1.Himachal Pradesh government launched ‘Nari Ko Naman’ scheme

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur launched “ Nari Ko Naman ” scheme for the women of the state . This scheme has been started in line with the announcement made before the state assembly elections. Himachal Pradesh government gives 50% discount in ticket prices to women in state government busesannounced to give In this way, now bus tickets for women will be available at half the cost. Under this scheme, the Himachal Pradesh government will spend Rs 60 crore annually to provide 50% discount on ticket prices to women in the state. According to an estimate, 1.25 lakh women travel in HRTC buses daily. Apart from giving concession to women in tickets to women, the government also announced reduction of minimum fare in HRTC buses from Rs 7 to Rs 5. In addition, 25 posts of women drivers will be filled in HRTC’s ‘Ride with Pride’ taxis. In HRTC, 265 posts of Motor Mechanic, Electrician etc. will also be recruited.

2.Amendment in Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, Indians will now be able to get up to ten lakh rupees without informing the authorities

The Ministry of Home Affairs has amended the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act . Under the amended Act, relatives living abroad are allowed to send more amount to India and some other concessions have been given. Now an amount up to ten lakh rupees can be sent by relatives without informing the government . If more than this amount is to be sent, then the government will have to inform about it three months in advance . Earlier this period was thirty days. Organizations have also been given more time to inform the government about opening of bank accounts for utilization of funds received under the ‘ registration ‘ or ‘ pre-permission ‘ category, as per the amended rule . The provision of reporting on the official website every quarter to organizations or individuals receiving foreign funds has also been removed.

3.NATO Madrid Summit 2022 concludes

The 2022 NATO Madrid Summit was held in Madrid, Spain from June 28 to 30, 2022 . This was the 32nd edition of the summit since the first summit held in Paris in 1957 . The summit was chaired by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg . Heads of State and Government from NATO member and partner countries participated in the three-day summit. The NATO summit is a forum for member states to evaluate alliance activities and provide strategic direction.

4.NMCG organized ‘Plantation at Yamuna Ghat’ program under Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi

Namami Gange Amrit Vatika was built by the National Mission for Clean Ganga on July 2 at the Kalindi Kunj Ghat of Yamuna River in Delhi as part of the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi. During this , 75 saplings were planted by the National Mission for Clean Ganga in collaboration with Delhi Jal Board, various NGOs and other affiliated organizations under the ‘ Plantation on Yamuna Ghat ‘ initiative.Along with planting, activities related to tree plantation were organized. The Tree Plantation Project at Yamuna Ghat acted as an umbrella organization for tree plantation works. The central government authorized the Namami Gange programme, an integrated conservation mission, as a “flagship programme” in June 2014 with a financial commitment of Rs 20,000 crore.

5.Rahul Narvekar of the BJP was elected Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly

Rahul Narvekar of Bharatiya Janata Party was elected the Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly . Narvekar got 164 votes and Maha Vikas Aghadi ‘s candidate Rajan Salvi got 107 votes. Narvekar, who started his political career as a councillor, was awarded the Commonwealth Parliamentary Board’s Best Speaker Award for 2015-16 .

6.Uddhav Thackeray said that the Election Commission should implement the ‘right to recall’ system

Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray has said that the time has come for the Election Commission to give ‘ Right to Recall ‘‘ Implement the rule. In a statement, Mr. Thackeray said if voters are not happy with their elected representatives, they should have a chance to call them back. The statement came at a time when Mr Thackeray was forced to step down as Maharashtra chief minister after more than two-thirds of his party’s legislators formed a separate faction led by party leader Eknath Shinde. On Mr. Shinde taking oath as the Chief Minister, Mr. Thackeray said that he did not understand what the Bharatiya Janata Party had achieved in this whole matter. Mr. Thackeray said that the people of the state are unhappy that the son of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray was forced to step down from the post of Chief Minister.

