3. Nipah virus case reported in Kerala’s Kozhikode district

4. Israeli company will make ‘Sky Striker’ for the army in Bangalore

  • The Indian Army will be equipped with Sky Strikers in the coming times , which will help in carrying out operations like Balakot Air Strike . Therefore, the Army has tied up with Israeli company Elbit Systems , a joint venture led by Bengaluru -based Alpha Design Technologies , to buy more than 100 ‘ Sky Strikers ‘ . According to Elbit Security Systems the Sky Striker is a cost-effective ‘ revolving weapon ” which is capable of delivering precise and tactical strikes over long ranges. Under the contract these ‘Sky Strikers’ are to be manufactured in Bengaluru which can be used in missions like Balakot. These armed drones will fulfill the requirement of ‘nomadic munitions’ of the Army. It is a type of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with an explosive warhead designed to engage beyond line-of-sight ground targets. In fact, exactly 12 days after the Indian Air Force fighter jets entered Balakot at 3.30 am on 26 February 2019 to avenge the suicide attack on the CRPF convoy in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir on 14 February 2019, the terrorist organization Jaish-e.
