Indian Coast Guard and Indian Navy and Indian Port Rail and Ropeway Corporation Limited at Gandhinagar to be commissioned on 02 Jul 2023 A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between The Central Government under the aegis of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways is building a National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) at the historic Indus Valley Civilization area of Lothal (Gujarat). The foundation stone for the NMHC project was laid by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in March 2019. It will include a Maritime Museum, Light House Museum, Maritime Theme Park, Amusement Park Centre. NMHC will showcase the country’s maritime heritage from ancient to modern times, adopting an education and entertainment approach using latest technology to spread awareness about India’s maritime heritage.

18 Former Punjab Deputy Speaker Bir Devinder Singh passed away
Former Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly Bir Devinder Singh passed away at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh. Bir Devinder, who started off as a leader of the All India Students’ Federation (AISF), was first elected as an MLA from Sirhind in 1980 on a Congress ticket. Later he won from Kharar assembly constituency in 2002. He served as the Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly between 2003 and 2004 during the Amarinder Singh- led Congress government in Punjab . He was expelled from the Congress in 2016 and joined the Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali) in 2019.
