1.Central Cabinet approves three major infrastructure projects to construct new terminal buildings at Guwahati, Chennai and Lucknow airports :-

These will cost more than Rs. 5000 crores. Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu said in a tweet that the construction of the terminal building of Lucknow will cost a thousand 232 crores and it will be helpful in the progress of Uttar Pradesh.

Shri Prabhu said that Rs. 383 crores would be spent on the new terminal of Guwahati. This will encourage tourism in North-Eastern States, with the promotion of Act East policy. The construction of new terminal building of Chennai will cost Rs. 2, 467 crores.

 

2.Cabinet approved doubling the investment limit for senior citizens under the Prime Minister Vandana Yojana (PMVVY) from 7.5 lakh rupees to 15 lakh rupees :-

Related imageUnder the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has doubled the investment limit of 7.5 lakh rupees under the Prime Minister Yad Vandana Yojana (PMVVY) under financial commitment to financial inclusion and social security, as well as its membership of Rs.15 lakh. The deadline has been extended from May 4, 2018 to 31 March, 2020.

Apart from this, in order to promote social security initiatives for senior citizens, increasing the investment limit of Rs 7.5 lakh per family in the current scheme, the revised PMVVY has been reduced to Rs 15 lakh per senior citizen. In this way, senior citizens have been provided with extensive social security cover. This will enable senior citizens to get pension up to Rs 10,000 per month.

 

3.The Cabinet approved the mutual recognition agreement between the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants :-

Details:Regarding mutual recognition agreement (MRA) between ICAI and SAICA for establishing mutual cooperation structure for accounting knowledge, professional and intellectual development, increase in their number and positive contribution in the development of accounting profession in India and South Africa. The Cabinet has approved this.

The Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Shri Suresh Prabhu participated in the Indo-South Africa Business Summit held in Johannesburg, South Africa during April 29-30. This tour started with many bilateral meetings. Mr. Suresh Prabhu called on the Minister of Trade and Industry of South Africa Dr. Rob Davis and Swaziland, Botswana and Lesotho Ministers.

 

5.Delhi thrash Rajasthan by 4 runs in exciting encounter :-

In this match played in Feroz Shah Kotla, Rajasthan Royals captain Ajinkya Rahane has decided to bowl first before winning the toss. But due to rain’s disruption, the match was reduced to 18-18 overs rather than 20-20 overs. When Delhi’s score was 196 for 6 wickets at the end of 17.1 overs, the rain once again hampered the game. Due to the Duckworth-Lewis rules, the revised target of 151 runs in 12 overs was given to Rajasthan to win.

 

6.NASA’s Insight Vehicle Ready for a New Campaign on Mars :-

Six years after the Curiosity Rover landing on Mars, American space agency NASA is fully prepared to launch its new spacecraft Insight. It will be launched from the Vandenberg Air Force Station in California on Saturday. In this campaign, a robotic geologist (robot geologist) is also being sent who dig deep on the red planet and measure the vibrations on the surface. With this, the size and structure of Mars will also be studied deeply.

 

7.The RBI has given information of Rs 1 lakh crore rupees raised in five years :-

According to the information sought by the Reserve Bank of India (RTI) through Right to Information (RTI), that in the last five years, scandals and scams have targeted banks more than 23,000 times. All these scams and scandals have resulted in more than Rs one lakh crore rupees from the banks.

 

8.India and China resume mutual trade between Nathu La border :-

Tenzing Sepoy, general secretary of the India-China Border Welfare Association, told that due to the deadlock in the Dola, last year Nathu La had been able to trade only for two weeks.

A meeting was held between the two sides yesterday in which discussions on ways to increase trade and harmony in this year were discussed. In a formal program organized at Nathu La Border, Sikkim, the traders and officials of both the countries greeted each other and expressed confidence to do all possible cooperation among themselves.

 

9.Air travelers to get Wi-Fi access in the country soon :-

People traveling by plane will get the convenience of Wi-Fi connection during the trip soon. Telecom Commission today approved a proposal in this regard. In a tweet, Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu has said that he will ensure the initial implementation of the proposal. The telecom department had asked the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority of India to give its recommendations on licensing rules and procedures to provide internet data and voice services during the flight. After this the Authority suggested that the permission of mobile communication during the flight should be valid till at least three thousand meters. The regulator said that during the flight, internet services should be provided through WiFi in Airplane mode.

 

10.EPFO stopped services of public utility center, denied data stealing :-

The EPFO says it has banned these services till the pending CSC sensitivity is pending. However, EPFO has dismissed any possibility of data leak of shareholders from the government’s website.

This statement of EPFO came on March 23, after the EPFO’s Central Provident Fund Commissioner, VP Joy, the viral letter of CSC CEO Dinesh Tyagi, written in connection with the data theft. The letter states that the data is stolen.
