872. Presenting these bills in the Lok Sabha, Home Minister Amit Shah said that the parliamentary panel had suggested several changes in the already introduced Indian Judicial Code 2023, Indian Civil Defense Code 2023 and Indian Evidence Bill 2023. The government has brought new bills including these.

16 NHAI signs agreement to develop multi modal logistics park in Nagpur at a cost of Rs 673 crore

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)  has approved  M/s Deltabulk Shipping India Pvt. Ltd.  to develop  Multi Modal Logistics Park (MMLP)  in  Nagpur . Ltd.  an SPV of M  /s DC Multi Model Park (Nagpur) Ltd.  has signed an agreement withThe MMLP will be developed over an area of ​​150 acres under the Public Private Partnership model at an estimated cost of Rs 673 crore. The project is poised to become the first MMLP in Maharashtra under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan. This MMLP will prove to be an important achievement in the development of the country. MMLP will be developed at Sindi (near railway station) in Wadha district of Maharashtra.

17 Rajya Sabha passes bill related to appointment and tenure of Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners

Rajya  Sabha has   passed the Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners (Conditions of Service and Tenure) Bill 2023. Union Law Minister  Arjun Ram Meghwal  presented it. This Bill   will replace the Election Commission (Conditions of Service and Functions of Election Commissioners) Act, 1991 . It deals with the appointment, salary and removal of the Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners. According to the provisions of the Bill, the Chief Election Commissioner and other Commissioners will   be appointed on the recommendation of the Select Committee . This committee   will include the Prime Minister, a Union Minister, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha or the leader of the largest opposition party in the Lok Sabha.
