1.KVIC Set To Open First Silk Training Cum Production Center In Arunachal Pradesh:

Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) is set to open the first-of-its-kind training-cum-production centre of silk in a far-flung tribal village of Chullyu in Arunachal Pradesh in the first week of September. It is a first of its kind in the state.

2.Railway Museum Inaugurated In Hubballi, Karnataka:

Railways Minister Piyush Goyal & Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi dedicated Railway Museum at Hubballi in North Karnataka. This Rail Museum is first of its kind in North Karnataka and second in South Western Railway after historic Mysuru Rail Museum at Mysuru.

3.Pune’s Defence Institute Of Advanced Technology Wins First Prize; Smart India Hackathon 2020:

Pune-based Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) has won the first prize in the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2020, a national-level digital product building competition.The Defence Ministry said DIAT’s team of six members provided a solution titled “DRISHTI” to recognise face, expression and gesture using artificial intelligence (AI).

4.Mukesh Ambani Now 4th Richest Man In World; Bloomberg Index:

Mukesh Ambani with a personal wealth of $80.6 billion in 2020 has surpassed Bernard Arnault, chairman and CEO, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton. Jeff Bezos, Bil Gates and Mark Zuckerberg rounded out the top three spots.

5.GoI launched National Portal “SURAKHSYA” on Human Elephant conflict

The Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar launched National Portal on Human Elephant conflict called “SURAKHSYA”.The portal aims to collect real time information and will also manage conflicts on real time basis.The portal will help to set data collection protocols, data visualization tools and data transmission pipelines.The National Portal was launched during the celebration of international annual event World Elephant Day.The World Elephant Day is celebrated every year on August 12 to create elephant conservation and share knowledge for better protection of wild captive elephants.

6.Chhattisgarh CM Launches Indira Van Mitan Yojana

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced the launch of Indira Van Mitan Yojana on the occasion of World Tribal Day.Under this scheme, groups of youth will be formed in 10,000 villages of tribal areas of the state and all forest-based economic activities will be conducted through these groups.New doors will open for self-employment and prosperity of the forest dwellers through these groups.Under this scheme, arrangements for procurement, processing and marketing of forest produce will be ensured through groups.Groups will be formed under this scheme in 10,000 villages of scheduled areas, in which youth will be given priority.The Indira Van Mitan scheme aims to add 19 lakh families from scheduled areas. Through this scheme, groups will be empowered to manage trees, so that they can collect the forest produce from the trees of the forest areas and get economic benefits.
