  • Defense Minister Rajnath Singh launched Artificial Intelligence based complaint management application in New Delhi . It has been developed by the Ministry of Defense in collaboration with IIT Kanpur . It is the first of its kind based on Artificial Intelligence to improve the grievance redressal system of the Government. Through this, repeated complaints or spam messages of the same type can be easily identified.

  • National Thermal Power Corporation – NTPC Group of Companies under Ministry of Power has achieved the target of generating more than one hundred billion units of electricity . The Ministry of Power has said that NTPC had achieved this target by 7th August last year which is an indicator of improvement in its performance. NTPC’s Korba plant in Chhattisgarh is the largest thermal power generating plant in the country. The Ministry has informed that there are 71 power stations of NTPC Group with installed capacity of more than 66,000 MW. Of these, there are 29 renewable energy projects. NTPC has set a target of 60 GW of renewable energy installed capacity by 2032.

  • The Central Government has limited the trading profit on five medical devices to 70 percent of the price at the distributor level . These devices are pulse oximeter , blood pressure testing machine , nebulizer , digital thermometer and glucometer . In view of the increasing demand for these medical devices during the COVID pandemic, the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has decided to control their prices. The revised prices will be applicable from July 20 this year. The Ministry said that every retailer, dealer, hospital and institution will have to display the price fixed by the manufacturer for these equipments in the business premises at a place which is easily visible to all.

  • The Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Shri Arjun Munda calls on ‘ Covid Vaccine with Safe Forest, Money and Enterprises ‘ to accelerate the pace of COVID vaccination among the tribal community in India’ campaign launched. The campaign will leverage the facilities of 45,000 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) of the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED), a national level co-operative under the administrative control of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. This campaign is being launched in partnership with UNICEF and the World Health Organization. Its objective is to connect more than 50 lakh tribal people with the Kovid vaccination campaign. The COVID vaccine is free of cost, available in nearby centers and not only saves people from hospitalization and death, but also helps them to continue with their livelihood activities. Mainly three points will be focused under this campaign –
  1. Life – Every single life and sustenance is precious, so vaccination is the key to life and it is free.
  2. Jeevika – If you have been vaccinated then you can continue with your Van Dhan Vikas Kendra and livelihood activities without the fear of getting infected. It also saves you from hospitalization and other contingencies.
  3. Awareness – simplification of the process of registration, location, access to people of different groups and ages, especially women and elderly population for vaccination. Van Dhan Vikas Kendras work with dedication and commitment with the principle of ‘Service is duty’ and they play a vital role in making Corona free Panchayats and Villages in collaboration with other stakeholders.

 

8. The Union Cabinet approved the Memorandum of Understanding between India and the Kingdom of Denmark on Cooperation in the field of Health and Medicine

  • Prime Minister in the Presidency Cabinet of Health and Medicine on cooperation in the Republic of India , Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Danish kingdom of the Ministry of Health has approved the agreement between the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This bilateral MoU will encourage cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Republic of India and the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Denmark through joint initiatives and technology development. This MoU will strengthen the bilateral relations between India and Denmark.
