1.NIESBUD signs MoU with Ministry of Rural Development for implementation of Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Program
National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) , an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship , has promoted entrepreneurship at the grassroots level through the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Program (SVEP) initiative.An MoU has been signed with the Ministry of Rural Development to develop a sustainable approach to delivery. SVEP is a sub-component of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) to be operated under the Ministry of Rural Development. Its objective is to support entrepreneurs from rural areas to set up enterprises at the village level in the non-farm sector. The above partnership will help in enabling the rural community to set up their businesses. Along with this, full support will be given to them till the business is established. This precise intervention will provide information, advice and financial support to the general public and help in the formation of community level organized groups of people in the villages.

3.India-Sri Lanka naval exercise ‘Slinex’ begins in Visakhapatnam
The ninth exercise-Slinex between the navies of India and Sri Lanka begins in Visakhapatnam . This exercise will take place in two phases. The first phase will be held in Visakhapatnam on March 7 and 8, while the second phase will be held in the Bay of Bengal on March 9 and 10. The Sri Lankan Navy will be led by frigate SLNS Sayurala, while the Indian Navy will participate in the maneuvers led by INS Creech. Indian Navy’s INS Jyoti, state-of-the-art light helicopters, Seaking and Chetak helicopters and Dornier maritime surveillance aircraft will participate in the exercise. Earlier in October 2020, the Slanex maneuver was conducted.
4.India to set up 10 GW of solar capacity in 2021: Report
According to Mercom India Research , India installed a record 10 gigawatts (GW) of solar capacity in calendar year 2021 , a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 212% . According to this report, 3.2 GW of solar capacity was installed by India in 2020. According to this report, India’s cumulative solar installed capacity at the end of December 2021 was around 49 GW. The report mentions that in 2021, India added a total of 10 GW of solar power, which is the highest in a single year. In 2021, 62% of new electricity capacity was solar power. In 2021, rooftop installations grew by 138 percent annually. In 2021, the average project cost was also higher due to higher raw material, module and freight costs. Launching this scheme in New Delhi, Labor and Employment Minister Bhupendra Yadav said that under the program workers in the age group of 18 to 40 years of unorganized sector can register themselves. Depending on the age, a minimum of Rs 660 to two thousand four hundred can be deposited every year. After the age of sixty, the pensioners will get the minimum pension amount of three thousand rupees per month. He said that the government is committed to provide social security to the workers of the unorganized sector. He urged the trade unions to get the workers registered under the PM-SYM scheme. The Union Minister also launched E-Shram on UMANG App. More than 25 crore workers working in four hundred different businesses in the informal sector have registered on the e-shram portal.

The Government has approved the continuation of the Swatantrata Sainik Samman Yojana and its components for the financial year 2021-22 to 2025-26 . The Home Ministry had proposed to continue the scheme. This decision reflects the Government’s commitment to remember and draw inspiration from the sacrifices of freedom fighters during the year of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav . Freedom Sainik Samman Pension has been sanctioned for the freedom fighters and their eligible dependents. At present, 23 thousand 566 beneficiaries are taking advantage of this scheme across the country. The amount of pension has been revised from time to time and dearness relief is also being included in it from 2020.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) hosted the International Election Visitors Program (IEVP) for Election Management Organizations (EMBs) from around 32 countries and four international organizations through virtual medium. Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh currently in front of over 150 EMB representatives participating onlineA general blueprint of the ongoing assembly elections was presented. Ambassadors/High Commissioners and other members of the diplomatic corps of nine countries to India also participated in the virtual IEVP 2022 today. State Bank of India (SBI) has appointed former CEO of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Nitin Chugh as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) to run the digital banking operations . He has been appointed for an initial term of three years. Prior to this appointment, Chugh was the CEO and Managing Director of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank. He joined HDFC Bank there where he served as Group Head of Digital Banking. A team of scientists from the Botanical Survey of India (BSI) has discovered a new ‘Gin Berry’ species (Glycosmys albicarpa) from the Kanyakumari Wildlife Sanctuary in Tamil Nadu .searched for. It was found as a single population covering an area of about 2 sq km. spread over the area. Glycosmis albicarpa is an evergreen small tree and is endemic to the southern Western Ghats. This species belongs to the orange family Rutaceae. Many plants belonging to these taxonomic groups are being used for their medicinal value and food. Species related to these plants are collected from forests mainly for local use as food and medicine. ‘Gin Aroma’ in the berries of Glycosmis species It has a unique characteristic and is popular as an edible fruit. Plants of this species also provide shelter to butterflies and larvae of other species. It was discovered in the Panagudi forest section of the Kanyakumari Wildlife Sanctuary in the Tirunelveli semi-evergreen forests of Tamil Nadu. The Botanical Survey of India (BSI) is an apex research organization under the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEFCC) to conduct taxonomic and floristic studies on wild plant wealth in the country. 15.India will export record wheat
In this financial year, India is going to export around 70 lakh tonnes of wheat . This will be one of the highest exports of wheat by India . India is the second largest wheat producer in the world, accounting for 13.53% of the global production . But it accounts for only 1% of global wheat exports . India produces about 108 million tonnes of wheat annuallydoes. However, most of the production goes for domestic consumption. India exported a record 6.5 million tonnes in the financial year 2012-13. By the end of February 2022, India has already exported 6.6 million tonnes of wheat. Benchmark wheat prices rose more than 40% in Chicago this week. This is due to fears of supply disruptions due to sanctions imposed on Russia by Western countries for attacking Ukraine. Russia and Ukraine account for nearly a quarter of global wheat exports and supplies from these countries have almost come to a standstill due to the Russo-Ukraine war. Supply disruption in the global market provides an opportunity for India to increase its wheat exports. The spurt in wheat prices also makes it attractive for exporters of wheat. The strengthening of the dollar against the rupee will also boost wheat exports from India.

The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) was entrusted with the preparation of a report on the increasing cases of human-animal conflict . Recently, around eight tigers have entered the villages of the Sundarbans and all of them have been caught and released into the wild. WII has advised the Bengal Forest Department to release the captured tigers in those areas of the forest where tiger density is low. WII is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. It was established in 1982 and deals with biodiversity, endangered species, wildlife policy, Conducts research in areas like wildlife management etc. The WII along with the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) and state forest departments is responsible for the National Tiger Census or All India Tiger Estimation.

27.Ancient port bridge on Puducherry coast partially collapsed
The ancient port bridge on the Puducherry coast partially collapsed. Due to the deep pressure over the Bay of Bengal, this bridge came under the grip of high waves. This famous ghat in Puducherry was built during the French rule . After independence, in 1962 , this bridge was extended to about 2 kilometers in the sea. Now this bridge, about 100 meters long, has collapsed due to the strong current. The bridge had fallen out of use for the past few decades due to its dilapidation. It was abandoned in 2004. At one time, public access was prohibited. Lieutenant Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan and Chief Minister N Rangasamy inspected the site. The Lieutenant Governor assured that all efforts would be made to repair the bridge.
