1 Myanmar hopes to have a rupee-kyat trade deal by the end of June

Myanmar  ‘s Commerce Minister  U Aung Naing Woo  has expressed hope that  the trade arrangement  between  India and Myanmar in rupee and kyat Will start by the end of this month. He said that after the commencement of this facility, the trade between the two countries will double. Due to US sanctions, Myanmar does not have sufficient foreign exchange to import materials from its trading partners. EEPC in Kolkata. Under the special arrangement, Myanmar will accept rupee payments for all its exports to India and then use the rupee for imports.

2 India tops digital payments ranking

 India has reached the top position  in terms of making  the most digital payments in the world . A record number of digital payments  were made by India in the year  2022. Around  89.5 million digital transactions  have taken place during this period. India is far ahead of the other four countries in the top-5 list. Brazil secured the second position in digital payments with 29.2 million transactions, followed by China with 17.6 million transactions. Thailand and South Korea took the fourth and fifth places, with 16.5 million and 8 million transactions, respectively.

 The Prime Minister of  India has  appreciated the new initiative of celebrating Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana as  ‘ God Bharai ‘ ceremony  in  Dausa , Rajasthan . Pregnant women gather for this festival, where they are   provided with nutritional kits to promote the health of their babies. About 3.5 lakh women in Rajasthan alone  in the year 2022-23 have benefited from this scheme. A ‘baby shower’ is a traditional Indian ceremony to celebrate the impending arrival of a baby, often referred to as a baby shower. Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana is a maternity benefit program in India, under which financial assistance is provided to pregnant and lactating women for their healthcare and nutritional needs. It is a centrally sponsored scheme implemented by the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

 

 

4 Indian film ‘When Climate Change Turns Violent’ wins WHO Award

A documentary titled  ‘ When Climate Change Turns Violent ‘ has won a special prize in the ‘Health for All ‘ category at the fourth annual Health for All Film Festival held at the World Health Organization  ‘s headquarters   in  Geneva . The documentary   has been directed by Vandita Sahariya  from  Rajasthan . She was the only Indian among the winners.

5 Guwahati Railway Station awarded ‘Eat Right Station’ certification by FSSAI

Guwahati railway station  in  Assam  under  Northeast Frontier Railway awarded the  ‘ Eat Right Station ‘ certification by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI)  for providing  high-quality nutritious food  to passengers  . The station has been able to meet the guidelines set by FSSAI and   has become the first station on North Eastern Railway to get this status. It is noteworthy that the Railway Stations which follow the standard food storage and hygiene are awarded ‘Eat Right Station’ certification by FSSAI. This certification is awarded by FSSAI to railway stations that set standards in providing safe and nutritious food to passengers.

 

6 Varanasi: The ambitious seven-year action plan put forward by India in the G-20 was approved

An ambitious seven-year action plan  laid out by India at the  Varanasi G-20 Development Ministers’ meeting  acceptedThis action plan   will accelerate progress on the Sustainable Development Goals of the G-20 countries. Apart from this   , another document was accepted in the meeting with the aim of increasing cooperation and partnership regarding sustainable lifestyles to meet climate change goals . Now   these will be discussed in the meeting of G-20 leaders  to be held   in  New Delhi on 9 and 10 September . India hosted the session under the chairmanship of G-20.

7 Meeting of 3rd Structure Working Group under India’s G-20 Chairmanship begins in Kochi

Kerala In  , the third Structures Working Group meeting  under  India’s G-20 chairmanship  will begin in Kochi . Over 75 delegates from G-20 member states, invited countries and various international and regional organizations are participating in the two-day event. The meeting will be jointly chaired by Dr V Ananth Nageswaran, Chief Economic Adviser to the Union Ministry of Finance and Tom Hemingway, Deputy Director of the UK Treasury.The Framework Working Group meeting will focus on current global economic outlook, macroeconomic implications of food and energy insecurity and climate change and climate change. Will also discuss the wider economic impact of the routes.

 

8 National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and US Security Advisor Jake Sullivan addressed a meeting on India-US cooperation

 

National Security Advisor  Ajit Doval  and  America  Security Advisor  Jake Sullivan  addressed   a meeting on India-US cooperation  in critical and emerging technologies in  New Delhi . Speaking on the occasion, Shri Doval said that under Indo-US cooperation, both the countries have signed an MoU on semiconductors. He said that there are detailed discussions on biotechnology and there have been important exchanges on cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence technology. Shri Doval said that India and the US have established a Strategic Trade Dialogue which will serve as a platform to remove regulatory barriers and issues related to exports.

9 Central Government announced three schemes for disaster management in the country with an amount of more than Rs.8000 crores

home Minister  Amit Shah  has said that the government will  give Rs 8,000 crore to the states to  effectively  deal with the flood situation in urban areas, strengthen fire services and deal with landslides. Will help more than Chairing a meeting with disaster management ministers of states and union territories in New Delhi, he said Rs 5,000 crore would be given to states for expansion and modernization of fire services. Shri Shah said that two thousand five hundred crore rupees will be given to reduce the outbreak of floods in the metropolitan cities of Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Pune. The Home Minister said that Rs 825 crore would be given to 17 states and union territories to deal with the problem of landslides. The Home Minister said that the government has set a target of preparing about one lakh youth volunteers in 350 disaster prone districts. He said that in the last nine years, the amount released from the National Disaster Relief Fund has increased almost three times from Rs 25 thousand crore to Rs 77 thousand crore.

