1.Government has constituted National Testing Agency for organizing scientific examination of entrance exams in higher education :-

In a reply to a starred question in the Lok Sabha today, Union Human Resource Development Minister, Shri Prakash Javadekar said that the Government has constituted a National Institute of Testing (NTA), a self-examination examination organization for conducting entrance examinations in higher education. The first entrance examinations were organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The objective of the formation of this agency is to create an expertise and dedicated organization to organize the prestigious entrance examinations and to free the CBSE from liability so that the CBSE can fulfill its assigned work. The government has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the examination in a scientific way, involving experts, to the NTA. All the examinations conducted by the NTA will be held twice a year for the benefit of the students.

 

2.Awarded ‘Newton’ film at BRICS Film Festival concluded with the third BRICS Film Festival of India Day :-

The third BRICS Film Festival concluded on July 22-27, 2018 with the International Durban Film Festival (DIFF) in Durban, South Africa. The last day of the celebration was celebrated as India Day. After that the award was given and the closing ceremony was held.

3.Saurabh Verma wins Russia Open Badminton Tournament Men’s Singles Title :-

Saurabh Verma won the men’s singles title of Russia Open Badminton tournament. On Sunday, Saurabh defeated Koki Airbay of Japan.

 

4.Published in full draft of the National Citizenship Register in Assam. About 20 million people are included in the list :-

A complete draft of the National Citizenship Register of Assam has been published, in which names of two crore 89 lakh 83 thousand 677 citizens of the state are included. Total 3 crore 29 lakh 91 thousand 384 people applied for the name to be included in the National Citizenship Register. The names of 40 lakh seven thousand seven hundred seven people have not been included in the draft.

In India, Registrar General Selesh of Guwahati said that those whose names are not included in the draft will be given an opportunity to file an objection. Mr. Selas also said that people whose names are not included in the list will be informed personally and reasoned.

Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs Satyen Garg said that Home Minister Rajnath Singh has already said that no one will be sent to captive camp or foreign citizen Tribunal. The organizer of National Citizenship Register of the State, Hajala said that those who do not have names in the draft of this register have the legal right to submit the application again to claim between August 30 and September 28 this year. Various political and social organizations have welcomed the publication of the draft of the full national citizenship register.

 

5.Reserve Bank’s monetary policy committee meeting begins :-

The three-day meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Reserve Bank has started in Mumbai. In the meeting, the statement related to the third bi-monetary policy for 2018-19 will be discussed and this statement will be released on August 1. In a communique, the Reserve Bank has said that the Monetary Policy Committee has decided to continue the arrangements for a three-day meeting.

7.PM Sen’s party wins all seats :-

In the parliamentary elections of Cambodia, the opposition has failed to open the account. According to the results on Monday, the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), ruling by Prime Minister Hun Sen, has managed to win all the seats. CPP spokesman Sok Isan said that the ruling party got 77.5 percent of the votes and it has wiped its pitch at all the seats. On the other hand, opposition parties have called Sunday’s general election as the murder of democracy.

 

8.A huge increase in the earnings of CSIR, leading to faster self-reliance :-

In general, CSIR has twice doubled its earnings in the last three years, the important institution of the Ministry of Science and Technology, unlike many central government institutions, being struggling to cope with the pressure of fund and dependent on government subsidies. How is it moving towards self-reliance? It is not less than a puzzle. Here it is important to know that CSIR has done these wonders by increasing the external cash flow. CSIR has made itself self-reliant by sharing or selling its licensing patented technology in the hands of private (private) companies.

 

9.After the Ease of Doing Business, India joined the Top 100 of the e-Governance index of India :-

After being included in the Top-100 countries of the Isle of Doing Business Index, the Modi Government has now taken another achievement. India has achieved such a similar achievement now in the United Nations e-governance index. Significantly, India had joined the Top 100 countries of the Issue of Doing Index in October last year.

 

10.Fortune’s 40 young influential people include four people of Indian origin :-

Three women, including  four people of Indian origin  the  40 most influential and inspiring young people in the business of Fortune  has been included in the list. Everyone is under 40 years of age. Instagram co-founder and CEO Kevin Sistrom and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg (both 34 years old) were  first shared in Fortune’s Under 40 list  .

11.Karnataka Best in Renewable Energy: IEEFA Report :-

According to a report by the  US-based  Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA)  , Karnataka is leading the country in renewable energy production. It is ahead of Tamil Nadu which has long been India’s most renovated market.Karnataka has installed 12.3 gigawatts (GW) of renewable capacity till March 2018. IEEFA’s report titled  “Karnataka’s Electricity Sector Transformation”  has been given.
