1.Dinkar Gupta appointed as new Director General of National Investigation Agency

Former Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta has been arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).The new Director General of the Kuldeep Singh, Director General of CRPF, Y.C. The additional charge of NIA was given in May 2021 after Modi’s retirement. Dinkar Gupta will hold this post till March 31, 2024 or further orders. Dinkar Gupta has a master’s degree in Police Administration. He took over the post of Director General of Punjab Police in 2019. He served in this post for 2 years 7 months. He was later transferred as the chairman of the Punjab Police Housing Board, as he sought permission for central deputation. He also served as Director General of Police, Intelligence, Punjab. This included the Intelligence Wing of Punjab, the Organized Crime Control Unit (OCCU) and the State Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS). He had a tenure of eight years on central deputation from June 2004 to July 2012. He held sensitive assignments during this period, In which the head of the Intelligence Bureau unit, which looks after VVIP security, was also involved. Dinkar Gupta has been decorated with two Police Gallantry Medals in 1992 and 1994. He was awarded the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Services as well as the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2010 by the President. He was awarded the British Chevening Gurukul Scholarship in 1999.

2.India NCAP for the safety of passengers Draft GSR notification approved for implementation

Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has approved the draft General Safety Regulations Notification to implement the new Vehicle Assessment Program- Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP) . Under this program, vehicles in India are given star rating on the basis of their performance in crash tests .will be given. Shri Gadkari said in a tweet that India is the NCAP. There will be a consumer centric platform which will help the customers to opt for a safer car based on the star rating. This will lead to healthy competition in manufacturing of safe vehicles in India. The Minister of Road Transport and Highways said that star rating of Indian cars on the basis of crash tests is of utmost importance, this will not only ensure the safety of the occupants of the cars but will also increase the exportability of Indian vehicles. New Car Safety Assessment Program India NCAP, to be launched from 1st April 2023.

3.Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh leaves for Portugal to participate in “United Nations Ocean Conference-2022 for 2022”

10.Indian Air Force to participate in Strategic Leadership Program with Egyptian Air Force

13.Tamil Nadu sends second relief consignment to Sri Lanka

14.Entry of medium and heavy vehicles banned in Delhi
