    1. National Minority Development and Finance Corporation organized a workshop on financial management :-

    National Minority Development and Finance Corporation – NMDFC has organized a workshop on financial management in New Delhi on Tuesday. The corporation has organized this workshop for the chairmen of the agencies operating in the state.

    While addressing the workshop, Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the corporation is playing an important role in making minorities economically and socially empowered by giving loans at a lower rate of interest. He said that under different programs more than six lakh 37 thousand people have benefitted from this.

     

    1. Neeraj Chopra of India won gold medal in athletics meet in Suitvel, France :-

    India’s spear thrower Neeraj Chopra has won the gold in the Athletics Meet in France’s Suitvel. Neeraj Chopra threw the spear 85.17 meters away to win the gold medal. In this tournament, Andrea Mardare of Moldova won the silver medal by securing the second position, throwing spear 81.48 meters away. At the same time, the third place Aidis of Lithuania was able to achieve. Edis won a bronze medal by throwing spear at 79.31 meters.

    The performance of India’s 2012 Olympian Keshav Walcott in the tournament has been very bad. He achieved the fifth place by throwing spear at 78.26 meters.

    1. Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan accepts the motion of the opposition parties :-

    On the first day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan accepted the opposition’s motion of no confidence. Ms. Mahajan said that the date and time of the debate will be decided in about ten days. He also sanctioned the resignation of three Lok Sabha members from Karnataka to five from YSR Congress and Karnataka from Karnataka.

    Earlier, as soon as the question hour began, the members of the Telugu Desam Party and the Samajwadi Party came into the middle of the house by placing slogans in their hands.

    Before the question hour, four new members took oath. In the recent bye-elections, he was elected to the Lok Sabha. These members are: Madhukarrao Kukade from Bhandara-Gondiya in Maharashtra, Rajendra Gavit from Palghar in Maharashtra, Thokeho from Nagaland and Tabus Begum from Karaana in Uttar Pradesh.     1. Five PSBs to get Rs 11,337 cr fund infusion :-

    The government is going to infuse Rs 11,337 crore within next few days in five state-owned banks. The capital infusion will be made in Punjab National Bank (PNB), Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Corporation Bank and India Overseas Bank (IOB). The latest round of infusion is aimed at helping the banks meet the regulatory capital requirement.

     

    1. Committee set up to synergise NCC and NSS :-

    Government has decided to set up a committee under the Chairmanship of Shri Anil Swarup, former Secretary, School Education, with suitable representations from NCC, M/o Youth Affairs and Ministry of HRD to suggest measures to strengthen National Cadet Corps (NCC) and National Service Scheme (NSS). The Committee will deal with on issues like expansion, strengthening training infrastructure, rationalizing resources, reducing manpower deficiency affecting NCC and NSS.

    The Committee will also submit recommend for building synergies between these two institutions viz. NCC and NSS and further strengthen them for empowering the youth.

     

    1. Cabinet clears MoU between India and Indonesia in the field of pharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, biological products and cosmetic regulation :-

    Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet conducts medicinal products , pharmaceutical substances, biological products and areas of cosmic regulation between Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) and the National Agency for Drug and Food Control (BPOM) of Indonesia. Has given its retrospective approval to the Memorandum of Understanding on MOU (MoU). This MoU was signed in Jakarta on May 29, 2018. It is expected that this MoU will help in improving the understanding of each other’s regulatory requirements and it will prove beneficial for both the countries. This will also encourage the export of pharmaceutical products.

     

    1. Amendment to the Right to Information Act :-

    The Government is considering a proposal to amend the Right to Information Act, 2005.

    Notice of a proposal letter has been given to present the ‘Right to Information (Amendment) Bill, 2018’ in the Rajya Sabha. It has to be presented for consideration during the current session of Parliament. The purpose of the proposed amendments is to enable such provisions under the Right to Information Act, under which rules can be made regarding the pay scales, allowances and service conditions of the Chief Information Commissioners, Information Commissioners and the State Information Commissioners. No such provision is available under Right to Information Act at this time.

     

    1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought cooperation from all political parties to make the monsoon session a success :-

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged all political parties to cooperate with the government to make the monsoon session of Parliament a success. Before the monsoon session, the government and the opposition parties met on Tuesday. Addressing the leaders of various parties, Shri Modi said that the government gives great importance to the issues of all parties. He urged the nation to create a constructive atmosphere during the monsoon session.

    In the meeting, the opposition mentioned issues raised during the session, while the government assured the discussion on all issues. In the interaction with the reporters after the meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar said that all the parties have assured cooperation.

     

    1. Iran registers complaint against USA in international court :-

    Iran’s Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that it has filed a complaint against the United States in the International Court regarding the ban again. Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi informed the Ministry’s website that a complaint has been lodged against the US on Monday. Foreign Minister Mohammad Javed Jarif tweeted that the purpose of this move was to make it accountable for the reinstatement of US arbitrary restrictions. The complaint has been filed in response to the decision of the US to withdraw from the nuclear deal in 2015 and re-banning Iran.
