Joe Biden defeats Trump to become 46th President of the USA

Joe Biden has defeated President Donald Trump to become the 46th president of the United States.
He is from the Democratic Party one of the two major contemporary political parties in the United States. Other being the Republican Party.
His full name is Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. and has served as Vice President of the United States under Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017.
Joe got 284 electoral college votes while Trump got 214 votes. Biden, 77, will also be the oldest president-elect in U.S. history.
Kamala Harris,56, will be the vice president and will be the first Indian-American woman to serve as Vice Present of the USA.

ISRO Launches Earth Observation Satellite (EOS-01) and 9 Foreign Satellites from Sriharikota:-

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched its latest earth observation satellite (EOS-01), along with nine other satellites from customer nations on 07 November 2020.
The satellites were launched on board the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV)-C49 launch vehicle from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota Andhra Pradesh.
EOS-01 is a highly advanced earth observation satellite intended for use in supporting agriculture, forestry and disaster management planning.
This launch was the 51st launch of PSLV, while it was the 77th launch mission from the Sriharikota spaceport.
With this launch, ISRO has altogether sent 328 foreign satellites (from 33 nations) into space.
The customer satellites launched included four from the United States that are meant for “multi-mission remote sensing”. Four of the remaining five are from Luxembourg (for maritime applications) and the other is from Lithuania (for technology demonstration).

India’s first solar-based Integrated Multi-Village Water Supply Project launched in Arunachal Pradesh:-

The Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat launched India’s first solar-based Integrated Multi-Village Water Supply Project (IMVWSP) in Arunachal Pradesh on 06 November 2020.
The solar-based lift water supply project is ‘first of its kind’ in the country, and has been commissioned at a cost of Rs 28.50 crore. However, such projects will be carried out in other parts of the country too.
The project would provide drinking water to 17,480 people in 39 villages of Lower Dibang Valley district in Arunachal Pradesh.
The solar-based Integrated Multi-Village Water Supply Project has been designed as an integrated project with three components, which are drinking water, green energy and tourism.

Atal Innovation Mission collaborates with Sirius (Russia) to launch ‘AIM–Sirius Innovation Programme 3.0:-

The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), a flagship initiative by the NITI Aayog, and Russia’s Sirius (Scientific International Research in Unique Terrestrial Station) has jointly launched ‘AIM–Sirius Innovation Programme 3.0’, a 14-day virtual programme for Indian and Russian schoolchildren.
It is the first Indo-Russian bilateral youth innovation initiative, which seeks to develop technological solutions, both web-based and mobile-based, for the two countries.
The two-week programme will be held from 7–21 November 2020.
During the vent, around 48 students and 16 educators and mentors will create 8 virtual products and mobile applications to address global challenges across wide range of areas , in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic.
These areas include culture, distance education, applied cognitive science, health and well-being, sports, fitness, and games training, chemistry, artificial intelligence, and digital financial assets.

Kerala launches ‘Parivarthanam’ scheme for better livelihood of Fishing Community:-

The government of Kerala has launched a pioneering eco-sustainable programme called ‘Parivarthanam’, to improve the livelihood of the fishing community.
Parivarthanam, which means change, will be headed by Kerala State Coastal Area Development Corporation (KSCADC).
Apart from this, the Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT) of Union governments will monitor procurement and processing of fish besides ensuring its quality.
The scheme aims at improving the livelihood skills of youngsters along the coastline and also enable socio-economic uplift of the fishermen community.
The scheme will promote processing and marketing of clean fish and its fresh products.
Parivarthanam will also guarantee a fixed price to fish-catchers as a fair compensation.
It would also provide jobs to college dropouts and migrant workforce returning home due to Covid-19.

Manipur’s Gyanendro Ningombam appointed as the Hockey India President:-

The Hockey India Executive Board has appointed Manipur’s Gyanendro Ningombam, as the President of Hockey India, on 06 November 2020, during the 10th Hockey India Congress and Elections in New Delhi.
Ningombam is the first person from the Northeast to be appointed in the top post of India’s national hockey team.
Prior to this, Ningombam, was the officiating president of Hockey India since July 2020, after Mohd Mushtaque Ahmad resigned on July 7, 2020 from the post.
Ningombam had earlier served as the senior vice-president of Hockey India, senior vice-president of the Manipur hockey team and chief executive officer of the Manipur state hockey team.

The International Day of Radiology (IDoR) is held annually on November 8 to promote the role of medical imaging in modern healthcare.
The day also marks the anniversary of the discovery of x-rays by Wilhelm Roentgen in 1895.
The theme for 2020 is ‘Radiologists and radiographers supporting patients during COVID-19’
World Radiology Day was first celebrated in the year 2012.
