According to the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), nearly 200 engineering colleges have applied for closure, so these colleges have not enrolled new students, they will be open till the present batches are graduated. However, there has been an increase in intake for institutions like Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) or National Institute of Technology (NIT). Now, AICTE has also decided that by 2022, at least 50 percent of the technical institutes have to get recognition from the National Identification Board (NBA). At present, about 10 percent of the programs are recognized in India.

This decision of the Finance Ministry has cleared the way for the country’s largest banking network to be created. The reason for this is that India Post has planned to link all the 1.55 lakh post offices across the country with IPPB. There are 17 crore post office savings bank accounts in these 34 million accounts, while the remaining monthly income plans and recurring deposits are accounts.
