2.Delhi’s eight private hospitals included in Ayushman Bharat scheme:-

Now in the hospitals of Delhi, the poor of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will get free and cashless treatment facilities. Ayushman, eight private hospitals of Delhi recognized by the National Accreditation Board for Hospital and Healthcare, has joined India. Health Minister J.P. Nadda appealed to the Arvind Kejriwal government to join Delhi with the help of this facility to give the benefit to Delhi’s poor people.

Indeed, Delhi is among the select states which refused to join Ayushman India. For this reason Delhi’s poor are not getting cashless and free treatment facilities up to five lakh rupees annually. For this reason, Delhi’s private and government hospitals were also not linked to this scheme. But in view of the absence of superspecialty hospitals in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, the National Health Agency appealed to Delhi’s private hospitals to join Ayushmann Bharat.

To provide high level treatment free of cost to the poor coming from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. While in these two states nearly two-and-a-half million families come under Ayushmann India. The number of such families in Bihar is 81 lakh 27 thousand, while in Uttar Pradesh about 93 crore families come under it. Assuming five members in one family, around nine crore people can be treated under Ayushmann Bharat.

After the appeal of the National Health Agency, several private hospitals in Delhi have shown interest in joining Ayushman India, which has compromised Thursday with eight hospitals. A senior official of the Health Ministry said that despite the Delhi Government’s involvement in Ayushman not in India, Delhi’s private hospitals will not have any problem in paying under Ayushmann Bharat.

Actually, 60 percent of the cost of treatment of poor under the scheme is borne by the Central Government and 40 percent of the state government. In the private hospitals of Delhi, the state government will pay the expenditure on poor treatment under this scheme. If the patient of Uttar Pradesh was treated that payment will be with his account and if the patient of Bihar is treated then the payment will be from Bihar’s account.
