Our correspondent said that under the Indus Water Treaty 1960, the commissioners of both countries observe the work on both sides of the Indus Valley at a gap of five years. Since signing the treaty, there are 118 such visits from both sides. The visit of the Pakistani commission was fixed in October 2018 but it was postponed because of local bodies and panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the Indus Water Treaty, Sutlej , Vyas and Ravi river were given to India while Chinnab , Jhelum and Sindhu were given to Pakistan.

5.India’s second largest steel producer:-India has become the second largest steel producing country in the world. According to the World Steel Association (Waldsteel), India has reached this position by ousting Japan. Crude steel production in the country increased by 4.9 percent to 10.65 million tonnes in 2018. During this period, Japan produced 10.43 million tonnes.

Country’s steel minister Chaudhary Birendra Singh on Monday said in his comment on this achievement of India, after a program related to the steel industry that we will soon become second largest steel consumer country. In the last four years our steel industry has grown at a rate of five per cent annually.
