PSLV-C38 Successfully Launches 31 Satellites in a Single Flight

1.India’s first single-wallet contactless, Open Loop Metro Card launched :-

Axis Bank, India’s third largest private sector bank in association with Kochi Metro Rail Corporation (KMRL) has launched KMRL Axis Bank ‘Kochi1’ Card.

This is India’s first open loop EMV contactless metro card that would make travel a convenient and hassle free experience for commuters in Kochi.

Axis Bank has partnered with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) in developing this transit EMV contactless specification on interoperable open standards.

 

2.FICCI assures Dr Jitendra Singh full support for smooth GST rollout in Northeast :-

The President of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Shri Pankaj R. Patel today met Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh and assured him of full support from FICCI for the smooth rollout of GST, all over the country including in Northeast, from the midnight of June 30 and July 1.

  1. Kenneth Juster to be new US ambassador to India :-

Kenneth I Juster, a top aide of US President Donald Trump, is set to be America’s new ambassador to India, the White House said.

Juster, 62, who is the deputy assistant to the US president for International Economic Affairs and deputy director of his National Economic Council, would replace Richard Verma if nominated and confirmed by the Senate.

4.President of India Congratulates ISRO for the Successful Launch of 31 Satellites by PSLV Today :-

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has congratulated the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for the successful launch of the Cartosat-2 series along with 30 co-passenger satellites of various countries by the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) today.

 5.PSLV-C38 Successfully Launches 31 Satellites in a Single Flight :-

ISRO’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C38 successfully launched the 712 kg Cartosat-2 Series Satellite along with 30 co-passenger satellites today from Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR, Sriharikota. This is the thirty ninth consecutively successful mission of PSLV.

 

6.A commemorative postage stamp released on completion of 50 years of Passport Act :-

The Minister for Communications Shri Manoj Sinha said that the Passport Seva Project (PSP) has been a watershed in the history of passport issuance in India with its successful implementation in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

The entire process of citizen service delivery has been re-engineered, standardized and automated. Speaking after releasing a commemorative postage stamp on completion of 50 years of “The Passports Act, 1967”, he said that services are delivered through a country-wide networked environment – integrating all Passport Issuing Authorities, around 91 Passport Seva Kendras, as well as providing access to a number of external stakeholders viz.

Immigration, Police, India Post, India Security Press and Embassies/ Consulates abroad.

 7.Shri Piyush Goyal launches POSOCO-IMD Weather Portal for Power Sector & Web Portal ‘MERIT’ (Merit Order Despatch of Electricity for Rejuvenation of Income and Transparency) :-

Shri Piyush Goyal Union Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal , New & Renewable Energy and Mines launched Weather Portal for Power Sector in association with POSOCO and IMD at the meeting of the Forum of Regulators here .

8.RIL-BP withdraws case against Govt. :-

The Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Industries (RIL) and its partner BP Plc have withdrawn an arbitration case pertaining to gas pricing policy, paving the way for higher gas prices from ₹40,000 crore of fresh investment the duo had announced earlier this week.

Confirming the development, a BP spokesperson told The Hindu, “The Gas Price Arbitration has already been withdrawn.”

9.30 more smart cities announced; takes the total to 90 so far :-

Central government today announced another list of 30 cities for development as smart cities taking the total cities picked up so far to 90 under Smart City Mission launched on June 25, 2015.

Announcing the new batch of smart cities at a National Workshop on Urban Transformation here today, Minister of Urban Development and Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation Shri M.Venkaiah Naidu said that 45 cities contested for 40 available smart city slots but only 30 were selected to ensure feasible and workable plans that match the aspirations of the citizens as directed by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi while launching the mission.

Thiruvananthapuram tops the list; Capitals Amaravati, Patna, Srinagar, Bengaluru, Shimla, Dehradun, Aizawl, Gangtok selected .

10.China stops Kailash pilgrims :-

The annual Kailash Mansarovar yatra, which was flagged off earlier this month by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, has been disrupted. Reports suggest that China has declined permission for the first group of 50 pilgrims to proceed to the holy Mount Kailash through the Nathu La pass.

The pilgrims have returned to Gangtok in Sikkim after the denial of permission.

“Yes, there are some difficulties being experienced in movement of Kailash Mansarovar Yatris via Nathu La. The matter is being discussed with the Chinese side,” said Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs.

11.Cyber crimes against children can now be re

ported at the POCSO e-Box :-

Child victims of cyber crimes can now lodge their complaints at National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR)’s POCSO e-box.

Considering the growing menace of cyber crimes targeting children, NCPCR has now enhanced the scope of POCSO e-box to handle cyber bullying, cyber stalking, morphing of images and child pornography.

Child victims themselves or their friends, parents, relatives or guardians can report cyber crimes by pressing the e-box button available at the Commission’s website, www.ncpcr.gov.in They can also register their complaints on email id: pocsoebox-ncpcr@gov.in or mobile no.: 9868235077.
