1. President attends centenary and convocation of Punjab Engineering College in Chandigarh

2. Modhera village of Gujarat declared as country’s first round the clock solar powered village

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of projects worth more than three thousand nine hundred crore rupees at Modhera in Mehsana district of North Gujarat and dedicated it to the nation. These projects include the launch of the Rs 511 crore Sabarmati Jagudan Rail Aman Parivartan Project and the inauguration of the ONGC Nandasan Kendra . Shri Modi said that these projects have infused new energy of development in entire North Gujarat including Modhera and Mehsana. The Prime Minister declared Modhera village , famous for the Sun Temple , as the country’s first round the clock solar powered village . This is the first project underSolar roof stops have been installed on more than 1300 rural houses in the prestigious Modhera village at a cost of Rs.80 crore . Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) has also been installed at nearby Sajjanpura village for storing solar energy. It can be used at night. This has resulted in more than 60 to 100 percent reduction in electricity bills. In Modhera, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of several projects, including four-laning of National Highway-68 between Patan and Gojaria. Projects include setting up of a new automatic milk powder plant at Dudh Sagar Dairy in Mehsana.

3. UN Security Council diplomats and representatives of member states to participate in the meeting of the Counter-Terrorism Committee in Mumbai and New Delhi on October 28 and 29

4. World Bank cuts India’s economic growth forecast

The World Bank has cut its growth forecast for the Indian economy to 6.5 per cent for the fiscal year 2022-23 , citing poor global conditions . This is one percentage point lower than the previous June 2022 estimate. In its latest South Asia Economic Focus Report released ahead of the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, the World Bank said that India is growing stronger than the rest of the world.

5. SC status of converts will be considered, commission constituted under the leadership of former CJI

The Central Government has constituted a commission under the chairmanship of former Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan . This commission will consider granting Scheduled Caste (SC) status to those people who have historically belonged to the Scheduled Castes but converted to another religion.Is. The Constitution states that a person professing a religion other than Hinduism or Sikhism or Buddhism cannot be considered a member of a Scheduled Caste. According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the three-member commission also includes retired IAS officer Dr. Ravinder Kumar Jain and University Grants Commission member Professor Sushma Yadav. The commission will also decide what effect it will have on the existing scheduled castes if they are given SC status. At the same time, it will also be seen that after these people converted to other religions, how the customs, traditions and social discrimination and deprivation situation changed. The commission can also brainstorm on any other related questions. 8. RBI approves re-appointment of Yes Bank MD and CEO Prashant Kumar for 3 years

10. ASI organizes a two day National Conference on Project Mausam – Jaldhipura Yatra: Exploring Multi-Cultural Relations of Indian Ocean Rim Countries

Project Mausam , a project of interaction between different countries in the Indian Ocean region in 2014 by the Ministry of Culture , Government of India , in an attempt to understand the monsoon winds and other climatic factors and the way these natural elements have been affected by different periods of history . It was launched at the 38th World Heritage Committee meeting of UNESCO held in Doha, Qatar . Presently, the project is being conducted by ASI . With a view to promote future research and broaden our understanding of the subject, ASI organized India Habitat Center in New Delhi on 7th and 8th October, 2022. Organized a two day National Conference in The “ Jaldhipura Yatra: Exploring Multi-Culture Relations among Indian Ocean Rim Countries ” conference covered many aspects of maritime exchanges and interactions. The conference was inaugurated by Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal , Minister of State for Culture and Parliamentary Affairs and Culture and Minister of State for External Affairs Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi .

11. Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur inaugurated Water Sports Center at Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh

Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur inaugurated a water sports center at Koldam Barmana, Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh . The center will provide training in water sports like rowing, canoeing and kayaking . Speaking on the occasion, Anurag Thakur said that 40 players would be selected who would participate in rowing, canoeing and kayaking. These centers are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and will also provide hostel and training facilities to the players. The first water sports center in Himachal Pradesh has been jointly started by Sports Authority of India and National Thermal Power Corporation.
