1.Nobel Prize in Physics awarded to three scientists for their discovery of climate

Physics for 2021 was awarded the Nobel Prize USA to Sukuro Mnabe , Germany ‘s Claus Haslman and Italy ‘s Giorgio Parisiannounced to give He will be awarded the Nobel Prize for his remarkable contribution to the understanding of complex physical systems. Soukuro Manabe of Princeton University in the US and Klaus Hasselmann of the Max Planck Meteorological Institute in Germany will receive half of the prize money. The remaining half will be given to Giorgio Parisi of Cepienza University in Italy. Soukuro Manabe showed how increased levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere lead to an increase in temperature at the Earth’s surface. His work laid the foundation for the development of current climate models. Mr. Manabe and Mr. Haselman did physical modeling of the Earth’s climate, He did remarkable work in the field of measuring the variability and accuracy of forecasts of global warming. Mr. Parisi explored the interaction of disorder and fluctuations in physical systems, from atomic to planetary parameters. Under this award, a gold medal and one crore Swedish kronor i.e. about one crore 1.4 million dollars are given. The Nobel Prize in Physics is awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Stockholm, Sweden.

2.Credit guarantee scheme for sub-loans extended till March 31 next year

Government sub-loans to credit guarantee scheme to next March 31 this year has increased. The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has said that the government had on May 13 last year announced the creation of a sub-debt-stressed asset fund for distressed MSMEs under the Self-Reliant India Package . The scheme was launched to provide credit facility to the promoters of distressed micro, small and medium enterprises. To help the distressed MSME units, the government had earlier decided to extend the scheme for six months from March 31 to September 30 this year. The ministry said that in view of the requests received from the stakeholders of the scheme, the government has decided to extend it for a further period of six months. This scheme will now continue till March 31 next year.

3.India and Australia agree to enhance cooperation in the field of higher education

India and Australia have agreed to enhance cooperation in the field of higher education . Under this, cooperation between the two countries will be enhanced in the fields of student learning, teacher exchange, applied research and other related areas. The decision was taken in a virtual meeting between Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Australian Education Minister counterpart Alan Tuj. Shri Pradhan raised the issue of return to Australia of Indian students studying in Australia in the meeting. The Education Minister of Australia informed about the steps being taken by the Government of Australia to facilitate the return of Indian students to Australia.

4.Naval Exercise-JIMEX between India and Japan to begin in Arabian Sea from tomorrow

Russia successfully test- fired the Zircon hypersonic cruise missile from a nuclear submarine for the first time . The Russian Defense Ministry said two Zircon cruise missiles were fired from the Severodvinsk submarine at proxy targets in the Barents Sea. The Zircon firepower was first tested from the surface and then another missile was fired from a submerged position in the White Sea. Zircon is capable of flying at speeds up to nine times that of sound and can strike a distance of one thousand kilometres.

The Ministry of Textiles has approved continuation of the Samagra Handicrafts Cluster Development Scheme with a provision of Rs.160 crore . This scheme will run till March 2026. Under this scheme, handicraft artisans will be given assistance in terms of infrastructure, market access, design and technology up-gradation. The objective of Samagra Handicraft Cluster Development Scheme is to provide world class infrastructure for local artisans and small and medium sized entrepreneurs to increase their production and export. Under this scheme, a target has been set to benefit more than ten thousand artisans and entrepreneurs. Through this scheme, artisans will be trained to enhance their business through technical up-gradation, providing toolkits, increasing marketing facilities and promoting their businesses.
