2.Weavers Service and Design Resource Center to be set up in Kullu

Commerce, Industry and Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal said HP ‘s Kullu district in the ” weavers service and design resource center ” ( Weaver Services And Design Resource Center) declared to be installed. This center will help in promoting lucrative handicraft products of the state and will provide a better platform to export these products to the international market. Shri Piyush Goyal made this announcement while addressing an interaction program with handicraft and handloom artisans. The event was organized under the ‘Seva and Samarpan Abhiyan’ to commemorate the Golden Jubilee Year of Himachal Pradesh on September 27, 2021. Himachal Pradesh has tremendous talent and potential in weaving. Thus, there is a need to actively work by the state and central ministries to bring these products to the international market to get more profit. More attention should be paid to modernization of design, packaging, quality and marketing to provide better price to weavers for their products in the international market.

India has emerged as the second largest trading partner of Dubai after China . According to a statement from the Dubai government, Dubai had a trade of 86.7 billion dirhams with China in the first half of 2021. It is followed by India and the US at second and third place respectively. Trade with India grew 74.5% year-on-year to 67.1 billion dirhams in 2021 from 38.5 billion dirhams in the first half of 2020. China posted 30.7% year-on-year growth. It had a total trade of 66.3 billion dirhams with Dubai in H1 2021. In H1 2021, the US traded 32 billion dirhams with Dubai. This amount grew 1% year-on-year from 31.7 billion dirhams in 2020. Saudi Arabia was ranked fourth with a trade value of 30.5 billion dirhams. It has increased by 26% as compared to the first quarter of 2020.

9.DRDO tests new version of Akash Prime missile

Defense Research and Development Organization ( DRDO ) has test – fired a new variant of Akash missile ‘ Aakash Prime ‘ on September 27, 2021 . It is known as Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur , Odisha .Launched from The missile intercepted and destroyed an unmanned aerial target during the test. The Akash Prime missile has been equipped with an indigenous Active RF (Radio Frequency) seeker to improve its accuracy. Other improvements have also been made to bring more reliable performance in low temperature environments at high altitudes. ITR’s range stations include radar, ETOS (Electro Optical Tracking System) and telemetry stations. It helped in monitoring the missile trajectory and flight parameters. Akash missile is a medium-range mobile surface-to-air missile system. It was developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) has produced these missiles. Surveillance and fire control radars by Larsen & Toubro, along with Bharat Electronics (BEL), Tata Power Strategic Engineering Division, Missile launchers and tactical control and command centers were developed. The Akash missile has a range of 50-80 km and an altitude of up to 18,000 metres. These missiles can neutralize air targets like fighter jets, cruise missiles, air-to-surface missiles as well as ballistic missiles.

10.ICRA revises GDP growth forecast for FY22 to 9%

Rating agency ICRA has revised its real GDP growth forecast for India for the financial year 2022 . Its GDP estimate changed from 8.5% to 9%Has been done. ICRA attributes the growth in GDP to bright prospects for Q2 FY22 as a result of faster COVID-19 vaccination, healthy advance estimates of Kharif production as well as easing of related cash management measures . The forecast for GVA growth in agriculture, forestry and fishing has been revised to 3% (from 2%) in the second and third quarters of FY 2022. According to ICRA, wider coverage of COVID-19 vaccines will boost confidence, which, in turn, will re-energize the demand for contact-intensive services. This will help revive the part of the economy most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to ICRA estimates, nearly three-quarters of Indian adults will receive their second COVID-19 vaccine by the end of 2021.

12.Group of Ministers to rationalize GST rates

The government of Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj S. Bommai headed by a Group of Ministers (GoM) on the rates of rationalization is assigned to propose and to consider merging the various tax slabs within two months. With this move, the government will increase the Goods and Services TaxWants to set the stage for changes in several tax rates under the system. Currently, there are five broad tax slabs in the GST regime, nil, 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%. In addition, a cess over the rate of 28% is levied on certain goods and special rates are fixed for items such as precious stones and diamonds. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced setting up of two GoMs to increase revenue after the GST Council meeting on September 17. One of these panels will work on issues of tax rate rationalization to correct discrepancies. During this meeting, the Finance Minister had indicated that the effective tax rate under GST has come down from the original revenue neutral rate of 15.5% to 11.6%. The seven-member group was constituted by the Finance Ministry on 24 September. The group is headed by Basavaraj Bommai and includes West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra of West Bengal and Kerala Finance Minister KN. Besides Balagopal, there are members of the GST Council from Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan. The group has been asked to recommend immediate changes and a roadmap for short-term and medium-term changes in the GST rate structure.

14.$2.5 billion contract signed for 56 Airbus C-295 military aircraft

The Defense Ministry has signed a $2.5 billion contract to acquire 56 Airbus C-295 aircraft . The 56 Airbus C-295 aircraft will replace the old fleet of Avro HS-748 aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) . As per this contract, Airbus will deliver the first 16 aircraft in ‘ fly-away ‘ condition . It will be delivered from the final assembly line in Seville, Spain . Other 40 aircraft Tata Advanced Systems (TASL) in IndiaManufactured and assembled by These aircraft will be manufactured in India under an industrial partnership between Airbus and TASL. The Indian Air Force will become the 35th operator of the C-295 aircraft worldwide. Under the “Avro Replacement Programme”, a private sector firm will manufacture an entire aircraft in India for the first time. It will develop a complete industrial ecosystem from manufacturing, assembly, testing and qualification, delivery to maintenance of the aircraft’s lifecycle.

19.National Disaster Management Authority Foundation Day
