1.Sandeep Bakshi will be appointed as COO of ICICI Bank, Chanda Kochhar :-

ICICI Bank, the premier private sector bank, has appointed Sandeep Bakshi as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the bank today. At the same time, the bank has also said that as long as the internal investigation is going on against his CEO Chanda Kochar, the Videocon loan case will remain on leave.

Bakshi, who is currently the MD and CEO of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, will hold the post of Chief Operating Officer of the bank from June 19, although it is still waiting for various approvals on this. According to the highest level of bank governance and corporate standards, Kochhar has decided that he will remain on leave until the completion of the declared inquiry on May 30, 2018.

 

2.Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will interact directly with farmers across the country and will discuss various aspects related to doubling the income of farmers by 2022 :-

3.Government will work with Google to forecast floods  :-

Union Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Conservation Minister, Shri Nitin Gadkari has expressed the hope that the alliance with Google will help in effective or effective management of flood in India. In the field of water resources, India’s top technology body Central Water Commission (CWC) has signed a cooperation agreement with Google. 4.KVIC gets contract from Air India :-

For the third time, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has received an order worth Rs 8 crore from Air India to supply convenience kits to its international travelers. This facility kit includes khadi’s herbal beauty care products. These products include khadi hand sanitizer , moisture supplement lotion, handmade soaps, lip balm, khadi daily face wash and essential oils.

9.Will construct a network of roads in villages, build 61 thousand kilometers of roads :-

The roads of PMSW connecting villages with pucca roads will reach the paved roads to the remaining villages of the country. The target of connecting 20 thousand villages in the current financial year has been fixed, for which the total road length of 61 thousand km will be made. These roads will be constructed with a total length of 12 thousand km of green technology.

 

10.PU students will build power with unique technology for seals posted in Leh and Siachen :-

Punjab University will make electricity from portable wind turbines for army jaws deployed in Leh and Siachen Purdum areas on the country’s border. This project has been formally approved by the Government of India. Army personnel doing duty in the remote area on the border have to cope with the constant shortage of electricity.

In many places, there is a lot of difficulty due to lack of electricity. In view of this, the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIIT) of PU sent the proposal which has now been approved. Due to this, work on designing the project has begun. Under the project, testing of wind speed in these areas will be done and on this basis the turbine will be installed which will generate electricity. There is a plan to make an average of 500 watts of electricity every day. Electricity will be used to meet the common needs of about 20 to 25 soldiers. On the basis of need in future, its capacity will also be increased.

 

11.US made the world’s most powerful supercomputer :-

In the case of making supercomputer, the United States has retained its position in the region while retreating Japan and China. This superpower country has launched the most powerful computer ‘summit’ on Monday. It is made by the American IT company IBM for the Oak Ridge National Laboratory of the US Department of Energy. It is eight times more powerful than the previous Super Computer Titan of the department. It is capable of calculating two lakh trillion (two lakh lakh crores) in a second. It will be used for research in the field of energy, advanced materials and artificial intelligence.