8.RBI releases Financial Stability Report for June 2022

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) recently released its Financial Stability Report for June 2022 .Published. This edition of the RBI report includes a survey of international regulatory and supervisory practices applicable to Big Tech entities. RBI has included Google, Facebook, Apple, Amazon and Alibaba among service providers in its survey. According to RBI, regulators across the world are trying to strike a balance between risks and benefits from the entry of Big Tech in the financial sector. In this report, RBI said that, large technology companies (‘Bigtech’) are growing and turning into “too-critical to fail” institutions. Thus, its regulators need to be aware of its interlinking with the financial system. According to this report, BigTech could grow rapidly and become a risk factor for financial stability. The Capital to Risk Weighted Assets Ratio (CRAR) of Scheduled Commercial Banks reaches a new high of 16.7 per cent,

9.NITI Aayog released ‘Harnessing Green Hydrogen’ report

Government think tank NITI Aayog published its report titled “ Harnessing Green Hydrogen- Opportunities for Deep Decarbonisation in India ”. This report has been prepared in collaboration with Delhi-based think tank RMI India . In its report, NITI Aayog recommended reduction or exemption of GST and customs duty on production of green hydrogen to boost production in India.is of. It also proposes to set up green hydrogen corridors as well as grant grants to start-ups that are working on green hydrogen solutions domestically. Accordingly, the government should focus on reducing the cost for green hydrogen production in the country. According to this report, the current Green Hydrogen Policy provides for substantial measures, which focus on open access for Green Ammonia and Green Hydrogen production along with Inter-State Transmission (ISTS) duty exemptions. Its production can be further improved by reducing or exempting taxes and duties. Green hydrogen is hydrogen gas, which is produced through the electrolysis of water. Electrolysis is an energy intensive process to split water into hydrogen and oxygen.

10.Asia Pacific Stability Index 2021 released

The Asia Pacific Sustainability Index 2021 was recently launched by Knight Frank , a global property advisor. In this index, four Indian cities, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi and Mumbai have been ranked among the top 20 sustainable cities . In this, 36 cities are ranked on the basis of urbanization pressure, carbon emissions, climate risk and government initiatives. Singapore tops this index . It is followed by Sydney, Wellington, Perth and Melbourne. Bangalore in Indian citiesis in the first place. Whereas it is ranked 14th in the Asia-Pacific region. Bengaluru is the only Indian city to have achieved the ‘Gold’ standard category. Bengaluru is followed by Delhi, which is ranked 17th in the Asia Pacific region. Hyderabad is ranked 3rd in India and 18th in the Asia-Pacific region. Mumbai ranks 4th among Indian cities and 20th in the Asia-Pacific region.

11.CCI approves proposed equity acquisition of Bharti Airtel and Google

12.Crisil lowers GDP growth forecast for 2022-23 to 7.3 percent

Domestic rating agency CRISIL has reduced the real GDP growth forecast for India to 7.3 per cent in FY23 (FY 2022-2023) . Earlier it was estimated to be 7.8 per cent. This has been attributed to the downward revision due to high oil prices, sluggish export demand and high inflation. Crisil said higher commodity prices, higher freight prices, lower global growth projections weighed on exports and the biggest demand side of private consumption remained weak. The agency said inflation, which has been pegged at an average of 6.8 per cent in FY12 as against 5.5 per cent in FY12, weighs down purchasing power and impacts the revival of consumption, the largest component of GDP.

13.Parul Chaudhary broke the national record of 3000 meters

Indian women’s track athlete Parul Chowdhury set a new national record in the UA Sunset Tour 3000m event . Choudhary broke Suriya Loganathan ‘s six-year-old record of 9:04.5 in the women’s 3000m event with a time of 8:57.19 . She was fifth in the early part of the race but in the last two laps she picked up the pace to finish third on the podium. Choudhary will then be seen competing in the 3000m steeplechase at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Oregon, USA, starting July 15.
