  • On the occasion of Independence Day, several jawans of the Armed Forces, Police and Paramilitary Forces will be honored with gallantry awards . President Ram Nath Kovind has approved 144 such gallantry awards . These include one Ashoka Chakra, one Kirti Chakra, 15 Shaurya Chakras, four times Two Sena Medals for gallantry, 116 Sena Medals, five Navy Medals and two Vayu Sena Medals . J&K Police ‘s ASI Babu Ram is being awarded the Ashok Chakra posthumously , while J&K PoliceAltaf Hussain Bhat, who was a constable in the same year, is being awarded the Kirti Chakra posthumously. Three of the 15 Shaurya Chakra awardees are being given this honor posthumously. The President has also approved 28 Mention-in-Dispatch honors for military personnel who have made significant contributions to various military operations. In this, ‘Operation Rakshak’ is being given posthumously to three army personnel.

7.  Union Culture Minister G. Kishan Reddy inaugurates the exhibition of Katha Krantiveers at Rabindra Bhavan, New Delhi

14. Indian Navy participates in US Navy-led multinational SEACAT exercise
