Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the 30th meeting of the Northern Zone Council in Jaipur , Rajasthan . Regional councils work under cooperative federalism and provide a forum for discussion in a structured manner on issues affecting one or more states and between centre-states.

5.Gita Gopinath becomes the first woman to be featured on the wall of IMF’s former chief economists
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) will replace India-born and former chief economist Gita Gopinath ‘s photo with a picture of its former chief economist. She is the first woman and second Indian to receive this status. Raghuram Rajan was the first Indian to receive this honour. He was the IMF’s chief economist and director of research between 2003 and 2006. Gopinath was appointed as the Chief Economist of the IMF in October 2018. He was later promoted to the IMF’s first deputy managing director in December last year.
6.India’s unemployment rate rises to 7.80 percent, Haryana and Rajasthan on top
According to a report released by the Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) , the country’s unemployment rate rose to 7.83% in April, from 7.60% in March. According to the data released, the unemployment rate in urban areas was higher at 9.22 per cent as compared to 8.28% in March. India’s unemployment rate rose to 7.80 percent, with Haryana and Rajasthan topping the unemployment rate list. The unemployment rate in rural areas stood at 7.18 per cent in April, up from 7.29 per cent in March. According to the report, Haryana had the highest unemployment rate (34.5%), followed by Rajasthan (28.8%), Bihar (21.1%), and Jammu and Kashmir (15.6%).

12.Western Railway opens new skywalk connecting Bandra Terminus with Khar Road
Western Railway (WR) has recently opened its longest skywalk providing a comfortable experience to the commuters. 314 m long and 4.4 m wide connecting Bandra Terminus to Khar stationThe skywalk will enable passengers to reach Bandra (T) directly by getting down at Khar station and taking South FOB. This skywalk has made travel very convenient as earlier commuters traveling by suburban trains had to get down at Bandra or Khar railway station on foot to reach Bandra Terminus. The new skywalk has been built at an estimated cost of Rs 14 crore. About 510 metric tons of structural steel, 20 metric tons of reinforcement steel and 240 cubic meters of concrete were used for the construction. This skywalk will connect all the foot over bridges at Bandra Terminus.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced that it has opted to partner with Mumbai – based Hansa Research Group , to conduct field research for the July 2022 cycle of the Consumer Confidence and Inflation Expectancy Survey . It is now known that M/s Hansa Research Group Pvt Ltd, Mumbai has been hired by the Reserve Bank of India to conduct the field work for the July 2022 round of two surveys, RBI said in a statement. This follows a press release announcing the launch of both the Consumer Confidence Survey (CCS) and the Inflation Expectancy Survey (IESH) of households on June 30, 2022.

In 1946, he called for the partition of Bengal to prevent the inclusion of its Hindu-majority regions into Muslim-majority East Pakistan. In 1947, he also opposed a failed bid for a united but independent Bengal made by Sarat Bose, brother of Subhas Chandra Bose and the Bengali Muslim politician Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy. He founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) , the predecessor of the modern Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) .
