1.Modi primes MPs for bigger battles :-

4.TDSAT refuses to stay Reliance Jio’s free offer :-

The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) was asked the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to re-examine the approval for Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd’s free offers Welcome Offer and Happy New Year Offer which will continue till the end of March 2018.

5.Health  pending to be 2.5% of GDP :-

The Centre cleared the long-awaited National Health Policy 2017, which promises to increase public health spending to 2.5% of GDP in a time-bound manner and guarantees health care services to all Indian citizens, particularly the underprivileged, on Wednesday.

6.Agarwal eyes £2 bln stake in miner Anglo :-

Indian billionaire Anil Agarwal said he was buying a £2 billion ($2.45 billion) stake in Anglo American, sending the global miner’s shares sharply higher and signalling a possible return to large-scale dealmaking in the sector.

7.India raises concerns with Pakistan over two missing Sufi clerics :-

The government on Thursday raised concerns over the unexplained disappearance of two Sufi clerics from Delhi’s Nizamuddin Dargah, with the Indian High Commission in Islamabad urging the Pakistan government to investigate the matter, while sources said the matter was taken up with the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi as well.

Pakistan Navy has successfully test-fired ground-to-sea missile from the coastal region on March 16, 2017.

9.U.K. grants doctors first licence to create 3-parent babies :-

Britain’s fertility regulator on Thursday granted doctors the first U.K. licence to create babies using a three-parent IVF technique designed to prevent inherited genetic diseases.

10.Indian-American teen wins top science award worth USD 250,000 :-

An Indian-American teen Indrani Das(17) won the US’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition Regeneron Science Talent Search Awards Gala on March 16, 2017.

11.Amarinder Singh Takes Oath as Chief Minister of Punjab :-

Captain Amarinder Singh took oath as the 26th chief minister of Punjab on March 16, 2017 at the Raj Bhawan in Chandigarh thus paving way for the return of the Congress to power in the state after a gap of ten years.

12.Teen scientist wins $2,50,000 :-

Indian-American teenager Indrani Das won the top prize of $2,50,000 (Rs. 1.63 crore) in the Regeneron Science Talent Search competition in the U.S. for her research on treating brain injury and disease.

13.Cabinet approves revised MoU with Bangladesh to set up Border Haats :-

The Union Cabinet has approved Revised Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Mode of Operation (MoO) between India and Bangladesh for establishing Border Haats on India-Bangladesh Border.

14.Trump eyes appeal after travel ban again blocked :-

President Donald Trump braced on Thursday for a long legal battle over his ban on travel from six mainly-Muslim countries after two federal judges ruled against the measure, saying the Republican’s own comments suggested religious bias.

15.Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru Placed Among Top 50 in THE’s Asia Universities Ranking :-

The Times Higher Education (THE) released its Asia University Rankings 2017 on March 16, 2017.

According to the 2017 ranking, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru has been ranked best Indian University and has been placed at 27th position among the universities in Asia.

Besides, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay was another Indian university among top 50 placed at 42 position followed by Chennai-based private institute Veltech University at 43.

16.Central Bank won Official language policy award :-

Mumbai based Central Bank of India won the first prize in the implementation of Official Language Policy in the western region for the year 2015-2016  at the Official Language Conference of Central and Western Regions in Udaipur
