Prime Minister  Narendra Modi celebrated the centuries-old Namda craft  of Kashmir  Has shared an article regarding the revival on his Twitter handle. Shri Modi said that he is happy that the age-old Namda art of Kashmir is reviving and is now reaching the global stage after years. He said that this is a testimony to the skill of Indian artisans and their ability to persevere in the face of adversity. The Prime Minister said that the revival of crafts is great news for India’s rich heritage. Namda is a local term for a floor covering that is made of coarse wool. Namda is known as a craft art in various cultures especially in Asian countries like Iran, Afghanistan and India. Namda traditional art came to India with the Iranian people and gained recognition under the patronage of the Mughal and Rajput rulers. There are two main centers of Namda traditional art in India (Srinagar in Kashmir and Tonk in Rajasthan).

2 Home Minister Amit Shah chairs the Regional Conference on Drug Trafficking and National Security in New Delhi

Union Home and Cooperation Minister  Amit Shah   is chairing the Regional Conference on Drug Trafficking and National Security  in  New Delhi . In the presence of Shri Shah,  more than one lakh 44 thousand kg  of drugs will be destroyed by the Narcotics Control Bureau in different parts of the country. Narcotics Control Bureau-NCB It is taking action in coordination with the Anti-Drug Task Force of all the States. The government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance towards drugs to make India drug free. From June 1 last year to July 15 this year, NCB and the regional units of the states have collectively destroyed about eight lakh seventy six thousand kg of drugs. This is eleven times more than the fixed target. Their value is about nine thousand five hundred and eighty crore rupees.

3 G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting begins in Gandhinagar, Gujarat

The third meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors of G20 countries   under India’s Chairmanship of  G20  began in Gandhinagar  ,  Gujarat . Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman and Governor of Reserve Bank of India  Dr. Shaktikanta Das  are jointly chairing the meeting. In the first session of the meeting, the delegates discussed issues related to the global economy and global health and economic risks. The discussion of this session will focus on the finalization of the G20 Joint Financial Health Agenda under India’s Chairmanship of the G20. Around 500 delegates, including finance ministers and central bank governors of G20 member countries, heads of invitees and international organizations are participating in the meeting.

4 NITI Aayog released Export Preparedness Index 2022 report in New Delhi

NITI Aayog  released   the Export Preparedness Index 2022 report  in  New Delhi . According to this, the coastal states have performed best on all the indicators. Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat States like this have also performed exceptionally well. The report states that the higher average of the coastal states reflects their better preparedness and contribution to national exports. Regarding the policy framework, the report states that the states are taking necessary policy measures. 73 percent of the districts in the country have prepared export action plans and more than 99 percent of the districts are covered under the One District One Product scheme. One hundred districts of the country export about 87 percent of the total exports. Referring to the lack of adequate transport connectivity, the report said that lack of air connectivity hinders the movement of goods in landlocked states. The report suggested to the states that Indian states need to invest in research and development for development of market specific products and product quality improvement.

5 NITI Aayog said that in five years from 2015-16 to 2019-20, more than 13 crore people were freed from poverty

The number of persons living in  multidimensional poverty  in the country   has  declined from 24.85 per cent to 14.96 per cent  between  2015-16 and 2019-21 .  This has been disclosed in the National Multidimensional Poverty Index  released by  NITI Aayog . This National Multidimensional Poverty Index   shows India’s progress in reducing multidimensional poverty between the National Family Health Survey 2015-16  and  the National Family Health Survey 2019-21 . NITI Aayog Chief Executive Officer  B.V.R. subramaniam informed that 135 million people have been lifted out of multidimensional poverty during this period. He said that India is on course to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 1.2, much ahead of the target of 2030. Mr. Subramaniam also said that the report shows that poverty in rural areas declined sharply from 32.59 per cent to 19.28 per cent during this period. The maximum decline in the number of poor has been registered in Uttar Pradesh. Their number has been recorded as 3 crore 43 lakh. It is followed by Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. Providing multidimensional poverty estimates for 36 states, union territories and 777 administrative districts, the report said the largest reduction in the proportion of multidimensional poor was observed in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Rajasthan.

The Union Territory of  Jammu and Kashmir ranks first in the Geo Tagging  of  Cluster Development Projects (CDPs)  in the country   . These projects are being implemented  by the Union Ministry of Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises. implements. This achievement will lead to quick approval of projects and timely release of financial assistance by the Central Government, which will lead to rapid development of small, micro and medium industries in Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir has got ten projects approved by the Ministry of Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises for the development of Industrial Areas and Common Facility Centres. The total cost of this entire project in Jammu and Kashmir is Rs 90 crore 73 lakh. The Union Ministry has launched MSE-CDP in all the states including Jammu and Kashmir. Had asked to do geo tagging of the projects coming under it. Two teams were deputed to do this work in Jammu and Kashmir division, which completed the work of geo-tagging the completed and ongoing projects.

7 Russia freezes Ukraine grain export deal

Russia  has announced that it   will not participate in a deal to export Ukraine’s grain  through  the Black Sea . Its spokesman  Dmitry Peskov  said that  some of the points of the Black Sea Agreement related to Russia have not yet been implemented  , so its effect has ended. He said that after Russia’s demands are met, it can again become a participant in the agreement. The announcement comes just hours after an explosion on Russia’s bridge to Crimea. Russia called this attack an attack of Ukraine’s maritime drone. Meanwhile, the Kremlin has said there is no connection between the attack and its decision to freeze the grain deal.