 

10 Alkaline Seawater Electrolyzer for Hydrogen Production

 

Recently,   researchers at  the Indian Center of Technology (IIT) Madras have developed an alkaline seawater electrolyzer  to generate hydrogen, addressing challenges related to  existing water electrolyzer technology.   developedThe Alkaline Water Electrolyzer is an energy-intensive technology, requires an expensive oxide-polymer separator, and uses fresh water for electrolysis. The invention has addressed each of the associated challenges by developing simple, scalable and cost-effective alternatives and is highly efficient in generating hydrogen.

11 India’s first dimethyl ether fuel driven tractor

Recently  IIT Kanpur  has developed India’s first 100% Dimethyl Ether (DME) powered tractor/vehicle  for operation on all types of roads  , which has higher thermal efficiency as compared to standard diesel engines and also offers much Less pollution is generated. Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB)  , a part of the Department of Science and Technology (DST  )The research is supported byThis project is part of NITI Aayog’s ‘ Methanol Economy’.‘ program that aims to reduce India’s oil import bill and greenhouse gas emissions. Dimethyl ether fuel is a synthetically produced alternative fuel that can be used directly in specially designed compressed ignition diesel engines for a variety of purposes. It is a renewable alternative to crude oil. Many countries including Japan, USA, China, Sweden, Denmark and Korea are already using it for their vehicles.

12 Geological Survey Training Institute of India (GSITI), Hyderabad recognized as “Excellent” by Capacity Building Commission

 National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET ) to the Geological Survey of India Training Institute (GSITI)  under the administrative control of  the Ministry of Mines  for the excellent services rendered by it and  for maintaining high standards in the field of  Earth Science training Accredited by. This assessment was done on the basis of inspection of all standard operating procedures and practices adopted by the institute at various levels. The team of Capacity Building Commission (CBC), NABET and Quality Control of India carried out on-site assessment and awarded the Accreditation Certificate with grading of Excellent. GSITI, headquartered in Hyderabad, was established in the year 1976. It has six Regional Training Divisions (RTDs) located at Hyderabad, Nagpur, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kolkata and Shillong.

The concept of using ingredients derived from animals as advanced wound care products is not new. However, indigenous technology was not yet available to manufacture quality products meeting the requirements of the Drug Controller General. Hence, such products were imported, making them costlier.

14 Launching of the third ASW SWC (GRSE) vessel ‘Anjadeep’ at M/s L&T, Kattupalli on 13 June 2023

‘ Anjadeep ‘  , the third of the eight ships of the ASW Shallow Water Craft (SWC) project  built by  M/s GRSE  for  the Indian Navy , was launched on 13 Jun 2023 at M/s L&T, Kattupalli. The launching ceremony was presided over by VADM RB Pandit, C-in-C (SFC). In keeping with the naval maritime tradition, Smt Priya Pandit launched the ship with chants from the Atharvaveda.  The ship is named Anjadeep to reflect the strategic maritime importance given to Anjadeep Island off Karwar  . The island is connected to the mainland by a breakwater and is part of INS Kadamba.

16 UGC introduces new degree programs of Bachelor of Science

In line with global norms and  the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020  , the higher education regulator in India,  the University Grants Commission (UGC)is set to introduce a new range of college degree names  . These changes are aimed at increasing the flexibility and alignment of the degree programs with contemporary educational needs. Section 22 of the UGC Act has provisions to empower the University Grants Commission to notify new degree nomenclature. It is in line with this provision that the UGC is planning to introduce new names which are in line with the aspirations of NEP 2020.

18 Harry Tector and Thipcha Puthavong: ICC Men’s and Women’s Player of the Month

ICC  has announced the winner of the Player of the Month  for the month of May in 2023  . Ireland’s Harry Tector  has won the Player of the Month award for the month of May  . He has won this big award by leaving behind Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Bangladesh’s Nazmul Hasan Shanto.  According to the announcement made by the ICC, after Ireland’s Harry Tector was named Player of the Month, Tector has also become the first Irish player to receive this award. On the other hand, the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for May 2023 has been awarded to 19-year-old talented  Thipacha Putthavong (Thailand)  .

20 Death anniversary of freedom fighter Birsa Munda: 9 June

The Indian Prime Minister   paid tributes to  the iconic  freedom fighter and tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his death anniversary on 9 June . Bhagwan Birsa Munda was born  on November 15, 1875  , He   belonged to the Munda tribe . He  spread a religion called Birsait  which attracted many tribal followers. They launched the ” Ulgulan ” or ” Munda Rebellion ” against the British officials and landlords who were occupying tribal lands and forcing them to work under inhumane working conditions.” (1899-1900). He envisioned a society free from exploitation and demanded the rights and dignity of tribal communities. He is widely revered as a folk hero and a symbol of tribal resistance. ” ” Jharkhand ” meaning ” Land of Forests “, was   established by the Bihar Reorganization Act on November 15, 2000, the birth anniversary of the legendary Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
