A Nepalese Sherpa climber Kami Rita has scaled Mount Everest for a 23rd time, breaking his own record for the most successful ascents of the world’s highest peak.

2.Captain Aarohi Pandit From Mumbai Became 1st Woman In The World To Cross The Atlantic Ocean Solo In An LSA:-

Captain Aarohi Pandit, a 23-year-old pilot from Mumbai created history by becoming the first woman in the world to cross the Atlantic Ocean solo in a Light Sports Aircraft (LSA). She achieved the record by landing her aircraft at Iqaluit Airport in Canada

3.Indian Navy’s tremendous fate, now the enemy’s plane will pile in the air:-

Indian Naval Ships have been practicing firing on Western Seaboard by Kochi and Chennai. In this, tests were carried out to kill missiles of both ships in long range. These were also controlled by a separate ship to see how long these two ships could kill. These were trials from Indian Navy, DRDO and Israeli Aerospace Industries.The Indian Navy achieved a significant milestone in enhancing its anti-air warfare capability with the first co-operative engagement firing of the Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MRSAM). Now the navy has got the ability to destroy the enemy aircraft flying directly from the surface in the air.

4.Praveen Pardeshi Is BMC Chief As Mehta Named Chief Secy:-

Praveen Pardeshi took charge as the Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).Pardeshi replaced Ajoy Mehta, a 1984-batch IAS officer, who was recently appointed as Maharastra’s new chief secretary.

5.6th Session Of Global Platform For DDR Started In Geneva, Switzerland:-

The 6th Session of the biennial Global Platform for (DDR) Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2019) has started in Geneva, Switzerland from 13th May to 17 May 2019 and is co-chaired by Switzerland and UNISDR.The session is summoned under the theme, ‘Resilience Dividend: Towards Sustainable and Inclusive Societies’.

6.In A First, India To Host Part Of International Army Games:-

India for the first time will host and participate in a major army competition involving eight countries, including China and Russia, in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.The event called the ‘Army International Scout Masters Competition 2019’ will be held in August this year.

7.Israel Proposes India To Be The Focus Country In Jerusalem Film Festival, 2020:-

The Indian Delegation led by I&B Secretary Shri Amit Khare met Film Commissioners of participating countries at Cannes Film Festival.During the meeting, Israel proposed India to be the focus country in Jerusalem Film Festival, 2020. The buzz created by the Hindi movie Newton in Israel was also highlighted by the Israeli Delegation.In order to further enhance the appeal of India as the go-to destination for filming, India has been positioned prominently on the Pocket Guide of Marche Du Film, Cannes Film Market, which celebrates Indian cinema as the world’s largest film industry.

8.USD 10 million on offer in ICC World Cup, winner to earn 4 million:-

Ten million US Dollars or a little more than 70 crore rupees are on offer in the upcoming ICC men’s cricket World Cup. The 46-day tournament will be played across 11 venues in the United Kingdom from 30th of this month.Besides a trophy, the World Cup winner will earn a cash award of 4 million US dollars or about 28 crore rupees which is the highest prize money on offer in the history of the tournament. The runners-up take home 2 million US Dollars or about 14 crore rupees. The losing semifinalists will get around 5 crore 60 lakh rupees. There are six prizes of about 70 lakh rupees each for teams that pass the league stage. Winners of each league match will get around 28 lakh rupees in what promises to be a competitive tournament with the world’s best teams playing each other in a round-robin format.