8 Income limit of PM Awas Yojana increased in Maharashtra

The Center recently   made a significant change in the income criteria  for individuals falling under the  Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category  in  the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban ((PMAY-U)  in  the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) . Increase in income limit from Rs.3 lakh to Rs.6 lakh with a view to expand eligibility and access to housing  has been done. The Maharashtra government informed that the Union Ministry of Urban Development and Housing has informed the state government in this regard by writing a letter. This decision has been taken to help the economically weak people. Significantly, PM Awas Yojana is for urban and rural people. Under this, people who have kutcha houses, who do not have roofs, can apply for a house under the PM Awas Yojana. Under this scheme, funds are given to the poor for building houses. Apart from this, subsidy is also given in home loans to people with low income. The scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25 June 2015.

9 Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill 2023

The Union Cabinet  has reportedly   approved amendments to the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of the Provisions) Bill, 2023 . The proposed changes are aimed at   decriminalizing minor offenses   by amending 183 provisions in 42 Acts administered by 19 ministries . It aims to promote ease of doing business and reduce the backlog of court cases. The Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill was initially introduced in the Lok Sabha on December 22, 2022, by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. It was later referred to a Joint Committee of Parliament, which held detailed discussions with the ministries and departments involved. The committee adopted its report in March 2023, which was presented before the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha.

A seven-year-old girl from Kerala  was recently   affected by brucellosis, a contagious disease  found in  cattle breeds . Brucellosis is a  bacterial (bacterial) infection  that is transmitted from animals to people. It is caused by various Brucella species, which mainly infect cattle, pigs, goats, sheep and dogs. Worldwide,  Brucella melitensis  is the most prevalent species causing human brucellosis. Brucellosis is found globally and is a reportable disease in most countries. It affects people of all ages and both sexes. however, person-to-person transmission is rare.

American theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer  is   known for his important role in  the creation of the atomic bomb .  As head of  the Los Alamos Laboratory and leader of the Manhattan Project  , Oppenheimer and his team   used nuclear physics to develop the first atomic bomb. The atomic age began  with the Trinity Test on July 16, 1945,   which marked the successful detonation of the first atomic bomb. The United States then  dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki  in  Japan  , a devastating event that claimed the lives of millions of civilians  . These nuclear explosions in the eastern region With the end of World War II  , the nuclear arms race started, due to which the Soviet Union, Britain, France and China developed their own nuclear weapons. Oppenheimer was plagued by doubts about the implications of providing humanity with the means of its own destruction. He sought solace and reflection in philosophy through the Bhagavad Gita. Oppenheimer’s reflections on the Bhagavad Gita allowed him to reconcile his actions, and he compared his role in developing the atomic bomb to the moral dilemmas faced by Arjuna in the Mahabharata.

The launch of ‘Bharat Dal’ is a significant step taken by the Union Government in the direction of making pulses available to the consumers at affordable prices by converting the Government’s Chana stock into Chana Dal.

13 Rising cases of bird flu may increase risk of human infection

The recent increase in bird flu outbreaks among mammals   has raised concerns among international agencies, including the  Food and Agriculture Organization  (FAO),  the World Health Organization  (WHO) and  the World Animal Health Organization (WHO). health organization (World Organization for Animal Health- WOAH). 14 ONGC to resume work on  hydrocarbon exploration blocks in Iraq

State-run company,  ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL) , now owns its  hydrocarbon exploration block in Iraq is considering resuming operations in the U.S., which has been in a state of disarray since 2003. In recent times, Iraq has emerged as an important supplier of crude oil to India. With its abundant oil reserves and favorable trade relations, Iraq has become an important source of energy for India’s growing demands. In the financial year FY23, Iraq was the second largest exporter of crude oil to India, providing a total of 50.31 million tonnes of oil valued at $33.37 billion. This reflects the importance of Iraq’s oil supplies to India’s energy security and economic development.

15 India approves amendment to promote mineral exploration

The Government of India   approved amendments to  the  Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 . These modifications are aimed at  lithium, gold, silver, copper, and zinc. To encourage mineral exploration and development in the country with special focus on minerals such as The changes are the fifth amendment to the Act since 2014, reflecting India’s commitment to harnessing its mineral resources. One of the key outcomes of the amended Act is the expected growth in exploration and mining of lithium, which plays a key role in the electric vehicle (EV) era. Along with lithium, the government aims to encourage exploration of deeper minerals such as gold, silver, copper and zinc. These minerals hold significant economic and strategic importance, and their exploration and extraction will contribute to India’s resource independence and industrial development.

20 UAE becomes first Arab country to get observer status on Asia-Pacific money laundering

The United Arab Emirates (UAE)   has become the first Arab country  to receive observer status in  the Asia/Pacific Group (APG) on Money Laundering  , a regional body similar to  the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). The UAE   is participating with observer status in the plenary session of the Financial Action Task Force-style regional body (FSRB) Asia/Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG)  this week in   Vancouver  , Canada . The UAE is the first Arab country to be granted observer status at the APG. The UAE has placed international cooperation at the heart of its strategy and plans to combat money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
